I too have just started playing this game after WoW boredom set in. After spending about 2 days on the forums I was seriously anxious about playing after hearing about bots/scammers/farmers. However, after a few hours on my dwarf I suddenly realised...Im only level 12, Ive got no skills, no armour... yet Im in a great party and Im having more fun that I ever did in WoW. Im actually a little amazed WoW is more popular than Lineage 2... In any case, cant wait to level up to 20 and become a scavenger. :)
Oh really? Ah I figured I could make money with it...I quite enjoy spoiling items. Hmmm what would you suggest then? I'm having fun with it so far though
dont listen to these guys. Play what you enjoy playing. Sure scavengers/Bounty Hunters arent the best at PVP. They do have loads of HP and at level 40 they get fake death...ultimate skill!! Bounty Hunters are wanted in high level parties especially around level 74+.
You will take a long time to get 74+. Scavy/Bounty Hunter is also good for polearm parties, playing with a polearm in a polearm party is probably the funnest way to level your character, also the fastest.
If you find your character getting boring, you can always make a new one and freight all your wealth to the new character and get a head start!
I played a warsmith to level 58 and leveled it entirely with a polearm, and I enjoyed playing it. I do enjoy spoiling too, I have a lvl 24 scavenger. I play him every once in awhile too.

What's your in-game name, I think I can get you a lil something ;)
Yeah, always play what you want. Dwarves arnt exactly in the highest demand for parties, and dont get a ton of pvp skills, but they are fun to play. I know when im in a Dimension Rift group, I always want a BH in the group. ++++ Goodies

a dwarf is bloody boring to lvl... and has no pvp skills.. I recomd something more partyable... noone really needs scavs or bounty hunters anymore..
Not a wise choice if you wanna continue playing this game... you'll quit out of frustration and lack of parties...
Ok WarSmiths can be hard to lvl. I am one, but I get polepartys which is about the best leveling in the game. Also about the PVP, if you go WarSmith then you can pvp. Nothing like a 71 WS taking out a 76 BD and 75 Glad :O
My advice... something my mate did but I missed out on...
Make a shedload of money on a Dorf- aka get to 40+ and start some serious crafting, or just spoil your little heart out. Sit on the sidelines for a short time, as you make money, and learn about what is best, what isn't, what altogether sucks, and what would suit your style. THEN start your ideal race and class with a shedload of money. Voila.
Lol.
Simple but apparently effective.
But Good Luck and I hope you continue to enjoy the game, no matter what you end up doing. It is a totally different experience to WoW, as you already know.
PS I thoroughly endorse and give major kudos for your use of the word 'bloody'.
I completely agree, play what you enjoy. ;) And as said, if you find later on you've become bored with your BH, you can always reroll and have a ton of cash to start with.

Dwarves are fun till the warsmith class change at 40. Then you'll wish you were ANYTHING but a dwarf!
A dwarf a 30+ with a glaive in a cata grouped---wow! Fun.
Generally if u like hitting stuff with swords, go DD (mostly glads, Bladedancers, etc.)
If you like killing stuff with 1 click--go offensive mage (nuker--figuratively).
If you like holding a boss and taking damage like a man--you are a tank at heart and won't be satisfied with whimpy nukers or tender DD's (which means pally/Dark Avenger types).
At 30 as a BH in training (scavi) you can probably make a lot of money either taking multiple animal bones from Basilisks and lesser basilisks in Wastelands through spoil or with manor in NOS.
As others have said, this will easily allow you to put top NG gear on whatever char you choose as 2nd toon.
DE figher is absurdly simple to level to 20, same with orc fighter. Even Light elf figher (if you like melee) outfitted in top NG will go quickly.
I don't have much exp with various spell-casters but DE mage is fairly quick.
The advantage to all I've mentioned is that their class change quests are simple and relatively cheap.
If you try to take that dwarf through the "toma quests" you're going to LOVE the other class change quests! He's a stinker.
Good luck on what ever you play. I will say though, the REASON my DA leveled was because my dwarf was there making really cheap shots and stuff and accumulating money!
I've only been playing for 9 months. I also have 2 toons leveled nicely on Devianne and two on the new server Franz.
It doesn't take forever to get toons leveled to where you can enjoy the game.
GL!

'I want my money back! I'm down here drowning in your fat. You got me on my knees praying for everything you lack. I ain't afraid of you. I'm just a victim of your fears. You cower in your tower praying that I'll disappear, I got another plan, one that requires me to stand. On the stage or in the street, don't need no microphone or beat. And when you hear this song, if you ain't dead then sing along. Bang and strum to these here drums til you get where you belong!'

That rules no-one I know has even heard of him. The man's a freakin genius.
But yeah- Dwarves are good fun, in retrospect, but I shall reiterate; money is always good, especially when rerolling. Who better to make it than Dwarves!
