You guys need to respect us, we pay to play your game, the LEAST YOU COULD DO is follow your own mission statement, we put food on your table and you treat us like garbage. We put up with class imbalance, we put up with the crit errors every five seconds, we put up with some other no brainers that should be added, but the GM-less activity is absurd.
For example, I'm in Giran and I want to offer goodwill to a customer of mine, so I buy him 4xEAB. The "player" pops up, and sits back down IN LESS THAN ONE SECOND. With four new EAB at 250k each. Note, this was done all in less than one second.
I tried to duplicate this with only putting one item in the vendor and it took me roughly 5 seconds if not more. So I did what any legitimate player would do and made a petition knowing it would be useless as we're not respected. As usual, I get the lazy response to whoever clicks on the "illegal user" tab.
I then evaluate the petition as being sub-human as all a GM (you know the ones we pay for to be there 24/7) has to do is go to this BOT (the name is yeliyol on Hindemith) buy from the BOT, see how fast the BOT puts the stuff back. Then the GM knows that it has been proven without a doubt because it is humanly impossible to do that. Why did this not happen?
I can understand botting is harder to prove, yes there's one master controller choosing the targets and all the other bots are using their algorithms off the master controller, and you could say, there are just 6 people playing these bots and running in precise straight lines 100% of the time and running to mobs the millisecond they appear.
But this is so blatantly obvious. Where are the GMs? What kind of professional business are you trying to run?
Can you respect the paying players? Can you atleast admit that you don't ban bots because you need their monthly revenue? Why don't you try this, you make a new policy where anyone caught using an illegal program gets fined $180 (one year worth of play) as you have their credit card number. This way, you can actually respect your lawful legitimate customers, and you can still maintain the revenue that you need.
Furthermore, if you guys advertized once in a while, this hard measure against bots may attract people to this game. Do you know your game is notorious for being overrun by bots? Ever think of the customers you lose because of it? Ever think that perhaps there was a solution to your problem.
I know this is a rant, but all I'm asking is for your company to respect us. If you want, I will volunteer my services as a GM for free. I'll put in 10 hours a week FREE to police the servers and to show the paying customers that your company respects them.
No GMs, non-constructive automated responses, failure to heed own written rules. All in all, it comes down to a complete lack of respect, if the execs are saying, "yeah we know there is a bot problem but we allow it because we have to stay profitable" then you guys are once again disrespecting us for not thinking of a viable solution that eliminates the bots and still maintains profitability.
That's all I am asking for, just respect us, show us that you care about those who put food on your tables. You know what would be funny, if the answer was, "Bots put food on our tables".
Qais what the hell is wrong with you? Please tell me your not joining the crazy people that come here and write the same thing over and over. Sure I would love to see a change to man. Honestly I dont see it happening. I have destroyed what this game used to be to me looking for ways to fight it myself. Its hard not to get discouraged. The game is in a sad state it seems. But dude come on you know that posting here wont do a **** thing. Talk to me in game we can always try a few different things if you really want.

I don't think L2 radio is the solution to these problems. =/
Try using the support section of the webpage instead of the In game GMs, their responsbilities are for in game emergencies only. You may or may not get a better response going through the support site. Going through the forums will only end with the same generic response
"Do not post about bots, 3rd party etc etc, use the support site" So i'll beat her to the punch.
And I would not be unhappy, if people with such silly conspiracy theories would post them on a different board than this one.
Qais, you got a valid point, but the way you deliver your message is poor at best.
I would agree, that the shop bots are really easy to proove and a GM should be able to "fake buy" something as well, reversing a trade, if the player is innocent and just swinging the ban hammer, when they are prooven to not be innocent. It is true, that such inhuman speed is impossible to reproduce and that is a fair sign for illegit means. Since those sell bots are the ones with the big money on them (either in items or cash), they hurt the most if banned.
So yes, I would be really happy, if NCsoft would just look at that kind of "players" a bit more, but I see no need to create a pure flame post about it.

