Experience loss at PvP

Hi, I'm playing L2 for quite some time now, but never had any real PvP so far (besides being 2 shoted by some moron at Gludin).
Could someone maybe write a guide about xp loss during PvP or at least offer some insight into the subject.
If I read the boards I find people obviously PvPing all the time.
Don't they lose insane amounts of xp?
What about clan wars?
When you fight someone (and they fight back) the loser loses 4% xp. When you fight someone whom your clan has declared war on and they have declared war back the loser loses 1%. If they have not declared war back, they will lose 4%, while you will lose 1%. When sieging a castle the xp loss is reduced to 1%, but only on the siege grounds.
Thanks for quick answer.
But 4% at lvl 7x means a lot of grinding to get it back. What do you get in return? Players with 5 or less PK won't drop anything.
So I really wonder that peeps are willing to sacrifice that much for a fun that lasts a few seconds if you're unlucky.
But remember there are blessed ressez who restore 100% there are bishops who restore 93% give or take a few. and 93% of 1% well they dont lose that much. Besides to get to 70+ u gonna need a real long time or almost live on the servers.
Bishops only return 90% with max setup for resurrection.
Because it's a risk to take.

Unlike games with a flat death penalty, engaging in PvP in L2 really does mean that the one who dies - gets hurt a lot (or blessed/bishop/ee rezzed at high levels). Basically you grind to recoup your exp losses and then continue to level if there's time left, before your next encounter. This is mostly about clan/ally PvP though, the random 1on1 I feel is a bit extinct perhaps :)

Bishops only return 90% with max setup for resurrection.

yeah no one believes me when i tell them this too

"oh noes, i have more than 90% rez because i say so"
