I'm using full doom set at 52.
No tat (though I'm guessing defense is always going to be more vital to a tank than patk).
Still solo in Enchanted Valley atm.
I can certainly understand the question--solo'ing a DA is slow work and it seems there should be some arrangement with tats/armor/weapon that will make them a BladeDancer-type DD.
There isn't.
They are what they are good at---tanking.
That means solo'ing (which is really the quick and efficient grinding of mobs) is not going to be pretty.
Spend the money, summon the kitty, and between the two eventually everything up to "light red" will die before the DA does.
Solo for DA is also a bit counter-intuitive if I might say so...a tank takes that damage (by design)......for a GROUP (1, 2, raid, whatever).
Might as well find groups and tank for them.
For solo'ing i think id go with zubei
Tat's for pve maybe -con with +str/+dex because at the end of the day, you still need to replenish hp lots regardless of what you have to start with, and the additional strength or dex will increase your damage output.
Solo at 52 hmm, i would recommend the back end of the cemetary with your panther.
I don't play a tank by the way, this is just speculation :P
whats it with doom heavy their is almost nothing good about it
Zubei heavy gives 5,24% P.def over the amount of P.def sounds like a much better deal especaily if this guy going to enchent it a lot
It has alot to do with shield defense.
Zubies may give you +5.24% extra defence.
That really isnt that much even with 1000 pdef thats still only a 52 def increase. The difference is minimal since doom has more base pdef anyway .
Doom gives you +24% sheild defense rate, mix in the shield masteries a da gets, and you have yourself a full blow tank that is going to take way less damage than he would with zuibies.
Remeber DA's are tanks wtih pathers to do the damage.
On a last note.... Doom looks better than zubies on any character
I solo a DA, and love the Doom armor, but it gives you a -3 to your STR which is just brutal for soloing. To counter that, I got a +4 STR / -4 CON tat. It's worked pretty well. I never really worry about health, especially if you have an SE buffer around (mmmmm VR) and I don't really have a problem soloing light reds. Just in case I carry a few hundred GHP, but In an hour of grinding I rarely use more than a dozen.
I haven't really used the panther much. He does do a little bit of damage, but even with beast-shots it's maybe 1/4 the damage I do per hit. Factor in a few GSAP and his damage ratio drops even lower. I do use him when I'm grinding alone sometimes, but almost never in a party.
