[Player Character related changes]

1. Changes to PC death penalty
* Penalty applied to characters upon death have been modified as follows:
- Normal character: Player does not drop items upon death
- Chaotic charcter: Chance of dropping items has been reduced
2. Upon death, there will be a chance the player may be inflicted with a debuff penalty that effects the player's fighting abilities; the chance of debuff is about the same as the current chance of dropping items
* The death penalty debuff is stackable. If a player dies again while in a debuffed state, the player will receive a second debuff and its effects will stack.
* Debuff status is visible through the debuff window. Its duration is infinite.
* The debuff can be cured using a 'Recovery Scroll'
* The 'Recovery Scroll' comes in different grades. A player must use the correct grade scroll for his/her level (based on expertise). The scroll, however, cannot be used by chaotic characters.
* The debuff can also be cured at the Black Judge. Chaotic characters may recover from their debuffed status through this NPC.
* The Black Judge can be found in Floran Village, Wastelands, Hardin's Private Academy
* The effect of 'Charm of luck' has been changed to eliminate the chance of being debuffed upon death.

[Skill related Changes]

1. Party summoning skill added

* 'Summoning Crystal can be purchased from grocer shops in town.
* Party members cannot be summoned into Siege zones, certain Raid boss areas, or Olympiad tournament arenas.
* Dead members or players in combat cannot be summoned.

i read "player character related changes" and didn't have it in me to finish reading the notes :(
I love Hellrose.
The death penalties sound alot like what WoW has.... :(
for the most part i dislike these changes. they're watering down the game for the casual crowd even though they know their money comes from the hardcore crowd.

whatever though. i'll still play this game until my friends quit or something better comes out.

The death penalties sound alot like what WoW has.... :(

was the exact same thing i was thinking

1. Changes to PC death penalty...

thats funny, because last i knew the death penalty was the single biggest reason for playing L2. for more on this topic, see LinCraft (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=692057&an=0&page=0&gonew =1#UNREAD)
edit:

The quest 'Enhance your weapon' has been changed so that soul crystals can no longer break when levelling from 1 to 10

holy 923 batman...so not ONLY can you never drop items, but quest items always work?
player: "hey GM, htere are some bots near oren killing all the orcs, i train them but they keep comming back, i kill them, but they just log in botted high-level toons and kill me"
answering machine: the GM is currently busy or away, please leave your message at the *beep*.
But you won't be able to get their gear anymore, which is the sole reason I train them
bots HAD this penalty before. when you trained them the first time, they dropped gear, then when they came back they died faster.
hey, it's still Korean PTS, so lets hope that not all of those changes will make it to our live servers ;)

But you won't be able to get their gear anymore, which is the sole reason I train them

Read the patch notes more carefully. They will always use Charm of Luck -> no drops and no death debuff...

Charms of Luck are purchased with AA and as we all know AA is an unlimited pool for these toons.
Heh, glad to know that people won't be randomly recalling their whole party to a PvP zone... not enough summoners to go around. Or will we see more ES buffbishes after all?

Mixed feelings about this, definitely.
It will make ppl think twice before flagging on a lone summoner, thats for sure ^^

"you thought you would erase my summon? hows about I just re-summon a fully buffed archer into your face ? lol"
hehe now i really wonder what summon crystals cost
Wonderful. C4 gave us party priority pick up, and in C5 they won't drop at all. great.
WoW, that's some powerful farmer-protection patches. I mean, I'm just completely stunned... and WoW.

Making L2 like WoW is not the solution to L2's fast-dropping popularity in Korea. Which is exactly what the last few KR.test patches are.

Maybe we all think WoW is garbage, and that's why we play L2 :)

Heard! I would rather be in shop mode in L2 than play WoW (WoW is a fun side game, which I enjoy occasionally, but would never play it full time)

Heard! I would rather be in shop mode in L2 than play WoW

ditto.
I'll have to agree too. They're fixing things that aren't necessarily flaws.

ETC
I actually like a lot of those changes.

To me not dropping gear helps normal players instead of botters. Botters don't care that much about gear. They never use a grade to farm and they have loads of money to restock any dropped gear.

Legit players on the other hand loosing a peice of gear is crap!

