Thought this might be a useful post if other people are willing to add to it.
I see lots and lots of posts with people asking what class to play and why. So I thought it would be good to list the best points about your character/s (as many or as little as you like). People can then search for the class in the post and see what people like about them. Saves repeated questions about which is best.
For me:
DESTROYER - ORC
Female. Love the fact that in most situations she can stand there and take a massive beating without dying and need very little assistance to do so. Obviously this does not mean mobs far higher than herself but with white to green, whereas another class (not all) might fall after a couple of mobs attack, she can normally take on 4 or 5 and still walk away. She's rare and she looks fantastic.
Because i can just so connect with my Orc Monk. He has developed his own personality that so matches my own i feel as he is an extension of myself.
umm... you created him... named him... geared him... control what he says... leveld him (that one is last cause we all know you don't lvl much! <3 :) ) why wouldn't it have a personsally like you?
On a side note... I hate my toon. That's y i reroll so much. :(

Main reason is because back in c2 talking to the newbie guide he said there are two options. You can be the tiger or the lion. Do you want to be tough and solo more and hunt in packs when you need to, or do you want to be in the pack and never solo? At least it was something to that effect. I remember thinking wow this is a strange game, but like I do in life I chose the path of the tiger. Destroyer fits this characterization well.
Does anyone else remember this from Elmore guide back in the day? Which path did you choose?

She's awesome,
She can tank, fight side by side or on her own(wearing heavy armour) because we've got those heavy masteries don't forget ;) We can buff our little hearts out, help heal & **** we look good in some of those armours
(ie heavy BW, Avadon Heavy, FP Heavy.) Just wait C5 we ge Erase & can grief PS/ES/DA & Necro classes, mana burn.. "burn baby burn" & new heavy texture look for Zubei. (it looks amazing) can't wait! We are a talented multi tasking diverse class & WE ROCK ;)

I love my character because everyone wants her in a group! (I think they faint that I'm actually playing a "buffer" class as my main. . ) And I've always been drawn to the healing classes. . my motto: "I'm gonna PWN YOU!. . wait. . I'll be HEALING those who will PWN you!"

I love all my characters...I love the SR I started in OB, I love the DE nuker turned quickly to SE that I created at the same time....the SE kept going..the SR hit the level cap and de-lvled and hit the lvl cap again at 60 and turned into a PK and de-lvled back to 52 again...he's the lowest lvl toon on that account, but every time I look at him I remember the good old days of Cruma Tower, and the Elven Fortress, and the runs from Giran to Dion with as much Brig as I could carry so that I could sell it off, and afford to craft my dual revos, so I could break them down so I could buy my very own Theca set....as it goes now he's not even sort of a force to be reckoned with...but he's so nostalgic.
I love my little dwarves...you can't help but laugh when you see them dancing around...nothing like having someone smack you and get more and more frusterated as you dance and laugh not even vaguely close to death...and knocking down and/or blowing a hole in a castle wall is just friggin nifty.
And I love my prophet...originally made to run alongside the SR she is a force unto herself...I just need a new tall heavy skin and I'll be one step closer to conquering the world!
Male (SAY NOTHING!) - Im one of those weird people who doesnt say its wrong that men play women and women play men, but who plays a Male because I am Male. Elves have always been my face race in fantasy lore, from Baldurs Gate to Betrayal at Krondor. (no elves ARENT 3 feet and help santa you stupid stupid people!)
I try and play a Character/Class that mostly relates to myself, i have no idea why, i just do. Im not a natural leader, (though some people say i could be, but its not for me) and i prefer to help people rather then destroy opponents. Magic has always been a thing ive loved when playing fantasy games. (not kiddie magicians or harry dam potter, but REAL arcane stuff) I tried Damaging classes like Mages, but i got so annoyed when the healer grouped wasnt doing their job and i couldnt effectivly get that persons HP up and keep it that way, so i discovered the infamous Support Genre =)
So i ended up with an Elven Elder =). I enjoy playing him, yea ok he looks a bit feminine, but im fine with that, shows how gentle my character is both Mentally and Class wise ^^. I found a clan who appreciated my talents and im having a blast.

(Female) - She can craft stuff for my clan which was my reason to make her my main.
If I have a good healer with me I can go in a catacomb/necropolis to make some trains and level up quick.
She can carry a LOT. I always find it weird how the other races can carry so little when I am playing alts. Got too used with the dwarf way. :p
The golem is very helpful if you are going to a place that is hard but you need to go for a reason or another. A bit expensive, true, but worth it.
And the most important reason... She is too **** cute! Specially when she dances.
I have played basically every other class in the game with a few exceptions, and this is the primary class for me.
Reasons:
-I can deal very good damage in party without the need for exorbitant gear, same applies to solo.
-Run speed, after playing a prophet as main, my run speed now is a blessing, no one can outrun me and I can be where I need to be very fast.
-Evasion, very nice to fight someone and avoid about half their attacks, this without using UE.
-Attack speed, only TH have more than me, and its very little more, I enjoy my fast attacks with high crit rate.

