i just dont really see why ppl call others **** if they have never seen them. Would be like me looking at someone in a picture and saying "hey they smell bad"
Yeah, was cool at first but now I end up hearing the same play list over and over...
Well, no one has thousands to spend on music. It's going to take time for them to expand what they can play. Remember they are the one that have to go out and buy the music.
Unfortunately, When we tell people to show up for auditions and an interview...
They don't show up...I get lots of applications and then when it seems that we are going to actually do something with them all the people just go "O_O" and dont show up. Some are showing up but i can only work with what i have.
It's my goal not to have a playlist but if i dont have the people to fill in the time. I dont have anything.
That part during the interview where you asked me for my Lineage master account user name sent me back pedaling on the issue, thats where i went "O_O" . I think thats where you lost alot of us.

You misunderstood. I could almost predict the next song because they were played in the same order. And, yeah, it's generally because I play (and listen) during the same times. I understand the reasons, dude. I know the realities of the situation. My CD collection (I don't download) is huge but started almost 20 years ago.
Just wondering. As there are sieges and the like (right now). How about a sports-radio item about how the interesting sieges are going? Just as with other sports. Not sure if it is feasable of course, just an idea.
lol trust me...only person that sees any of that info is me and NCSoft when they do the background check on your character.
and i dont save the info anywhere, after i send it to the person i need to i throwout/shred your account info. I dont want it. lol
shonen
But still 2 years with having been told that under no circumstances are we allowed to share that information with anybody. Not even our beloved granny. This is a major hurdle to take. It would mean the end of the interview with me as well if I had the inclination to become a dj.
We are afraid of giving away party positions...lol and i would say it could possibly get REALLY boring....
because if its just a dj talking about the siege....eh
and its also impossible for us to target ALL the seiges since they all happen at the same time.
Which makes people feel left out :/ which i dont want. So its tough. I was thinking of having some power hour kinda thing during seige times so taht everyone would be fully charged and ready to go while Seiging!
A simple idea: Ask for the official forum name instead, NCSoft can track back the master account from that without effort, as the forum runs off the game accounts, and the game accounts are obviously linked to their master accounts. ;)
Nobody has to tell you secret information, and NCSoft can do their checks.
Yeah, it aint easy with 10 servers tghat all need to be helped. Still, only 5 servers are sieging at the same time. Most of the times, only a few sieges have the promisse to be interesting. So you could do a quick whats happening on server X with siege Y from a correspondent on that server. Then play a song and move to the next server.
Same thing when you learn that on server X - something interesting is happening. Like on Hindemith lately with a group going for Dusk and taking it as well.
Re: Siege reports
In German football, every Saturday and sometimes Saturday, they have a "football conference" transferred from the radio. It's very interesting (or so my dad claims), but you pretty much need one person at every game/siege to pull it off properly I think. ;)
Instead of a report on everything going on, of course, you could always do a once-a-week featured in game event, from a player PvP tourney to sieges. But reporting that kind of thing in an interesting manor is much more difficult than it looks.

a background check??? on an avatar?? ROFL what HAS the world come to...ROFL again
requirements for L2 radio:
have you ever been convicted of a scam? (for a list of L2 scams see page 3)
have you ever done time in floran village? if so please list dates with offenses.
have you had intimate pms with anyone that has immediate family members living in reston, virginia, after 1985?
have you ever attempted to use a hair change potion to fool the guards into thinking you were someone else?
does it hurt when you pee?

lol that made me laugh :)
I am curious as to what they are looking for when they investigate an account too.. I suppose they don't want massive cheaters to DJ on the radio, but it makes me wonder (if that's the case) why they'd be more protective of a radio station than the actual game servers.
That part during the interview where you asked me for my Lineage master account user name sent me back pedaling on the issue, thats where i went "O_O" . I think thats where you lost alot of us.
I said why already :) to see if you have been banned from any NC game.
And asides from that why on earth do need a master account name?
And at the time that was what they came up with checking a person. I did pose the question to Mistryl and she said the same can be done with just using a persons email address, if they are using that route i don't know.
I said why already to see if you have been banned from any NC game.
I know you said that, can't really see why that matters really. Any less that it matters wether you've been banned from UO or EQ.
And seriously, who the hell would apply with a banned account anyway, getting an unbanned account is very very easy.
And at the time that was what they came up with checking a person. I did pose the question to Mistryl and she said the same can be done with just using a persons email address, if they are using that route i don't know.
Well, the only time it might make sense is that the radio is considered part of NCSofts service.
Applying through forumname would make a heck of alot more sense, its public, it doesn't reveal your private information, NCSoft can still in an event something happens get to your account through your forum account and you cannot post or respond on the forum if you're banned.
That part during the interview where you asked me for my Lineage master account user name sent me back pedaling on the issue, thats where i went "O_O" . I think thats where you lost alot of us.
Oh yea, you would have lost me there too.
Yep ! This is scarry for peeps in L2...
But Mistryl confirms you can just give them the e-mail addy associated with your master account.
Yup Email addy ASSOCIATED with the master account (aka when you get that reset pw email thats where it goes to) or master account....
I then pass it directly off a NCSoft Representitive.
And you are right. I dont want scammers, botters, people who have been banned or anyone that has caused MASSIVE problems on my station because people that cause trouble in game will CERTAINLY cause trouble that i will have to deal with on the station associated with the game. That's NOT what im looking for in staff. If you dont have anything to worry about, just like in a real job, you shouldnt worry about a background check.
i'm keeping this radio clean of activies against the EULA as possible. Thats my job. To give you entertainment and not have a problem cause on the stream.
Sorry if the background check freaks you out, but NCSoft is working really close with us on this. So its really not a huge deal.