I think you still loose exp upon death and plus get the curse. You just can't drop gear. So really death penalty was increased. Actually I would like to loose less exp though, cause grinding 80 hours to get 5% or whatver sux.

Now they got to make getting exp at higher levels more reasonable. Maybe after lvl 65 the exp rate of current is multiplied by 2 and at lvl 70 it is multiplied by 3. Then at lvl 75 it is multiplied by 4.

I dunno, I kinda like that they are actually making this game more like a "game" and less like a full time escape or recreation job.

Anything that makes l2 a bit easier is always welcome in my book, as long as it is semi-unique and adds content.
i love the patch except for death penalty and no item drop changes...ummm the whole point of a pvp match is actaully causing the other person harm and money or hard work. I imagine these scrolls will be cheap and I wont even give a crap about dying anymore...this is stupid as hell if they implement it.

Otherwise some of the other stuff is very good.
Im all for changes that may bring in a larger popualtion of players. Also I love the Summoner changes. People are freaking out and the changes arent even here, chill, let em come, then raise holy hell if they suck, (As I have said in another thread.).
Wow summoners o.o

Don't touch the level 58 summoner or he might summon his level 78 Stormscreamer lol
It's an active skill.

You need merely drop the summoner fast, then there's nothing he can do.

1. Changes to PC death penalty
* Penalty applied to characters upon death have been modified as follows:
- Normal character: Player does not drop items upon death
- Chaotic charcter: Chance of dropping items has been reduced

No drops on death? Thats a rather poor change, the drops are the biggest reason why people go after Reds and Bots. If nobody is going to drop anything anymore why bother killing them.

What they should of done was to make Luck charms have that effect, with the additional benifit of avoiding the debuff on death due to a raid mob. As an added bonus this is also a money sink.

6. B grade weapons (Swords, Bows, Blunts, Poles etc.) can be exchanged for fist weapons of the same grade at Mammon Blacksmith. However, fist weapons cannot be exchanged for other weapons.

o.0 Why just B grade fists, it should be an all or nothing deal.
I think back in the day the death penalty was fine. I don't mind losing exp, I hated to lose gear, but it was not the end of the world to replace it.

But as prices go up and up and up, and some of us have 2 years of work put into our gear. We have extremely long term investments in some of our stuff. Maybe your a market master, or maybe you just "play the secondary market" and losing stuff isnt a huge deal. But I know there are a lot of legit players, and people who grind for their mats, manor, farm the key mats and the recipes, put months of effort and what money they made off selling their previous gear into their new gear. Losing something you worked so hard for is a devestating blow.

I like the hard core elements of the game and I don't want to see the game watered down to the point where dying is just a mild inconvenience. But I think making any game super hardcore, just makes for an environment where farmers and ebayers flourish, and legit players have their spirits broken constantly.

Although that is how I feel about equipped stuff. I dont see any reason why stuff in your invo can't go. That sticks it to farmers the hardest. Sure maybe people with secondary weapons too, but that could easily be fixed.

On another note, I wonder how the death penalty will effect deleveling farmers. If you have to pay for a scroll for each penalty you accumulate, it may become very expensive to be a farmer. Or maybe they get debuffed to the point where they can't even hit the guards.

Now they got to make getting exp at higher levels more reasonable. Maybe after lvl 65 the exp rate of current is multiplied by 2 and at lvl 70 it is multiplied by 3. Then at lvl 75 it is multiplied by 4.

i think that is one of the worst suggestions i have seen for L2.
This is rediculous!

Why spout so proudly of mana burn being a great battlefield leveller, then add mp potions??

The patch notes are changing things TOO MUCH.

o.0 Why just B grade fists, it should be an all or nothing deal.

Because fists are the very least used weapons in the game, hence it can be a *pain* to find some if you're a tyrant.
When I upgraded to lance I spent 3 weeks searching and saw 2 for sale, when I upgraded to halberd I saw 1 in 2 weeks. I can't even imagine how fist users have it.
You're from Hinde, fists are traditionally the cheapest weapons available. Up until about 4 months ago, Bel Cestus could be found under 20 M.

Heh, glad to know that people won't be randomly recalling their whole party to a PvP zone... not enough summoners to go around. Or will we see more ES buffbishes after all?

