First im wondering when im near the undead how come requiem does not always worka round white mobs? Do I have to select a mob for it to work or does it work only within close range? 2nd- How well do you experience the Repose skill working as it seems to be like a lesser version of requiem?
Any other tips on playing this class well would be appreciated especially from anyone who plays a bishop as thier Main.
Thanks :)
The Bishop in my Overlord's clan is excellent and maybe he will be willing to give some advice. Ellie is also a Bishop (I've never seen her play one but can't imagine her less than stellar at it) and I'm sure she can help you too.
Both skills are borderline completely useless. Anyway requiem is like a castable silent step for undead. If you cast it and run past undead that are normally aggro they are supposed to ignore you. Unfortunately ncsoft mixed a lot of non undead in with undead.

Repose makes undead stop attacking you when they were already attacking you. It casts much faster than requiem but it can fail. If they are attacking you and it succeeds they just stand there and start random movements after a few seconds. (it tells you if it fails to disarm) I've only used this a handful of times and requiem almost never. From what I've seen if you cast repose and then move, they reaggro immediately. Anyway there you go, I'll try it again later to see if it gets any better.. lol

Oh and no you don't have to select the mob, it works at close range.
thanks Ellie. Lvl 76 Bishop wow!! I kneel humbly before you that had to take some serious effort and patience. HOpefully NCSoft will improve upon these 2 skills in C5. As I heard they are improving upon the distance of massrez and a couple other skills. lol
Mass rez now has a range of 900, I was buzzed like I was on crack after hearing that :P
Farming 8 new books will take some time, though - or cost a lot.

Concerning the requiem, i only got it working one or two times on white/green mobs. Mostly use it to greate disco lights while waiting for raid force to gather.

Yes, that seems to be the main use for it. Music crystal+requiem+dance animation.
Right.. exactly... ha ha :) I've used repose, for example, in ancient battlefield but almost every time I get a few fails even on white/green mobs. Since it's such a specialized spell it really should work a lot better.

Requiem disables attack behaviour of undeads standing nearby. The spell is centered on bishop so it does not provoke undeads. The range is not shown anywhere but I assume it to be 600 range of spell effect.
You should use the spell prior to entering agro range of undeads. If spell works, mobs are not aggro for 1 minute and you can pass by unattacked.
It works pretty well if you have empower and use bsps. If you don't - use it 2-3 times.

Repose reduces aggro value of undeads. It's useful only after you (or someone else) has aggro and does not prevent new agression of undeads. It works best if you land requiem before.

In conjunction these two spells can help your party to pass undead zone with minimal interaction. At room entrance you use requiem, then the whole partry comes through the room (not attacking even if undeads attack you), using more requiems if room is big to cover the whole room.
Once your party leave the room (and undeads are out of room as well), you use repose a pair of times and few undeads following your party will turn back and won't bother your party again.
Unfortunately general party won't get it. Generally people start hitting mobs back and the whole idea is getting screwed.

I've been using requiem and repose quite effective during C3 times at Ancient Battlegrounds when I came to res. I got through undeads untouched :) Resurrection of people is quite possible with this even if they are dead in between of aggro undeads. Just 1 requiem and you have full minute to res and get out. If it's not enough, just cast another requiem :)
