Kail's Magic Coin Quest - Coin Collection

Player Questions Started Last reply 26 posts
I've searched endlessly for any tips/comments about this quest and obtaining kail's magic coins for the level 55 quest and have not come up with anything other than those explaining what the quest is.

My question is...

Does it normally take forever to get even one coin from the Fallen Orcs in Forsaken Plains or is there something else I have to do after talking to the head blacksmith in Hunters Village?

I was there hunting alone for a good 2 hours and had not received one coin from any of the orcs.

Thanks to anyone who can provide some input. ;)
Sadly, it does take a while to get the coins. I would go down into that lower "pit" area and kill mobs. I also have that infernium ore quest as there are mobs that drop that as well.

If you can, set up a buy shop at night. Prices for the coins are very low at the moment so you should get a bunch that way. Good luck!

might wanna buy quick
if they add the new weapons to the coin quest in C5 you can expect prices to skyrocket
That's what I was thinking, thanks again for your help! :D
once you start to get coins...then they start pouring in...kill the normal orcs or the silver ones (easiest to get), shamans for blood (hard to get), archers for gold (hard to get) captains for random drop(hard), but like i said...once you start to get themm....they just pour in
p.s. can't get the inf ore quest till 58,
have fun
What is the inf ore quest and what to benefit from it?
you get it in aden, in the WH. you can get A grade weapon parts from it...it's a great quest to have.
The infermium ore quest is kind of like the [Warehouse Keeper's Pasttime] bingo quest at or around level 40, isn't it?

Thanks for the listing of what gives what. I'm sure I'd have figured it out eventually, if I ever get any coins, but that will be a help. :)

This might keep the prices of those coins down. From the patch notes of the PTS.

Coins of Magic

A list of monsters that drop coins has been added. The added monster list may be viewed from Bernard in the Hunters Village.

The quest has been changed to a party-type; therefore all party members who are conducting the quest may gain coins.

Where do get quest to be a coin collector so that can Let's Become a Royal Member?
Hunter's Village, see the WH keeper.

Are you positive about the new recipes added to quest?

Recipe: Flaming Dragon Skull (60%)
Recipe: Doom Crusher (60%)
Recipe: Infernal Master (60%)
Recipe: Spritual Eye (60%)
Recipe: Destroyer Hammer (60%)

Hi all.
sorry to bring up old threads but i have a similiar question about this kail coin quest and i was wondering if i can get the coin drop if i am in the same party but i didnt get the last hit.

I know it was said that the coin of magic quest can be done in a party but what about this Kail's magic coin quest? can it be done in a party without taking the last hit too? thanks alot for the replys
No.
The Royal Coin Quest is a single player type quest. You are required to have last hit in order to be eligible for a quest item.
Hmn.
Well i do know that the Royal Membership Quest needs last hit. I got that part done and then i proceed to the Kail's Magic coin quest.

EDIT:
i get what you mean.. the kail magic quest is a solo quest too. so i just wasted all the coins to get to lvl 1 membership on my SE :(

However i did it on my SE instead of my SH and now i find myself in a fix if i need last hit to get a coin :(
ah the sollution i think is collet money buy common top a gun then collect cash buy normal A top gun and add sa to it ,this quest is waste of time i think sorry for my hardocre thinking :P but thats what i think :)
If you're a priest without a great wolf pet I feel your pain. Stigma + great wolf with good gear and you won't struggle in the least leveling up, or getting "last hit" as their patk is astronomical.
Yep be very careful who you decide,of your toons, that gets the quest.
I tried it first with my ws,wanting to put all the top a grade weapon
recs into my craft book, however it takes longer to run from one mob
to the next,so then I did the quest on my sorc, and managed to get the
coins easier that way.Took a long, long time to get enough coins for
all the recs I wanted, thankfully this was all before vitality came around.

It wasn't a waste of time three years ago when this thread started...still a decent way for dwarves to get their recipes. :)
There's a good wikipedia guide to the whole coin quest. Google it.
I recently farmed enough coins for 2 recipes with my Sorceror.

Seems the drop rate is about 1 in 50 kills.

Also seems that you go on and on for a very long time with no drops and then you get 2, or 3 in close succession. Lesson is when you get one coin keep farming till you get at least 1 more before giving up.
