Buffers Cann't pvp

I know every game needs the healer, and a buffer. But when it come down to pvp they just suck. I know they have root and/or sleepm, but thats it. All im saying is give them 1 or 2 magic akks.
a properly equipt pro, se, bishop...... all buffers can beat dwarves
and some tanks/melee
wow they can? with crystal staff with mana up or u were thinking wind strike lvl 5.

Im shoure that they can do much at 1vs1 just root and sleep. at massive pvp they rox :P.

There are several topics on the boards about Battle Prophets in heavy. I suggest you search and read them. Good food.
My warlord easily loses to a rooting buffer with a bow, they can keep me rooted 24/7 with not much trouble at all. Even if the C5 nerf means their accuracy is 2, they still have all the time in the world to take me down. As long as their mana lasts anyway.
crystal staff or wind strike? Get a real weapon, one with patk and beat away! ...sleep or root when getting low, retreat and heal back up, rince and repeat... not hard at all. Not to mention, the real part in PvP is group and mass PvP to actually keep your comrades buffed, healed and your enemies controlled (sleep, root) - it doesn't get you a kill score, but it kills and is a vital part of PvP.

A buffer's or healer's true weapon, is the damage dealer he or she supports.

You could always get a bow yourself so you could shoot back.
I spent 5 minutes pvp'ing a gladiator in the arena once. Lol. Sleep, heal, attack, attack, attack, sleep, heal, attack, attack. It was pretty hilarious. We finally gave up because it would never end.

Agreed

When I do deceide to go to the arena for some 1 vs. 1 assuming Im fully buffed and have close to full mana:

-I can take down most nukers that are 6+ levels lower than me. An pretty much all nukers that are a grade lower than me (pretty much if they cant sleep me chances are they are dead or very close too).
-I can take down most melees
-Not tanks cause I cant get through their hp before my mana runs out.... then again Ive enever tried going agaisnt a tank my level or lower >< nvm that.
-No can do against archers

Max damage output setup. Pretty darn good equip for my lvl. No A grade yet.
Root, wack, root, heal, wack, root, heal.... agaisn melees.
Root + wack againt nukers (comes down to who runs out of hp first assuming they cant sleep me)

EDIT: At mass pvp we suck. Better to be in Robes than heavy at seiges, cause the only thing we are good at then is buff.

Working on it, but I need my armor first :( Level 66 still in b-grade armor and a clean entry A weapon.
I borrow a bow for sieges sometimes tho.

I've got a +9 DS Dagger, full BW Heavy all +4 & +4 Doom shield, plus +4 BO jewels. (Prophet)
I have taken down a level 74 Healer & I'm a level 54
I can take down most nukers a few levels lower then me & the ones that are my level, if sleep doesn't land then it's up to whoever has the more MP/HP who will survive.
Melee characters same thing as everyone else,
root, smack, heal, root, smack, smack, heal, heal.
If you really think Healers/Buffers can't 1on1 PVP, you need to watch a good one who knows what they are doing, before offical judgement. For some reason, one of my favourite classes to take down is a BD. Why? because they have good buffs, but my buffs last for a 19min round, he has to keep casting them, which takes time away from him hitting me, and they currently don't have a root or sleep spell.
Just wait till C5 & we get erase or mana burn. Then a pvp Healer/Buffer fight with a Necro/PS/ES/WL will be pretty darn interesting.
(Erase takes away there servitor that is summoned.)
I'm not sure how well Mana Burn will do considering it doesn't take 100% of you mp away. Does anyone know or have tested how much MP it does take away?
Prophets can be absolutely amazing at PvP, with an EE on PTS I won against a DA and OL and HE so don't judge too soon!
wuhhhhh

i'd agree that healers can own most melees if cp didn't exist, and self buffs only...

dwarves???? they have a lot of hp T___T unless you're talking about lowbie dwarves.

btw, what level are your battle-healers/prophets??? mages my level or near my level can outdamage my heals, and magic crits happen often in pvp. i hardly come across a situation where both chars are self buffed, everyone always fully buffed T_T...
Thats why most of our examples were in arena 1 vs. 1 situations. In mass pvp, as you menetioned, everyone is fully buffed. In those situations, prophets normally play a suport role more than activally doing damage.

I have taken down a dwarf my level. Although, you cant immagine how frigggin close I was to dying (no mana left and 1 more hit i would of been dead). Then again, if he had been able to stun he would of killed me. But without stun its borderline doable. They just have too much cp/hp.

Then again, my equipment isnt as impressive as Tiffy's. Weapon is +6 and only other thing thats ++ is my +3 BO jewlery set. Give any prophet Tiffy's equip and tats and you can bet they are dangerous.
Tiffy has -con right??? Wouldn't stun be cake to land...

