Ok, so my crafter is about to make the move from crafting D shots to C shots.
With D shots, I could always buy some gear from the public armour store to crush which (while not ideal) was still profitable.
With C crystals though, there's only really the luxury store...
So what is the best way of getting the crystals? Setting up a buy store seems so painstaking...
if you have a lot of d cry, you could look into crafting something simple, like mithril boots. the parts spoil of low level mobs, and they take D crystals, not C crystals, to craft. you expense here is a single c grade gemstone, instead of a whole item, so the profit is higher but the effort is more too, sicne u need to make a BH to get the parts for you.
Crafting Dual SORs when buying from a shop seems crazy as the cost per crystal would exeed 3300. on Kain you can buy C crystals in Giran for <3100.
My preferred method is to spot bargains in private stores and crush them for their crystals. I rarely pay more than 2800 per crystal this way and often get as low as 1500.

on gustin crafting duel elven swords gets you C crys at about 3050 each
that being said you can fairly easily buy them on the street cheaper

On Kain you can buy two Elven swords and dual them at the blacksmith in town for 3035a C crystals. (depending on the tax rate) Which lets you craft C Bsps for 99-100a C bsps has been selling for around 110-115a

well i started out buying swords at heine since the tax rate was too high in giran
when the giran tax dropped low enough i started doing the maths
i didnt check all duel options but out of the about 6 i checked elven*elven came out with the cheapest C cry value