Mixed feelings about this, definitely.

the more interssting question is; do only get pure summoners that skill or also summoner/nuker-hybrids aka necros?! ....

Mana pots can only be used from ng-d grade.

1. MP pots drop from Mobs (not in PvP)
2. MP pots have grade and are useable up to (D) grade

^^
Maybe the poster frequently get pwned by sub-40 people :D

2. Emergency potions come in various grades from No-grade to S Grade. Players can only use potions suitable to their level.
3. Emergency potions can be purchased from NPCs or common crafted.
* Emergency Potion of Life can be purchased from NG ~ C Grade
* Emergency Potion of Mind can be purchased from NG ~ D Grade
* Emergency Combat Potion can be purchased from NG ~ S Grade

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seems mana potions can be *purchased* from NG to D grade, while they can be *crafted* all the way up to S grade.

:)

It is not your fault, it is written bad :)

Emergency Pots are: (HP/MP/CP)

All will be Purchased/Crafted NG~S

but MP are up to (D)

S Grade Emergency Pots (CP) recovery are crafted up to S

It also makes sense, cause you have no SAs before (C) grade so CS for Bow for example .. :) or MP up ... etc.

... or I am readinig too much :)

no, it says potions in general can be used from ng - s, which is the case with cp pots. Mana pots can only be used up until d grade.

so although they can be purchased, u cant use them.

as to crafting, whats the bet that Mind potion recipes C-S grade sell upwards of 1m ?
It's going to be good to have a clan hall in C5. It looks to me that there will be common craft recipes for mana potions and these will sell for incredible sums of money.

And I am sick to my stomach thinking about the item drop changes. The only way to combat bots is to attempt to get them killed by mobs in the hopes they will drop stacks of items. In another thread on this subject someone suggested having equipped items protected from dropping but not general inventory items. This seems like a good compromise. There is simply no way to fight against bots if they can't drop something. They will just set up auto-rez as killing them will only assist them in de-leveling. They will now never need to leave a hunting area and just let the mobs de-level them then use the special scrolls to remove the death debuff.
Debuffs are infinite and cumulative and may happen upon death at about the same rate as items drop at death, perhaps about 25% chance, more or less.

Removing the debuff involves speaking to a Black Judge. This might mean a quest, like the Sin Eater, rather than just a trip to the NPC. There are scrolls which do the same debuff removal, but we do not yet know how rare or expensive they will be, perhaps they will be like EWA scrolls, or at least as rare as EWDs, I hope.

So a player character may die once or twice a week, right? More or less depending on level and skill and circumstances, but rarely as much as once a day.

Who dies dozens of times a day, a hundred times a week, enough to make the debuffs really add up to the point where the toon is unplayable?

BOTS. Bots delevel, bots die a lot. Bots will be debuffed out the wazooter.

Bot toons will become unplayable unless they (hopefully have to do a quest when they) go to the Black Judge or (hopefully pay a great deal of money to) use a scroll.

Sure I wish we still had drops from cheaters. But, folks, lets wait and see how this plays out. IF we are lucky and it really does make bot toons unplayable (i.e. unprofitable) then this may be a very good thing for L2.

I will cross my orcish fingers and hope that the cheaters (bots) cannot make a profit. Then, oh the glory, if there is much less adena for sale in cheater sites, then at last the huge cheating problem might be minimized. Probably never solved totally.

Who would buy an account if it is full of characters with so many debuffs that they cannot kill a keltier!

If we cannot ban all cheaters, make it unprofitable for them and they will go. Bye bye.
Another nerf of live Bounty Hunters, by the way.
why ?
Emergency pots should be dwarvern craft only. As well as the ingredients should only be able to be obtained through spoil. Just my opinion though.

why ?

Delevelling that costs extra time and/or money.
I find it funny how people think NCsoft should design this game to make it harder to bot instead of making it easier for players.

Do you even realize why bots exsist besides RMT?

The only way to kill bot farmers is to not buy adena. Farmer accounts get banned, trained, ect ect, and they couldn't give a rats *** because they have 5 billion + adena. Why do you think a bot party will have a mixed armor set of manticore and brig? Dosn't make sense, but really it dosn't matter...they don't need gear like normal players do because they constaintly got high lvl buffs, full 9 man parties, and fight light blue or green mobs for their lvl.

