Hey all. I've noticed a 60% craft is a very popular choice in crafting. Myself, I would never risk it, when I could just gather more mats and get a definite success. So my question is: If you fail to craft, do you lose everything?
simple answer is yes. if you fail you loose all the mats you used to try and craft the item.
I hate 60% crafting, but yo only have to worry about that for A/S grade. Or just do like most people craft Bgrade and lower and sell it tell you have enough adena to buy A/S grade
With the expensive mats, the price of the recipe and parts pale in comparison. You need the same amount of key parts for 60% only less materials, so it's a lot cheaper. There are a lot of recipes where you save money if you fail once before succeeding.
Yes, this is true. Also its not only 40% less mats the key mats are less or different types (often cheaper types). For instance some recipes need high level molds and the 60% usually need a lower type of mold that usually takes a lot less mats.
I did a 60% kris craft and I succeeded that
60% dark elven longbow failed
60% carnage failed
60% carnage success
60% soul seperator success
So overall it has gone pretty well. Also, blue wolf parts are usually easy to come by so a 60% or 100% rec is worth crafting since the profit margins are so high. Now if only you needed 60% less key mats!

the general rule is to do 60% crafts if the recipie is cheap but the mats are expensive (like a craft with lots of enria)
60% cris is a good example (might not be the same now)
back in the day a cris rec could run you 10+ mil but the blades were cheap as chips
