I'm having locating the NPC for the Forge of the Gods quest to Meet Valakas. I wanted to write a quest guide for the community, but on a couple of tries I can't find the person.
I've only been down in the FotG once while in a party, and IIRC when you take the port down to the "lower" half (From the Dawn Priest) there is a Dwarven smith not too far from where you appear. I'm thinking that this might be the NPC your looking for.
Please note the port landing spot isn't too far from some mobs so you won't be able to go far before the 6x hp aggro mobs are a 'issue'.
Ok, maybe i'm nuts, but the Priest in Goddard didn't have that on the port list. You guys using Noblesse ports? Or am I just crazy? O_o
I did run down again to take a peek and there's no chance I'm getting near that NPC without a 77 BD dancin'. I just find it funny the quest says it's for Level 60. How on Anakim's elbow is a lvl60 supposed to get there WITHOUT silent walk? :)

It's been awhile, but there is a good chance we did that when the 'Event Gatekeepers' were up for a short while. (I don't think the regular GK has that port location.)
Oh and those 6x mobs? At least one of those spawns 5 other 6x mobs on death. (We Party recalled out of there pretty fast once *those* started to pop in.)
LOL...yes, I was in a party shortly after C4 launched. We went to FoG to check it out. So we pull a couple of stakatos and thought, "Hmm...not too bad." Then one died...and spawned 6 as we were sleeping two others.....
Yay...total party wipeout! LOL....I remember running for dear life, but I got turned around and headed INTO the spawn room.
i came on the forums to show that damage and then ppl told me on death mobs there spawn 6 other mobs
never felt so lucky to get hit for 1500+ damage before
and sorry for my vague description but i was looking over someone else's shoulder when i seen the guy
all i can tell you is "lower forge of the gods" popped up on the screen and he was there with a quest exclamation point on his head
so basically for this quest once you get in forge of the gods you just kill a few 1/2 hp mobs?

His name starts with a K. Port in from Goddard to entrance of the forge of the gods. Go down and go in. Cross a bridge (I think). Take the first left (don't go right) then after take every right turn and stick to the right. You'll soon find him in a safe spot. Go back to town and talk to the blacksmith. The quest is easy and you can start the quest again after you get the floating stone.
Note the blacksmith inside the forge of the gods is for S grade weapon recipes.

No, you cannot go there without aggro (unless you can silent move...).
Just a note: you do NOT need to go to the blacksmith on the 2nd floor. That npc is for the S weapon quest. You want the NPC on the first floor, he is not that far in.

It's pretty much aggro all the way in unless you silent walk or get a shadow dancer. I just drag my SE and nuke my way in. There are places between groups of mobs where you can sit and regen.
There is a dwarf located at lower level FoG. Yes, I believe he's the one with the S-grade "collect 1,000 items" weapon rec quest.
He's not far from where you'd go to fight the Ember boss. I remember him (lucky to be invited down by an alliance).
My mystery NPC is the one some of you've mentioned who's apparently near the first room of red-hot Stakato death bringers. I can tell you, there's NO WAY I'm getting to him without silent move, and I don't yet have that skill (been working my SH).

Hard to describe how to get there (kind of like "go in and then down and through, then up the ramp and around the thingy"), but maybe just go to l 2 w h . c o m, click on "c4 drops", then "by npc", then select "Klein - watcher of valakas" and click the map icon (and zoom in on FoG). There's a little yellow dot just below "to hall of flame", that's him.
with a party hes not that hard. and in all reality if you can't through aprox 4 rooms of reg mobs you have no business dealing with valakas
True, but I'll still need to get the guide written. Whether someone feels brave enough to try going there at lvl60 ...well, L2Stratics is not responsible for lost gear or body parts. ;)

Maybe yes and maybe no. I think you'll be ported about 1 room away from Klein but in the opposite direction of the entrance. I could be wrong. Good luck. If I go in there again I'll grab you some screenies but it will be awhile.
Oh, I don't plan to actually TAKE ON Valakas! :) I just need to write the quest guide. And I heard a party with all 76+ were turned into wall art in FoG recently. I sure hope no one is silly enough to go there without LOTS of high-leve backup. :)
just to mention something about how cool BDs are. silent step dance (or whatever its called) is one of the coolest skills in the game. was in a rez party the other day, some friends has made it all the way to the portal of antharas (just to see what it was like down there) and they all lagged out simultaneously, some DCed, all ended up dead. with the silent step we got a whole party, including a heirophant, down there in about an hour, there is no way we could have rezed anyone if we had to fight through all the mobs to get down there, with people lagging out, and needing to walk their dogs, etc, since there is not many safe places down there and it was pretty late for most of those people to be online. there is nothing like a party of 9 people silently tip-toeing their way between sleeping kariks, hoping that no one in the party gets too far from the BD for fear of the entire room exploding at once in a wave of aoe stun firey death.
Yes, silent move dance is one of the most awesome skills in game. Want to raid Ember? Just walk through whole FoG without fighting a single mob :) Or want to raid the boss in hero rift? Just port in (with silent move dance up), look at the room, skip if not boss room, look at next room, if not boss room, just drink coffee and wait for the room to switch. Or, yes, escort for a res mission, or as part of a gank party scouting out some high lvl area. The enemy has to deal with the mobs, you don't.
This skill alone nearly makes me want to add a BD sub :)

just abit of a bish when a full party rocks up in a place like fotg and is able to nuke you into the ground while you try and fend off agro
of course you could say the same about the orc/silenos thingy
ganking ppl risk free in the midle of agro makes for some pretty easy full xp losses and gear drops

You can find a BD 77+ to make you a favour and escort party you to the NPC klein at FotG -or for some adena :P - if u Shout in Goddard
-then move to BS Hilda (GoddarD Blacksmith Shop )
-gather 50 Q items from Cedarel ( looks like bears just outside Goddard)-and give the items to Hilda
-get the item she gives back to Klein in FotG ( just follow the ally and they have to go to Klein so they can port in )
-then ...port in yourself and Die :P

the npc isn't really that deep into FoG, so it's nice that you wont have to travel too far in. npc klein is at the hall of flames port in. it's a lv60-78 repeatable quest.
mobs to kill outside of goddard (i was able to get 40/50 in 1 buff round duo with a HE): bandersnatches, grendels, and kookaburras.
