Hi, I just started playing L2 a couple days ago. I was wondering if anyone could give me tips of lvling and equipment? Most importantly, should I be using 1hd weapon/shield or 2hd staff? any pro's/cons from using one vs the other?
Try to get a devotion set, the bonus is great and its preaty cheap also.
I would go for a 2h staff since it has more MAtk.
The only diferece with a 1H weap and a shield is that with shield you can block hits (which you are not supposed to get) and a 1h magic weapon has a lower MAtk and since you are a mage you need as much MAtk as you can get.

Actually, a one handed weapon has the same MAtk as a two handed one. It just has more p.atk.
NG: Devotion set, and top NG mage staff (staff has SAME matk as 1 handed weopon, BUT u may find your self killing a mob down to 1% hp which is not worth a spell, but a smack from your staff which has higher p atk.)
D: Knowledge set and top D weopon you can afford.
C: homokulus (acuemn) and demon set (more damage you do, the spells to kill a mob.)
B: Avadon set, and ZOMG, keep your homokulus till A grade!
