If a train of TOI 9 mobs came down on me, can i drop my main equipped primary weapon?
I remember back in c2 i'd drop it now and then, and hear a bunch of stories from people dropping they primary weapon. I don't hear it much anymore. Did something change?
I dont think anything has changed, I think the chance of dropping rate has significantly decreased from what it used to be. But equipped Items are not always the ones which you'll drop. ^^
This is going to be ugly, because this software doesn't do tables well, but here is the current status of player drops. (NOTE: This is the way it is right now - it was not always this way, and may not always be this way in the future. Please do not petition about previous drop issues)
You CAN NOT drop an equiped wearpon when you are five or less PK or white.
I have droped my weapon after beeing killed by an mob. I had 0 PK and karma...I then e-mailed NCNA and they claimed that I draged my weapon on the ground and that it was my fault lol
I also droped my adena once, you all know that it is suposed to be imposible.

it IS impossible :/ they probebly seen the code... and if it says adena =!drop then.. thats that :p same goes for dropping your weapon. if its hard coded, and it really doesnt have to be alot of code, so hard to get a bug in that, it just wont happen

I remember this discussion a bit differently. My impression was that NCsoft said you were not supposed to be able to drop your equipted weapon unless you were red with over 5 PKs. But they then added that you should petition if it happened.
To me, this says there is a freakish way for it to occur. If it does, TAKE SCREENSHOTS and then petition. A friend of mine had this happen, but without screenshots, he did not get his weapon back.

Since I see you have programming skills of say a million line program, I guess you could say that. But if, as it looks by your comment, you are still doing the "Hello World" in vbscript, I don't think you have any room to make such a rude statement.

actually i have done some game codeing
fair enough its with a bastardised version of c++ with gamestudio and i suck at doing it, but honestly it only takes one single line of code to decide if something drops or not, not that hard to do right :P
I would seriously doubt it's a single line of code to decide that. The code has to go through a bunch of logic to determine if an item CAN be dropped (PK count, Karma, equipped weapon? quest item? adena? etc), and then if it can, it uses the RNG to decide if it WILL be dropped. It also has to determine how many items will drop. And since this is a very dynamic environment, parameters are in a constant state of change, so it's going to be problematic at times. Bugs do happen...any programmer (even the best ones) know that.
The code I work on currently consists of 11750 files and has more than 10 million lines of code. To believe a system like this is simple and decisions are made with a single line of code is just...ignorant.

As SargeNC states then, server setting set to such state that primary equipped weapon can't be dropped at all if you ain't pk with 5+ pk count. Mizwisfist, quoted that reply.
And there was also one notice, like: "That wasn't always been so and it ain't guaranteed that it will be so later"
So if settings wasn't changed since then, you can depend on this drop table.
