also, haste is more expensive, it takes more ss to do basically the same damage as focus would do. nice calculations tho painamplifier ^^
HaHa! Forgot about that until you mentioned it.
I tend to level with minimal shot usage when solo since I am trying to maximise cash income. As an OL with a pet (His food is my biggest expense). I don't carry SS because of weight issues. (I carry robes AND Heavy) And when partied SS's on my low patk (Most mobs I end up against because everyone else is higher than me are Blood red.) doesn't add an appreaciable amount of damage. (So I just carry BSPS instead.) Also until C5 hits our heal doesnt benefit from SpS, buffs dont need em, and most seals/drains are a waste of MP. Sleep and the occasional root/silence get the BSPS, but everything else is pretty much the same with or without.
HOWEVER. Since 99.9% of everyone else out there (besides the mechanical ones.) practically has a Shot IV feed to their weapon, yes you should also consider Shot useage.
So, since Haste just makes you swing faster you will use the exact same amount of SS per swing...you will just use it faster. In a group, this means the faster you swing compared to everyone else, the more adena in SS your using.
For Crit.Damage and Focus however, Every additional time you Crit the Shot usage means you get yet another damage multiplier bonus.
So [Crit.Damage] would be 2(2X+SA) while Focus would be 2(2X).
Lets see if my math holds up again.
(3x SS use on Berzerker Blade)
[No SA] = 1K Swings 8%Crit + SS = 216,000 (3k SS)
[Crit.Damage] = 1K Swings 8% Crit + SS = 223,200 (3K SS use)
[Focus] = 1K Swings 15% Crit + SS = 230,000 (3K SS use)
[Haste] = 1070 Swings 8% Crit +SS = 231,120 (3210 SS use)
210 SS @17a = 3,570 adena.
Without buffs the Haste costs a bit more over time for a hair more damage. Once you buff up with those crit buffs though....
(If your a Tyrant spamming SS...might want to pick the Totem that lets you hit harder...not faster.)