this is exactly how i feel about my crafter dorf.
however, i love my female destroyer more, becasue shes hott and rare, and her self-buffs (battle roar, frenzy, guts, anger, zealot) make everyone jealous.
I enjoy Olorae because of the 2+ years of work that have gone into her storyline, and her personality has really developed. A lot of people say they have characters just like them (Splatter, for one), but Olorae is a chance for something different. Something that's not me. That was part of why I made her, was for the challenge of playing someone so different.
On the OOC side, I'm just like Seridove in that I play a support-class by preference. It's just the way I do things. And when people see that my main is a SE, they are just floored. They're wondering why I'm not a box.
I love my warlord because it's a gimp class which makes it that much more satisfying to win in pvp.
But other than that, I almost always gravitate towards polearms/spears and/or aoe in just about any games. I'm not the guy to pick what's "best", I go with whatever I like and try to make the best out of it while having fun doing so.
I have more fun losing a challenging fight than winning a walkover.
I'm a member of the has-way-too-many-alts-to-be-serious group. I created my SE back in the days of C2 when I started this game, I do at this very moment still have a flash of her at lvl 2 standing before the Abyssal Celebrants in the Temple of Shilen...I wished I took a screenshot then...but ok Im drifting off. She is my main and I still like her style, dressed in Tallum and equipped with Raid*Raid she is a very sleek and hard-headed person.
Only healing and buffing the ones she cares about - or the ones who have the dignity to make larger sentences then "Buff plz" or "VR!" - I like to play her a bit RP.
When I just want to kill things I go onto my Hawkeye, her slightly tanned skin is the sign she is out very much, killing stuff with her BoP, dressed in Drake Leather she is also pretty nice to look at. A perfect solo-char for when I just want to play and mess around a bit.
There has always been and probably always be topics about dwarves, but I must say I like my little female Bounty Hunter, she makes nice moves, and besides the dances, I must confess = Bandage FTW!
Currently leveling a Bladedancer to see what all the fuss is about...I just love the way she lvls up fast as she does, and her skills are pretty nice to see and use.
I love Cerv because he is litterally the side of me I never was. I can be outgoing, I can flirt and laugh with anyone. I can make fun of people in a way that makes them laugh at themselves in a genuine way. He's fun to play with in PvP, and sometimes in PvE.
Maybe we could split it...I call dibs on the Enchanted Valley, the Elven Lands, and Ivory Tower though :p
Ok we can split it, u can have those places & I'll take everything else.. give me about 5 years & I'll probably buy those places off of you just like monopoly lol ;)
Well, I'm not called the 8-hate wonder for nothing.
That's how many times a certain paladin *coughmarcuscough* had to hit hate to get something off of me once. And it was big, blood red, and hit REALLY hard.
Somehow mobs like to spank female DE's yes, must have some kind of reason though...and don't come with the magic attracts stuff, we all know that ain't the reason. :cool:
I'm a WC, realy verstile, could have any wearpon/armor type. Bunch of different playstyles. Whanted by parties, but also can stand for mycelf. Good looking without some exesive muscularity of orc female fighters. What else can i wish for?
Well, I really love my bishop. Her heals are awesome, her rez is awesome, her high level skills work really good (prayer, avatar, peace, hold undead, might of heaven) .... She has crowd control with sleep (trance in C5) which helps in the healing.. and I have to keep on top of the game all the time and watch all around for everything... so it keeps me always engaged, and doesn't feel like grinding that so many complain about.
My Silver Ranger I love too, for when I need to get out some aggression :) and she is VERY cute .... But she's a little too easy to play in PvE. Just right click on the targeter and sit back and watch. A little boring, that. I think every healer needs a DD alt.
I love my bd because he is very high damage output, gets the most variety of good weapon choices in the game and has a lot of different looks. Also, clans/alliances/parties always love and need me so it makes me feel happy.
They have great buffs to compliment mine, and the panic button (PR2) sure helps.
I do hate when someone pushes the panic button just as the raid boss is about to die, though. Watched a tank group vanish once because of that.
And, courtesy of my heals, that left me to tank for about five minutes until it died.
Never thought an SE could tank so well... especially in avadon robes.
An SE can tank pretty decent...a Sorcerer in NM Robe can tank pretty good too. It's all dependant of the situation, but in PvE we are not defenceless.
Especially when you tank without warning. Happened to me a couple of times with RB's. I've been one of the highest in the group, happily healing, buffs etc. RB takes a liking to me and refuses to go away. Hello Tank a bit of Hate would be good about now. There's my poor little SE being smacked to hell whilst quietly healing herself and waiting for someone in the group to realise she isn't meant to tank :)
Oh and everyone want's buffs and healing too ...... no problem I'll do that in just 1 sec, tanking at the min :p

I_Faithkil: you can be the prettiest BD! i just hit lv78 the other night and now it's time to play my HE sub :)
Oxin: duals are required to dance, but other than that you can use whatever. when i'm xping i stick with duals, but for pvp, obviously, i choose a bow when dances are up.

I like my character because of the roleplaying aspect of her, even if I do act totally ridiculous at the wishing well and most other social events. She is an ES, so she's also very rare in c5 - that must be a bonus.
Also, I like to explore being insane - which isn't a very big leap for me. But to do it subtly and well, that takes talent - and which I'm still attemting to do.