I don't think battle-healers/prophets are viable at high levels. 60s-70s

im third class wearing B grade with a low a grade weapon
i was 60+ on sub before i finishes my majestic jewles
not the end of the world

and btw wait till c5 to get armor

Man...if their accuracy really WAS 2, wouldn't that be an embarassing way to die?

No real intelligence to this post, I just found that funny.

I like the idea and look of the WL, but unfortunately for me, (and your level 66) they pretty much only serve for cannon-fodder in PvP.

I don't have -con anymore I changed that MUWHAAAA lol
I have +con now & it's deadly hehe ;)
Actually Prophets are more powerful at higher levels especially since they start to get there full skills at 56+. Where most classes don't get full skills till at least 62+

I'm not sure about the accuracy thing, but Prophets are deadly with bows. I currently went out of town in Giran to test my +2 Emi bow. Considering that I have no materies for bows, just buffs I was hitting stuff for 800+ damage & crit for 1010-1035, I even took screenies of it, of course the level of the mobs were lower then me. A healer/buffer class can actually kill people with root/hit/heal/root/hit again. The only problem I find with a bow, even with all my buffs is, I still hit slow & I have quite a lot of misses sometimes I can miss right up to 5 times, with my dagger I hit a lot more & crit a lot more (crit increased to 81) then plus my buffs on top.
Damaged is halved on players, so it would be 400ish, or even less with the pdef factored in. In terms of high levels, I was thinking late 60s-70s. At 50's, everyone has much lower hp, pdef etc.

A buffer's or healer's true weapon, is the damage dealer he or she supports.

Couldn't have said this any better. If you wanted a damage dealing character, you should have started playing a damage dealing killer in the first place instead of one in a support class. :p

Very true but, some people don't pick a support class just to healer or buff either. A Prophet is a good example, they have a very large range of diversity. They can buff/heal & tank if they have too. They were given heavy mastery for a reason, with all those buffs, heavy armour & a skill like root, it gives them enough reason to possibly survive a 1on1 battle. (even if it takes a long time to see a victory at the end)

uhhh...I think that reason is so they don't get 2-shot while supporting their dds not so they'd win a 1vs1... Battle prophets don't do any dmg worth noting at high lvls. By high lvls I mean the 65-78 bracket, or even lower than 65.

Well we weren't really clarified on why we were given heavy mastery..so it could really be for a number of reasons. Of course no healer/buffer class was designed to win in 1on1 fights...Thats why I said POSSIBLY survive, I have before & so have others. :)

@tiffy: trade your dagger and shiled for fists. preferably ones with poison, bleed, or rsk evasion.

health is also a good one, and guidance will stack.

haste is an option only for the very well endowed.

and of course, focus.

fists are a wonderful piece of weaponry and i am surprised how often is overlooked.

@OP: my bishop has had 2 PKs for 3 chronicles. if you want to brag about pvp scores with a buffer, you should get some simple kills. like some unmentionables. they dont hit back, so you dont have to worry about counterattacking. just watch out for enforcers ;)

i once began buffing a little elven fighter just outside of elven village back in c3; at the time she didnt know what buffs were i guess, cause she began attacking me. so i rooted her, walked a bit, spammed bsps and windshotted her until she died.

my first pvp. and with a bishop.

in c3.

no manaburn necessary.

so just stick your trash talk thumbs out the window, and hopefully youll move into an area where lots of pvp happens.... when it does, guesstimate whos got least HP and mdef, zerk them and windstrike.

theyll be dead and youll score pvp points.
wow you must not PVP very much

When I first started I had 3 weapons on my Shillien Oracle. Dagger, Lite Xbow, and dual 107s. I could handle 2 players at once with him at any time. The only time I ever had problems were if the 2nd player was higher in magic resist than myself. Which meant he was at least 4 or more levels above me.

Do not underestimate the healers of this game. Just because most do not know how to use their weapon masteries does not mean they are inadequate in PVP.

***watch out for the Prophets and Warcryers in lite :cool:armor***

On your first char? O.o
It took me like 2 months to earn enough money for my winged spear by selling DSS on my dwarf at level 38 or something.
So, over all your saying that my SE is very good at pvp. She has lvl 45, Divine set with +4 Raid*Raids. What do you think I can change to make better? And what if they did get a magic akk?
o_o wait til you all hit 60s, 70s. se pvp ability = nil
give healers/buffers more matk so we get inline with the nukers..
its no reason to why healers shouldnt have same matk as nukers at same lvl
(more matk = easier to land sleep)

also give healers "mana gain" skills..
nukers have it.. so why dosent healers?
