Almost out of level 30, and I'm going out of my mind with the grind. It's boring. Very boring. I've been swinging away in EG for too **** many levels now, and I'm getting sick of it.
Since the 30s are kind of lacking in good quests, it's time I start looking for fertile new grounds where the xp starts going back up. Right now, I'm at about .2% per kill. Any suggestions for better soloing grounds (reason being is that my play time is weird, so I hate joining groups and then having to suddenly leave again).
Also, I haven't completely decided which path to bring my kinght down. Right now, I'm leaning towards paladin, but I see a lot that's good in the DA, as well. Which class is more interesting to play? I'm used to more a bit more than swinging and occasionally stunning when I feel like watching the "xxx has resisted your shield stun" message again. Do paladins stay boring, or do things start to open up for them?
Finally, any recommendation for tats for knights? Paladins/DAs?
Lol...grind is boring. Yup...particularly for weak damage dealers like the tank classes!
That's why we duo and party a lot.
Hey, for exp? Try raiding as much as possible--there are LOTS of raidbosses you can get in on from 25-35 and groups seem to always need tanks.
In a level or two I THINK you can try deathpass north of giran (be careful till like 35 up there). Will at least give you a change of scenery.
You can certainly solo in wastelands through mid-30's---some okay exp mobs in the middle.
I think you'll find solo in cata's is tough with knight--after NOS it gets hard to do much in there alone if you're not a DD (and you're not).
You have not even touched anything remotely associated with "the grind" at level 30 let me give you the hot tip right there.
Knights come with that unwritten must have group caveat which most ppl either work out and adjust or reroll. Don't try to solo a knight. Its extremely slow, boring, expensive and inefficient... have I left anything out ?
Raiding low level boss mobs is by far the most expedient way to level up chars, now that the big boom "method" is being adjusted in C5.
The choice between DA & Paladin should be based on your preferred playstyle. Make sure you read up on both classes and compare the skills. The time required to level up a knight is immense and it takes a fair bit of focus and dedication.
In C5 the Paladins get a nice revamp but again you will have to wait till the highest levels to enjoy the rewards. The DA path is a bit easier due to its summon but you pay for it in D crystals so it depends on your "economic" situation.

My knight actually solo's fairly well in Heretic's and Patriot's. I burn a lot of SS, but rarely need to touch potions (other than the greater swift attack).
I have a cougar that keeps me topped off, but I rarely need help. I do have a cleric that tags along with me from time to time, when she can be found online, but I'm capable of going it alone.
Another spot to try, if you haven't already, is deeper inside Orc Barracks, until about mid-30's.
There is a good quest there, too, that you get in Gludin.
It *IS* a long slow grind all the way up and it *IS* expensive. I've spent hours learning how to play the market to keep myself afloat. Once you do that, it's not that bad, but partying with a healer and a nuker help. I'm B grade right now spending a lot of time in EV. I don't walk out of town without at least 200 GHP, 5000 BSS, 3000 Beast Shots, and 20 GSAP. I usually walk back in with about 120 GHP, 2000 BSS, no Beast Shots, 15 GSAP, and down a dozen C crystals.
That said, the panther helps you level and draw more mobs in faster.
I'm actually leveling a SE to dual box with, just for the heals. By my estimates, it'll be worth it.

I'm working on making a SE, as well. I'm not sure if I've lost my mind or not. And it'll take a bit to get used to dual-boxing them.
omg after 8 months i get to correct jkoster for once!
lol---usually jk is entirely correct and fixing my miss posts!
The quest for orc barracks is found in little house area outside of orc barracks--it's not in Gludin.
I can't remember that NPC's name but he's standing by the fence a bit north and maybe east as you run from fellmere to orc's barracks--his name might be something like Simeon or some such....but he's definately by the house near orc barracks and give the quests to characters 25 or higher.

I keep the SE on my lappy and just set it to follow my DA. To be honest, I don't care about the heals *THAT* much, just the buffs. VR goes a looooooooong way.