Train a bot you get a bit of gear or money, yay for that! Train a live player they will probally quit or look to the 3rd market for help. In the end, not dropping gear is a good choice. PPL don't train bots to make them leave, people train bots to get rich, so stop trying to fool people. PPL that train bots all day would probally actually be sad if the bots all left because it takes away easy money.

Dropping equipped gear was kinda ******ed anyway. "OMG I DIED AND DROPPED MY PANTS" Hmm he must have been ganked when he was peeing on the bush or something?

I see having a low chance of dropping some inventory items would be ok. Such as Mats and Seal Stones. But AA, Adena, Potions, Shots, Gear of all types should never be dropped esspecially with the current market of L2.

I myself am looking forward to many of these updates, not all of them but MANY of them! Anything that adds more content to L2 is good in my book. Now if they would make a dynamic quest system or something to fill up the god forsaken boring grind or an easier fix of speeding up the current grind, the game would be practically fixed. Anything that requires actual human interaction of random quests that give great rewards or something that a auto-bot couldn't do, the game would have just increased it's worth by 10 fold.

Stop buying a adena and you make adena worth more and prices go down in game. You stop the reason why there is farmers and you won't have farmer bot trains anymore.

Make the game interesting and not a boring long grind and players won't use bot programs anymore.
That's exactly what i've been saying from the begining, fight the cause and not the effects !!!
So.... fix this **** laughable economy system !!! :p
That's really the only thing that bothers me in L2, but it bothers me A LOT...
Am I reading this right??? Only summoning classes can summon a friend to a party??? Huh????

* A new skill 'Summon Friend' has been added to Summoning classes

It will make ppl think twice before flagging on a lone summoner, thats for sure ^^

"you thought you would erase my summon? hows about I just re-summon a fully buffed archer into your face ? lol"

But if i keep a spoiler to spoil mats for my crafts and selling and ~lvl 40 mobs give a great variety of base mats why would i have to grind that toon out of the range and into high lvls where not all those mats drop in good spots and i will have to spend more on gear, shots pots and probably also share with the whole party?

why ?

thats moronic. deleveling is a great way to keep the good spoils spoiling. if scavs on the whole didnt delevel, there would be nobody with A helms. nor S weapons. keymats dont drop easily but they sure spoil faster.
imo.. the game design shouldn't require someone to keep a specific lvl range in order to remain efficient or even able to spoil mats,

they should really crank up the drop rate and spoil rate along with the varaity of mats so that increaseing a BH's lvl ends up getting them larger sums of bones and such. not make it less profitable and outright useless. No one should feel the dlvling is the solution, things become stagnet, and open up holes/flaws in the design badly.

1. Emergency Potions added
1. The following emergency potions have been added
* Emergency Potion of Life - HP Recovery
* Emergency Potion of Mind - MP Recovery
* Emergency Combat Potion - CP recovery
2. Emergency potions come in various grades from No-grade to S Grade. Players can only use potions suitable to their level.
3. Emergency potions can be purchased from NPCs or common crafted.

* Emergency Potion of Mind can be purchased from NG ~ D Grade
* Emergency Combat Potion can be purchased from NG ~ S Grade
(note: It's been confirmed that all potions are available upto S grade, with higher lvl ones being common craft only. Emergency pots are instant pots with 5 minute reuse delay. They are quite expensive to make. As of 09/01 The A Grade life potion replenishes about 1350hp. A Grade Mana potion replenishes about 360mp.)
4. Recipes needed for common crafting are produced by clan halls
5. Grades of Emergency of Potions available in towns vary depending on the town.
So it becomes the ebayers powerlevel paradise? *sigh*
Also notice the list of classes getting the player summoning skill...

(note: Currently on the PTS this skill is available to Warlocks, ES, PS and Necros)

:( :( I wish NC would make up their mind as to what a necro exactly is. Is it a nuker? Or a summoner? Or a debuffer like an OL except not AOE? You cant keep giving Necros the best of all three.
These are some very bad changes,
- You won't be able to train or pk bots anymore with good effect or profit.
- Mana potions are such a bad thing to have, seriously this is comming from a 99% mage playing person here, mana potions = bad.
- Ow so more favouratism for American players, -50% port cost 8-12 am, yeah whoopie I'll do my class change quests at 3 am in the morning here to benefit from that -.-

Seriously C5 was already bad since my sleep got nerfed to hell, but I was still holding on, hoping it might get better.

