So, they finally decide to allow free trials to become much more available, yet noone below level 50 is able to invite their friends since SP is that hard to get... Great.
if you havent noticed c5 is about large clans not 5 person clans.
Level 4 clans cant have academies so its pointless for a low level person to join them since if they join a big clan they get all the benefits of that clan and free armour.... hmmm hard choice.
Actually its level 48-60 thats the hard ones for most classes, after 60 you start getting tonnes of SP (hell most of my characters in the high 60's have 6-10+ million excess SP)

I was in the same boat, until I got to level 70. I always had plenty of SP to get all my skills pre-70, but from 70+ I've been way short. Now, at level 74 and 42%, I just barely have enough to learn the rest of my 74 skills.
Untrue, 76, 77 and 78 skills are very very expensive. A PvPer (who died a lot) should have enough to buy all skills at 76, but be missing some for 77 and a lot for 78, most 78s I know PvP in a regular basis yet it takes quite a bit into 78 to get all your skills.
Before this is never an issue though.
Aye...Kayo is right...I've never had a problem with SP for my PvP'rs...or the dwarves...course they don't get much in terms of skill set.
this myth was already cleared up by maline
dwarves actually spend slightly more sp than the average class
sure we only have like 6 skills from 0-74 but no other class spends millions of sp for a weapon or armor mastery :P
BTW im short 70+ million sp to get all my skills
This is fixed rather effectively by not getting light armor mastery and cure bleed and wild swing etc....I didn't have any issues with my dwarves...but I didn't teach them everything I guess...for instance they learned polearm mastery and wraith...but not whirlwind.
I don't think my brother learned any light armor masteries on his OL either...I didn't bother to learn any dagger skills on my HE till 71 when he had enough extra that that little bit din't count for much.
I guess when I think of all of a players skills I think of the ones that I will use...I didn't get entangle on the ele. heal on the SR until the 3rd time I started lvling him because I was always with a party, and didn't need it...likewise he never learned any cure bleed or cure poison I don't believe.
You're right probably if I tried to teach the dwarves EVERYTHING I'd be 70 mil + shy also 0.o
Of all the classes though there are more skills from their nonexistant skil set that can be skipped to save you a lot of SP.
well technically we need all skills
cure bleed actually works if you hunt fod vampires
light armor is better for pve
i solo with a blunt
i xp with a pole
wrath is basically the only pvp skill we have
Actually, how much SP a class has spare is determined pretty much solely by the amount of junk skills they have - and dwarves, if they want to be flexible, do indeed need all of their pole skills, their pole attack skills (in case they get a party). Masteries for blunts and cure bleed are argueable, light armour mastery is not.
I think the class with most junk skills is probably the SPS (freezing shackle, ice wall, energy bolt, surrender to earth, freezing skin, curse:weakness), but I might be thinking way wrongly here.
For my EE, I'm not buying masteries (I ain't PvPing anyway) and Might of Heaven, but I don't know what else I should skip - even Decrease Weight and Kiss of Eva 2 are relevant to some members of my clan.
For my ES, I have to buy Unicorn Boxer (MP battery), Unicorn Mirage (PvP, farming), Unicorn Merrow (PvE), Unicorn Seraphim (groups), Life Cubic (++ emergency heals that never go off, if it hadn't ocasionally saved my butt I wouldn't worry about this), Aqua Cubic (for farming with the mirage and griefing), Mass Aqua Cubic (a must in parties), both armour masteries (I often wind up taking aggro if I'm by myself), transfer pain, servitor heals, servitor recharges (the merrow is an MP sink), servitor cure and servitor blessing (thanks for being unable to use antidotes, NCSoft), and of course misc regeneration passives.
It depends of course vastly upon the player how many junk skills you wind up with - but I honestly don't see any "junk" on dwarves except maybe cure bleed.
Even then Bandage will not make much difference, cause there are only 3 lvls off that skill.
As SE I skip Kiss of Eva2, Wind Resistant3...that makes a few 100k SP I can keep to upgrade the essential skills immediately when I get my new lvl skillset.
I'm currently skimping on heals when I first upgrade - it doesn't make that much of a big difference if you're using the old heals or not. :D Buffs -> Recharges -> Heals IMHO.

you make a good point about junk skills
i stand behind my belief that cure bleed is a needed skill
in pvp its useually better to ignore bleed
if you hvae vr you usually ignore it in pve as well
but there is the odd occasion where you absolutely have to cure bleed to survive, especially at fotd vampires and bandersnatches at argos
meaning that dwarves have absolutely no skills the can skill
the only exception i can think of is wild sweep and whirlwind which we never use in pve except for overhit
SP trouble? Any character over 58 before C2 has it the worst :p Even with my active pvp behavior in the past Im short tons of SP on my Paladin and that's skipping the higher levels of Sanc holy strike etc. 6 new skills in C5? Forget it :(
Hehe yeah, it's worse for the higher-levels who don't get to take advantage of the lowered overall SP costs. They should really retroactively restore SP spent on now-cheaper skills - it's the work of letting one algorithm run over the database. Sure it takes some time, but I'm sure it'd put a smile on everyone's face to see free SP beaming at them at the start of C5, and the great thing: It wouldn't be unfair to a single person.
But for summoners, it has been like this throughout all chronicles: First we all have to learn three new skills (c2) which actually appear at almost every new skill up, then in C3 two, in C4 another two. Grr. :/

just give sp scrolls to us poor ******** that have missed out on lower skill cost
And then you sell 'em on to ebayers - they have the SP cost tables for the new skills, so all they have to do is run one program to compare the difference in SP between each skill level.
Then, during upgrade downtime, check the character database - add the difference (where negative) between skill cost C4 and skill cost C5 to every character for every skill.
Yes, it takes time and computing power - but so would just giving everyone appropriate amounts of SP scrolls, and then they'd still have to run the check on who has how many skills.
