Which server has the highest population?

I've tried Hindemith and Teon, both starting areas seem very empty. I've heard you don't really see people until later in the game though.

Which server has the highest population? And is there a way of finding the amount of users online?

Well if you are just starting out go to server Franz as it will open september 6 ...

I'm not just starting out :) I've been playing Lineage 2 on and off for a few months. I'm just interested in server populations.

Yup good idea. Started towns will be full of players. On the older servers you wont see many in starter towns.

Later in the game meaning 20+
After levels 20, lots of players start grouping to raid/go to catas/etc.

Stick with it. The alone time prior to level 20 will give you time to get used to your character, and the game itself. I'm a Hindemith player, so I can vouch for that server having a lively population that will keep you interested once you're high enough in level to interact with them in more than just chat.

If you decide to stick with Hinde, send me a PM, as I know of a few lowbies that would be glad to party up with you, if you're really wanting to party pre-20. My Char name is the same as my Forum name.

Teon is probably the most highly populated server at the moment, but that's just a guess.

Really, do go to Franz if you want highly populated starter areas and a really hard start financially.

Its not highly populated starter areas I'm after. I think the question I should be asking is which server has the largest community? I've heard Franz is a French server so I'll definatly not be playing there.

That's a rumour the French made up (or well, someone who isn't actually French at all). I suppose Sieg and Bartz are pretty big and that regard.

One of the things you can do is to make a new LE or DE character on each server and run them to Dion and Giran. Dion is pretty much the L20-L40 town and Giran is where all the big time trading shops are setup. Between those two you can usually get a good idea of what 'shape' the servers population is in. You could run to Aden, but Giran is still the better indicator.

Even better, go to the Gatekeeper in your starter town, and use the free port to go to the Monster Derby track. There is almost always some people there you can talk to and ask about server populations or look for a clan.

Teon has a huge population.

The reason you don't see people is that the game has been out for a while. Since the idea of the game is to participate in PvP, people don't "dally" in the low lvl areas.

You can't port to monster track from starter towns. But you *can* do a simple quest to get an SoE to Giran. It's called something along the lines of Into the World or something with "adventure". You can do this quest at level 3 - ends at around level 12. -To get an SoE back to where you came from, talk to Galladucci in the prestigeous items hall (another quest, slightly more annoying than the one you do to get to Giran).