But basically as someone else said it has just become an ebayer's paradise. New good skills that cost spirit ore = more money, New Mp potions = more money, seriosuly are they trying to promote it here?

But as I said, the first C5 changes made me want to leave already, but I was holding on since I could still play some non-mage characters, but this, seriosuly I wonder if I'll ever login again :(.

Ow so more favouratism for American players,

Yeah...benefits during peak hours for the mainstay of players. How cruel.
can i have your stuff?

get a toon to 60 + then talk about how it effects the game

No need to delevel. Use Sin Eater.
I invnted the whole sin-eater to fix-level thing (I think), but it has a few major disadvantages.

1.) It got more expensive in C4 due to the stupid combat mode patch.

2.) It means you don't get SP for your fighting either.

- You won't be able to train or pk bots anymore with good effect or profit.

Actually.. Ive thought about this a bit. As it is, in high level "soulless" parties, the members run around in C/B grade gear. They dont drop often.. and when they do its rarely anything special. Now however, with the new system, everytime you train them, they loose the ability to hunt efficiently. Beyond that, the people training them cant possibly loose anything either.

The fact that these debuffs add means that the dorf trains in gludio that are constantly trying to overcome the guards (hahaha) are going to be up for adena everytime they die.. or they'll need to do a quest. Either way, thats good with me!

I think this patch helps with the bot problem rather than worsens it. Sure we wont be able to train bots for profit anymore... but players who want to hunt whever they want hopefully will still find reason to train bot groups.
For the bots, the debuff situation is certainly worse (I've not gotten a single drop off trained bots that really would have hampered them), it just cuts into player profits. Those complaining are those that train not to harm bots, but to benefit themselves. <shrug>
your debuff bar holds a max of 10 debuffs so you will only get a max of 10 from deleveling so i dount you would get to the point of not taking on an elpy.

Pop to your local arena and get a OL or Necro to knock a few off too if over debuffing works :) then you only have 6-8 to remove

Wow, just realized that Necros get that skill, too. Yes, they finally should decide what a necromancer is. If he is a summoner, then take away some of the nukes (e.g. the vortex one). If he is a nuker, take away transfer pain and that summon friend skill. If he is a hybrid, take away all of it, since he obviously should not be as good as pure nukers or summoners in their area of expertise :) (like my favourite example, the SE - a hybrid class and does not get greater might/shield and does not get the new good heals, since those are exclusive to the "pure" classes)

(note: It's been confirmed that all potions are available upto S grade, with higher lvl ones being common craft only. Emergency pots are instant pots with 5 minute reuse delay. They are quite expensive to make. As of 09/01 The A Grade life potion replenishes about 1350hp. A Grade Mana potion replenishes about 360mp.)
.

im at a loss of words...

way to cater the game to ebayers, and turn all EE and SE into nothing more than buff dispensers, and forcing the few live ones left to fork out 300k a every hour so they can keep their mp up cuz teams knows healers can use mp pots and will recruit less healers than was needed in c4...

seriously thinking of cancelling my account now
Since its common craft, I bet the potions will use fish oil/gems to craft etc .

You could argue that if a lot of healers leave, the mp pots will not make up for the loss, and healers will be attractive again...
I'm still not so sure about the bot thing tho. I mean.. does one "scroll of death penalty removal" remove cumulated penalties?

Depending on what the penalties are (say they are.. -patk, -mp/hp regen, -pdef), it's still perfectly possible to gank guards for 3 hours straight. And if you just need one scroll to remove the accumulated penalties.. it's not that bad.

It's still gonna be interesting to see how they react to being trained now though. If they don't really mind the buffs or to use a scroll, or if it will make it impossible for them to continue.
Some stupid changes in that list.

The Olympiad changes are partly good, but also bad.

Increasing the duration of the actual Olympiad fight is a further huge nerf to classes with limited MP (Orc Mages) who already had a supreme nerf MP wise for C5 anyway.

