The matk from empower SA is added to the final matk, after all buffs. Like magic power SA. So - yes, it is not particularly good.
They really should give that SA a different name. I have met so many players who planned on putting that SA on their weapon, "because it will give me a permanent empower buff". And others thought, like you, that the number would be added to the weapon's matk (because the matk added is so small). But just think about it - that would be way too powerful, since it would transform a C grade weapon into a top B one, and an A grade weapon into a S grade one. It would be the equivalent of a quite highly enchanted weapon, just via putting on a SA.

Magic power came with 15% more mana used when using skills. Empower is "clean" no drawbacks, only +to magic power.
Becouse the bonus from magic power and empower SAs is added after the buffs are applied, its not a very good ideea to use them after C grade.

All i know is that if your a SpellSinger DO NOT use Magic power. Empower or acumen is good for Sps.
Sps tend to go thru their MP a lil more then other nukers :p
Adding that SA on for Sps just drains MP like mad, its crazy.. dont do it......
If your a SH, magic power can be used more successfully then a Sps. But i duno if they use that alot after C grade. The only SH i know lvl 70+ uses SOM with Acument i think, but not sure.
Both magic power and empower are bad SA's, especially if you use bsps.
The matk is added after all buffs including shots so when you charge a bsps it is a 4x multiplier on your matk while the SA is not multiplied.
If you have a matk of 400 buffed it will be 430 with the empower SA (+7.5%) but with a bsps charged your effective matk would be 1630 (+~1.9%). The higher your buffed matk the less the SA helps. The 15% increase in mp used makes the magic power SA worse than nothing if you use any kind of shots.
There are very few times when a +1.9% change in matk would be useful; it is only a ~0.9% increase in damage.
I was just assuming the empower and magic power SA work in the same way as the SA is added in the same place in the equation.

Oops, I noticed that site doesn't mention shot and there is no proof as to SS in the thread I linked (it might have just been the effect of DW). So much for assumptions. :o
Hmm, anyone else have some evidence either way? Is weapon mastery affected by shots?
Ive done same testing with necro lvl 54.
Sowd w/magic power gives a listed Matck 522
SOV w/acumen gives a listed Matck 502 :eek:
However when buffed this changes: with sowd I got 1000 matck, with Sov I got 1100 matck.
So magic power is good if u play solo without buffs. if u have a buffer, forget it, Use acumen.
