Transfer funds between servers??

Player Questions Started Last reply 21 posts
Well I'v just spoken with a guy on Teon who came from some other server.
He told me that he had like 100kk on Kain and he them transfered into 50kk Teon adena.

Is this an official option or how?.

I'v never heard about this before, but I sure could imagine a lot of rich players on Franz from the beginning.

I know for sure if I sold all my assets I would proberbly have more then 700kk on Teon equals 350kk on Franz.
No, it's not an official service. It's done by players and the catch is obvious, as well is their reason for doing it.

I'm not sure if it's legal. I would research if it was before looking into it.
The strange thing is the the player told me that it was done by NCSoft and NOT some other "company".

Maybe he was just a little confused, maybe it was an other "company" that made the transfer for him.
Ya, it was another company, not NCSoft. Sites that sell adena give this option. They take your adena on one server, and give you 50% (Sometimes more, sometimes less. Depends on how much adena they have on the two servers being transfered from/to) on another. So, it'll be awhile before the cheaters can do this on Franz
There is no official way to transfer adena from server to server. Unless you find somebody who stops playing on the server you want to move to and wants to start on the server you are leaving from (so that you can simply trade adena), there are no legal ways to do it (i.e. ways which are not against the EULA).
Ohhh, nice I'm glad to hear that, because it's not fair to the players that start from scratch on eg. Franz.

And btw, I'm not moving to Franz, because I have put to much efford in Teon. Besides it's on Teon I have all my characters history and experiences, and it's here all the friends are. :)

Why is there no legal way to do it?

The exchange of ingame goods for ingame goods is not illegal.
And I can't recall that "inter server trades" are against the EULA.

But if it is against the EULA I would like to know in what points,
cause I've always told people on our german forums that it is not
illegal and I don't want to get them in any trouble because I told
them something wrong (as we are listed as an official fan site).
i think its more that the companies charge you for that service that would make it against the eula.
According to "Rules of conduct" the following is stated:

10. You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying, selling, trading, sharing, or transferring access to any Lineage II account.

11. You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying or selling items for cash or trading items from one server to another.

So actually I think it's not allowed to according to the above, as far as I understand.
But it would surly be nice to have an official statement form NC (Mistryl perhaps :) )
Yes, that's it exactly. In the case of "adena on one server for adena on another server" it is simply that the companies who offer this service ... are companies who offer this service, and that is against the EULA. And it would be pretty naive to think that there is no RL money involved even though you trade adena for adena. I mean, what do people think that these companies do with the adena they get when they give you 50m adena on server B for 100m adena on server A? Just keep it in the wh? No, they sell it to players for RL money.

Oh darn, thanks for this, must have over-read it.
Well, well at least I can cite the right place now if any questions about this come up again.

"trading items from one server to another" kind off doesn't leave any open spots here.

Anyway I'd really want to get an official statement if it's illegal like we understood it here or if the "professional" stuff is meant, where real world currencies play a role.

Ohhh, nice I'm glad to hear that, because it's not fair to the players that start from scratch on eg. Franz.

Lol! You've always been more realistic Triz!
There will be players in B-grade in 8 hours (supposedly starting from scratch)--there will certainly be twinked players who 'start from scratch' and magically accumulate 20 million adena in 3 hours and buy the best gear available from giran.
There may not be lvl 70's for them to "buy" since none of those exist on that server to sell---but there will CERTAINLY be players unaccountably richer than everyone else and it won't take long.
First hour=unattended automated players gather millions.
Second hour=some player on Franz buys adena
Third hour=some guy shows up in gludin with full brig set and sword of revolution.

So much for 'starting equal'.
There are a lot of good reasons to play a new server. I may try it myself (though I just restarted on Devianne to get the experience again).
"We'll all be equal" is not one of those good reason imo. I have this image that the first player will show up in a-grade (somehow) after like 4 days---haha.

Rewind the tape here---contrary to popular opinion, it isn't unmentionable players and item selling websites that make the old servers like they are.....it's the PLAYERS on those servers who willing participate in that crap.
2 days after Franz opens the threads about unmentionable player = condemnation will start. Few will condemn the folks running around in top-D gear in 1 day.
NO ONE will condemn those so-called "uber players" who cheated when they hold all castles, all power, and define the server a month from now.
Half the server will be trying ti kiss the cheater's butts!

So according to this...it's against the eula to shout out: "I am leaving my account, and will be giving away all my items if you come to the GK"... because it's advertising the intent to "trade" ?? :S

No, that's giving stuff away. Trading between servers is totally different.

I don't think (I may be wrong) that they mind so much if "real" players trade with eachother across servers, as much as doing it via an adena selling company.
well yes... actually it's against the EULA.
I think the reason for this being illigal is that the player that gets all the nice stuff will get an advantage over player who dident get the stuff.

But if thats the reson, then I can count numerous situations like this, where some players will have an advantage over other players. Just think about the "common Clan Warehouse" a lot of clans keep good items in the clan wharehouse to lend to new players so they can ease the leveling.
Or the fact that a lot of players start her because there friends have played here for a long time. They will ofcause get help in terms of items, adena, buffs, advice, power leveling and so on.

And that's exactly why I would like to hear some words from Mistryl or some other GM about this. I don't plan on doing it myself, I just need to stay kinda informed about these things...

You're not going to get them to say it's okay. Again, go back to the EULA. It's designed to protect NCSoft. If they say it's okay and someone gets scammed out of their gear, they can say "it's against the EULA so no we won't fix your problem."
Just to officially confirm, cross-server trades of adena and items are not allowed per the Rules of Conduct (http://www.lineage2.com/legal/rules.html):

You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying or selling items for cash or trading items from one server to another.
I fell a deja-vu come by :)
well its totaly clear that its not allowed if you read what Mistryl wrote.

You may not commit the act of trading items from one server to another. (shorted down version)

its black on white, you are not alloved to do it.

Not in a day , a couple of weeks maybe
it will take more than an hour for them to "gather millions"
remeber they will be started ungeared them selves starting with nothing and building up.
Second you cant have a full brig set with out the mats to make the helms which also requires the recipes. The drop rate for the mats and teh
These things will not be gotten in an hour or a day.