Increasing the duration of the Olympiad itself from 4 to 6 hours is also a mistake in NA. This allows even more time for people in advantageous timezones to farm points while others sleep.

In NA this competition needs to be a fortnightly weekend based event running opposite to siege weekends on each server.

Imagine a competition where the whole server comes together to watch the Noblesse battle it out in a grand tournament for several hours over a weekend. No 3-7am play for half the Noblesse on weekdays, no stupid points farming, just a whole lot of fun and some heroes at the end.

I strongly urge the NA team to get this point accross to the Koreans. We don't have anywhere near as many Noblesse as them. It's pointless making us endure a competition which is designed for 300+ Noblesse to enter daily. We have maybe 50-75 on most servers, half of which are probably European and therefore can't compete at the stupid times on almost all days. The Olympiad NPC wont even tell you anybody is registered until 100 or more are registered. This shows what kind of number the competition is intended for.

Give us a spectacle, make it as grand as you said it would be and place it on non siege weekends only. Currently 90% of the Olympiad is point swapping, dancing around naked while someone else kills you for points.

About as grand as a friday night in a bar with drunken old men!

Im surprised they did this as well... but I dont think it spells the end for EEs and SEs. 360 MP every 5 minutes doesnt even close to enough to keep my SpS on her feet. Thats an extra 1.2 mp per second. Thats nice and all..... but an SE is 15 times better than that.. literally.

As for parties expecting you to spam them... cant see it happening. I get much more than 1.2mp per tick extra from using Mana Regeneration self buff.. and no one expects me to use that. Seriously.. no one. I do use it.. especially when Im one of the main DDs, or Im the main crowd controller and my mp is dropping. But not a single person has asked me to use it when I havent.. not once.

Its just like no one expects Tanks to run around with QHPs to spam when things get nasty. People might expect healers to carry a pot around for those times when your about to die.. but I cant see them being used for anything other than emergencies.
360 MP every 5 minutes is less of an effect than just inviting an ES along with your group - it's also less than an EE can get self-recharging with clarity. Seriously, I doubt that this will be an expected PvE consumable.

The name says it all: Emergency potions. I expect everyone will have one of each with them, and they will use them, exactly, in an emergency.

Yes, exactly. Sure - you can buy them up to lvl 40 (D grade) and people will do that, but with all the newbie buffs (now for all chars, not only the first one), herbs and so on, people will just vroom through those levels anyway, so who cares. In the level range where it really matters, people will carry around one or two of those potions just in case things go wrong and nukers/healers run out of mp. Even if you had the money to "spam" those potions, like Ramonita said, soloing and depending on these potions to keep mp up would just not work because of the reuse timer. So no worries for live rechargers or mp regen buffers here, we are not (yet) useless.
Self recharging with clarity works? hmm interesting ^^ I already decided to make an EE on franz and with the summon friend thing I'm even considering making an ES again as well. Although I still think NC Soft should stop smoking whatever they were smoking when they thought of the pvp changes to summoners! Regarding the fact that you're giving necro's the summon friend skill...seriously NC, you ppl have issues :/
Deep love is not an issue, it's a virtue. You're just bitter because they don't love your class like they love others, but you should see the beauty of it - at least you get a lot of attention, and it's never boring: Up, and down, and up, and down, and up, and down.. .</sarcasm>

we are not (yet) useless.

Seems like they're trying though, recently.
lol would be funny if the summoner controlled you after summon. Hey, wait dont send me in there arirjfoejifaaejp
would be interested in some way to get rid of farmer bots. on erica in omens they are an infestation. i atk the lead bot till the party leaves but have gone red a few times and now if they wont drop to mobs not sure they will leave at all. i dont train bots for drops i just want the room to exp. i petition and get the same reply..prove it. if they wont drop and they wont leave what other options do we have to clear the room for actual players who want to grind??? may have to lvl a pure chaotic toon to do nothing but kill the bots full time. if the death penalty stacks when the bots go to de-lvl that means all the bots will be in the high lvl hunting grounds. need some creative bot clearing ideas that work.

listen the death penatly is one debuff that stacks onto itself like the hotspring chorela or malaria. Also you need 1 scroll for each level of death penalty you have on you.