I'd do it but for a number of reasons...
I don't like the software you expect the DJ's to use, it has some nice features but is also quite crude and irritating in places.
I don't like the minimum amount of time you specify on the site, 9 hours (minimum) is a long time for a week of volunteer DJing, that's several long shows.
I also dislike the fact that you only really want a few restrictive genres of music for the radio. I could play those kinds but I specify in others.
Not sure why the genres must be so restrictive, many people I've spoken to who have listened to L2Radio feel it's just the same music 24/7 and would like a difference.
I'd gladly give some variation, but not with those terms :P
SAM is far from Crude. Its highly customizable and EASY to use. If you dl the trial and play around with it, it becomes almost like second nature. FAR FAR FAR from crude. SAM broadcaster is being updated with new features all the time.
9 hours a week....3 hour sets....3 shows a week...over a 7 day period? thats too much?? I'm sorry if that doesn't fit YOUR schedule but there are other positions availible that are less taxing.
I dont care what genre you play and im getting what is said on the site to change. I'm not just looking for Rock DJs. I'm trying to grab all genres. ((In fact, I have a few NON rock DJs, just they need to be trained))
The music is the same 24/7 BECAUSE i have a skeleton crew trying to run a 24/7 a week station with the same playlists. **I** need people to come and audition with me to at least talk to them and explain alot about our operation.
You want to play a different genre....DO IT! I dont care. Bring it.
I know the website say differently but I'm getting that changed. I need more people if you all want this to grow.
There have been some new DJs added to the mix and more are on the way. Over the past week I've heard more variety on L2 radio than I hear on most of the radio stations on FM.
I think it's fine that people have criticisms of the radio show. But for what it's worth, we have volunteers playing their own music for the purpose of bringing a great feature to the community that is FOR the community and of course by the community.
Realistically, anyone who has even the remotest expectation that L2 radio should be on par with commercial internet radio stations is simply trying to pizz in everyone's cornflakes. No sense in trying to reason with them, they don't grasp the concept of realistic expectations and will never be satisfied.
To those people who honestly have an interest in the radio station should continue to offer feedback, suggestions and criticisms... let's just remember to be realistic and fair.
Shonen puts in a LOT of hours at L2Radio organizing things, interviewing people and filling in when there are no DJs playing. It isn't cool to put him on the defensive unduly.
For example. Skyler calls the SAM broactaster crude. Ok, he may be right... but he isn't being constructive with his criticism. If he instead, suggested software that he has found to be an improvement over Sam and provided a link or at least the name and a reason or two why he has come to his conclusion, THAT would be constructive.
Instead of saying "you play the same music all the time" why not... for example... make a request to the DJ. You might be surprised at what is sitting in their playlist. Or make some musical suggestions here or better yet, visit them at www.lineageradio.com (http://www.lineageradio.com) and make your suggestions there?
I swear to Steve Martin that if some of you didn't complain you'd have absolutely nothing to say.
I am enjoying lineageradio, good stuff. Doesn't really seem repetititve to me.
And guys, here's a little secret If you're playing Lineage 2 and want a song, bring up the ingame MSN and message the DJ with a request. That way you can get what you want (if the DJ has it and it isn't Shonen and you're requesting the Hamster Dance).
It is a *volunteer* radio station, they're doing a great job and Shonen is managing it very well. \o/ to Shonen for his work.
Board name will work too, but not everyone who applies is registered on the official message board. :) As Splatter mentioned, the email address is also fine as long as it is tied to your account.
lol trust me...only person that sees any of that info is me and NCSoft when they do the background check on your character.

Exactly, you don't care so you'll just put them on the back burner.
All the while they see bot DJs on the air.
I would suggest you devise an "automated" manner to train your new prospects. Then a small test could be devised in order to deem the DJ "On-air" ready.
Move the bots off the air, and into training live players.
You can also use experienced DJ's to act as mentors for other peeps.
My biggest problem about your format is : Every new DJ comes on the air and says : "Sorry guys, I'm flooded here, it's a lot of fun but there are just too many PM's...". You should really devise a plan to better channel requests, shoutouts and whatnot and take a load off the on the air DJs.
Your program is just not as sophisticated as mine. Mine has speech analysis and intonation detectors. It also hashes the music played. Oh it also has networking capabilities.
Did you listen correctly ? I mean, this chick not only has a **** voice, she is on fire !
I'm not trying to be a pain just aired a few views I had.
The software is fine for the broadcasting side of things, but in terms of mixing tracks or anything of that variety it's crude and annoying.
I've got it again and am taking a look at it to see if I can get used to it, and to see if I can get my decks working with it as I would much prefer being able to work with vinyl to mix with than mp3's.
I'm all about the music, although I probably wouldn't have much trouble talking a lot, finding a subject to talk about aside from the music is not something I always want to do. As a DJ I feel I am there to provide an experience to the listener which in my eyes is the music.
If you're saying one three hour show per week is acceptable as well as any genre in music (I can do a lot), and I can get myself happy with this software I'd consider applying :P
I fully understand why it's under autoplaylist half the time and I don't find myself feeling the need to complain about that aspect of the show.