I am not supriced if someone finds out that ncsoft secretly owns one of the adena selling companies...
Actually technically they do, own all of them that is. Adena is intellectual property of NCsoft and since the virtual exchange company is selling their property and making profit off of it, NCsoft owns it. Without NCsoft's adena they couldn't sell anything, and thus wouldn't exist. NCsoft dosn't make direct profit from the adena sales, but they get a cut known as farmer subscription fees. Interesting isn't it?
Well, my presentation was a rant, but i wanted it to be show some animosity. Yes, i could have done it in a better way, but i was trying to show animosity. And i toned it down severely from what it was, but it could have been toned down even more.

I already tried that route....
They don't take telecommuting GM's.... If you want to be a GM you have to apply for the postition and move to texas.
those who respect the guidelines and rules in regard to owning an NCsoft account and such. Yes, they don't respec their guidelines, yet I respect them.
Basically, I pretty much try to avoid slandering people (bots don't count lol), i don't use 3rd party programs and I don't buy from NCsoft, i mean umm 3rd party adena sources.
I could be breaking their guidelines unknowingly, that's always a possiblity, but I don't think so. When we get onto servers we have to click on that EULA agreement or whatever it is, i think i comply.
I can understand GMs not being able to cope with a million requests every night... but what I have never understood is how NcSoft never say "Yep, we deleted a few bot users yesterday thanks to the Community for the tip offs", or something along those lines... but heyho....
They can't, they lose too much money, this is the only reason that they are so obvious to not banning bots. They will just lose too much money in the end. I say, MAKE A BETTER GAME TO ATTRACT MORE PEOPLE.
Or perhaps, remove the bots, they lose probably hundreds of customers a month because of that.
Qais
P.S. I don't have problems with people ebaying, they are only hurting themselves, when I finally get my full A grade, I would have actually earned it, ebayers, will never reach the in-game satisfaction that I will have.
what I have never understood is how NcSoft never say "Yep, we deleted a few bot users yesterday thanks to the Community for the tip offs", or something along those lines
They do, they have......I remember them posting how 60,000 some accounts where removed.
Qais

Now wait just a second here....
You have a problem with people that don't play by the rules, but you don't for people that ebay? Thats one of the biggest double standards i've ever seen!
You cann't have one with the other. Your ether with us or against us.

Well, thats cool :) Ive only been playing now for 4-5 months, but in that timeframe there has been no word about them except in locked topics on these boards.
When I started playign my first char, I was trying to talk to these people that never replied, until I realised they all had similar names and wore the same stuff, and never spoke, etc. Theres a whole bunch of them around atm.
Funny thing about a week ago, was a group of 16 identically armored D grade dwarf males with identical axes, and very similar names, all standing still in Dion for about 18 hours doing nothing standing about 3 feet apart from each other :)
I don't have problems with people ebaying, they are only hurting themselves
Sorry, but that is nonsense. The people that buy from the farmers are the source of their existance. If their were no market to sell adena on ebay and other sites, there would be no producers, or at least by for not that many.
Ignorance is bliss. You cannot be against farmers, but ignore their customers. To me they are all the same. Ban them.
Oh and btw, you are breaking the board rules, by repeating you silly conspiracy theory over and over.. And it wont become any more true by repeating it either.
NCsoft does ban cheaters. They just do not announce it and any announcement would not change anything.
If HGMSpam announced today something like
"on Tuesday 22nd with the serverdown, we closed 3462 accounst for violation of the rules of conduct".
There would be people immediately answering one or all of these possible lines:
1: "Woot, fine, now ban all the rest too ! Why dont you ban them all ? Now ! Faster !"
2: "I dont believe that. You only made that number up to make us happy."
3: "I wonder, how many legitimate players were banned among them"
4: "Just look at me, I am standing in the middle of the bot groups, I reportet 10 times already. They are still here !"
...
...
Announcing something does not help any. There will always be people, who do not believe the announcement, so why make it at all ?
Bot ban announcements are just cheap marketing tricks, that are more Blizzard style.

I have seen it happen, RustNC came here and announced the numbers and every one of those lines was used. *shrug*