A grade death scrolls cost 55k each in giran with a 5% tax rate. 10 death penalties = 550k now if a farmer has to do that everytime they delevel wow they are screwed.
That reply is not "prove it" - you're misreading it. It's "we'll try to prove it, and probably take a few months to do so". Not sure how that is any better, but it's not addressed at you.

In either case, if you want a room to exp, it doesn't matter if you kill them by PK or train - once they're out, they'll have a tough time taking the room back from you if it's a good size for you.

Ow so more favouratism for American players,

Yeah...benefits during peak hours for the mainstay of players. How cruel.

About 50% of the American players already do not fit that time frame, maybe you should check out the fuss that the "peek pollen" drop times caused during the last event.
And at least 25% of the playerbase is from the rest of the world, so this is discrimination. Maybe you should start caring for someone else but yourself?

can i have your stuff?

get a toon to 60 + then talk about how it effects the game

Lol, how is that relevant, just because I'm not 60+ I don't know that mana potions will profit only ebayers, regular skills which cost spirit ore, like heals, will profit ebayers. A debuff that you can buy scrolls for will cost botts less money and fuss then dropping equipment and having to replace that, and will not gain profit for bot pkers?

I can really see how 3 extra levels to get me to 61 will improve that knowledge, lol.
Niennia, I'm sorry, but assuming that adding a money drain to an optional class that could thus far kick back and leech up more money than anyone else doesn't "only benefit ebayers". Major heal is a lot more MP efficient than the old heals from all I hear, and I'm very much willing to fork over some spirit ore if it means my group gets to stay up longer.
O ME GAWD dudes........ The hp pots have a 5min reuse what is wrong with you people in your negative comments? How would some random pots that only give 1k++ hp every 5mins make healers useless? What game do you play where pvp last 1 hr?? Or what game do you play where range doesn't do the same consistent dps over and over again? Pop a heal pot, ++++1k hp, then another nuke for 1890 negating the whole thing. Geez guys think about what game you play fights are over in less than 1 min usually, unless these pots were constant and had like a 7sec reuse then it would make healers useless. [censored] I had ogre spirit heal for basicaly prelude-c4 and it heals ++1k hp like every 45 secs and this has never stopped me from dying just as fast as the next man.

And explain how does 380 mp then 5 min reuse make mana burn pointless lol? Didn't know it took 5 mins to mana burn someone.

Where you got it from?
read the patch notes and hellrose posted a pic of the cost of all the new items in giran.

Death penalty is the same as malaria it stacks on top of itself to a max level of 10.
C6 - Teletubby Lineage!

This is starting to be less Lineage and more ... something else. :(

Namárië
Badger[49]

so this is discrimination.

No, giving all American players a gift is discrimination. Encouraging players to congregate and participate on the server during peak play hours is simly that. They didn't take a single thing from you, you're just angry you won't experience the bonus as much. Boo hoo.

The emergency pots can only be used every 5 minutes and offer WAY less mana than a player that grade will consume in those 5 minutes. You think healers were dying for more mana efficiency? Hell how many parties even have to heal with VR and VR dance and VR weapons. Debuff won't cause bots a fuss? Instead of a "chance" at dropping a piece of C grade armor, you get a direct loss of 55k per death (we all know A grade lvl toons in WOA wear C grade to hunt). I train them regularly and it takes 5 or 6 full party wipes to get a decent item off them. 6*9=54 54 deaths * 55kcost=2.97 M Yeah, that won't hurt them one bit...
Hmm perhaps I read it wrong, but I thought its only a CHANCE that you get debuffed on death, same as its a CHANCE to drop something on death. To bots it won't make any difference at all. To real players who worked hard for that suit its a nice change. Apart from anything else it might get rid of that griefing duo everyone I know on Hinde loves to hate since they won't gain anything from training people hehe.

The emergency pots won't make any difference to healers being used or not used, but might make it slightly easier for some to solo who would have done anyway...or to get a group out of a sticky situation.

Things that benefit ebayers and botter often can benefit normal legit players too ya know. I'd rather have them be added so the game is more fun for thos normal players even if it helps the others than have them say "Oh no we can't do that cos bot number 6 might use it too!".

The peak travel times thing seems very odd to me. If they already have peak hours when servers are at their busiest why try and encourage players to increase the traffic at those times even more? I would have thought it made more sense to reduce the OFFpeak travel costs. Someone paying a slightly lower fee I could care less about, so long as they don't raise the offpeak costs to pay for the peak travellers so to speak.

Summon friend I adore the idea of, if its done with certain sa***uards in place such as they seem to be doing. I used to play another game where the mages could summon party members and really missed it when I came here. A very useful skill in lots of situations...such as clan parties high in toi when someone else in clan logs on after we already get way up there on the weeks without tp.

To address those who say necro shouldn't get it cos they are hybrid or because they already have enough skills....look at the number of pure summoners at the moment, if the didn't allow hybrids to use it why bother adding it? lol

On a side note someone said necros get the best of nuker and summoner skills.... yes they are hybrids and get some nice things, but they don't get all the nice things from both the nukers and the summoners like some seem to assume. For example they don't get buffs for their summons other than WW, they don't get aoe spells and they don't get overhit spells. I'm not saying they are not currently powerful and loved just trying to point out to that person that they don't get it ALL hehe.

If they didn't give it to necro's more people would start playing a summoner....or consider continue playing it instead of rerolling after the coming C5 nerfs
It might result in more 2 boxed summoners but that would be all I think to be honest....I don't think more people would create a summoner main just for that skill. It might be enough in a few cases to tip the scales for those thinking of rerolling though I guess.
HURRY AND COMPLAIN on the KOREAN forums^^ before they implment this [censored] :/

They didn't take a single thing from you, you're just angry you won't experience the bonus as much. Boo hoo.

Actualy, they did. They got almost all port costs up and then "On a second though I'm not going to rase cost (as much) for prime timers".
These changes aren't all that bad. Sure the hardcore gamers and griefers will complain a lot about some of the major changes, but let's face facts. NCSoft needs players to make money. The more players they attract, the better their bottom line. These changes should help add new users and bring back others who were chased off with the hard-core grind and feel of the game.

I've never played any other on-line game like this, but I can say I have had friends leave because of a lot of the crap people did (mainly trains) and losing items on death.

I seriously doubt many of these changes are worth all the effort to complain about. They just aren't THAT bad.

Porting town to town went up, porting to hunting went down.
I'm in the camp of "let's wait and see," but leaning toward approval. :p

These changes address the two biggest strikes against Lineage 2 in the eyes of players and critics: rampant griefing resulting in the loss of items (which could utterly cripple a character), and the presence of bots and farmers. The debuffs will certainly hurt bots and farmers moreso than the casual player, but equipment security will absolutely enhance the player experience. With the chance of dropping items eliminated, griefing will no doubt lower to just clan rivalry (more focus on PVP for the sake of PVP, not profit) and the occasional disgruntled player. Players will also no longer have to worry about losing substantial virtual assets. Lineage 2 could benefit from fewer stressful elements.

"Hardcore players" by definition do not represent the majority of current and potential L2 players. NCsoft did not export Lineage 2 for kicks and giggles- they expect to make a worthwhile profit. These changes will broaden the game's appeal, and hopefully soon Franz will be joined by a few more brothers and sisters. However, we will have to first wait and see what changes stick and make it over here. :D
OK - My question is this...

During a Siege - does one get stackable debuffs?

I can see how this can and will effect the efficiency of a bot farmer, but when in Siege mode, if this does take effect, I can see major issues with this debuff....

Anyone have any info on this then?
Hell yeah, I want to see these bots delevel In Guido In the same way with his cumulative death penalty now. Just make them DP scrolls expensive orf get rid of them at all

And just one pointer about watering down lineage 2, I would like to see anyone who had a “lucky” series of armor drops at higher levels at death to say this feature was ever fun. Not very much hyped about the new consumables though. And the char warping is a gfreat feature too. I must admit that some of the design choices here do remind me of WoW a bit, but in terms of micro game design that game did have a couple of good ideas.

And I for one will be glad of watering down L2 a bit, considering I’ll be making a brand new char on Bartz . And all you PKers, don’t whine but do what you aways do, kill people and enjoy the Ozzy ^_^.
Hmmmm... I wonder if the warlock Cure of Queen would take the debuff off. Would be usefull, since by the time the cat can cast the cure, most of the debuff expire that it affects.
