How do you know who bots?

Well it happen to me today.

Got up 10.30 am, log archer in the desktop, buffer in laptop.

I allmost allways play alone cause i found those 2x mobs that drop fast and i can get around 9k exp wich, to a lv 60 char is a lot, 0.06% per mob.

So all i do with my buffer in my laptop is buff up, when the archer is low on hp, i use heal and rest.

This for hours. So a guy came and called me a bot and pked me while resting lol

Im just irritated cause i hate bots and being called one drives me mad lol

So who do you see what is a bot and what is not??

If a guy randomly say im a bot, how can i sure that a gm doesnt?

This just got me very concerned :(
Random trainers and pk'ers will always say that you are botting or thought you were botting...its like running into a restaurant and the waiters asks you if you want to eat something...DUH

I think you encountered a random bored player. Botting isn't that hard to detect, you just click on their mob once, they will continue...click twice to attack (disarm weapon first for your own safety) and they will move away. That is typical 3rd party behaviour.
Players are notoriously bad at detecting bots apart from the most obvious of obvious and are very quick to jump on the accusation wagon.

GMs should hopefully be alot better and not spend their time running around after you (when cats and necros are full of gibberish bot trains), but one never knows.

and IBTL.
If your going to two box always make sure you have an eye on both screens. This is the hazards that one has to accept when they choose the two box method.
I don't bother even suspecting parties of less than 9 as being bots. I'm sure there are a lot, but with the 18 bots in the same train (Yea, beats me, too) killing x0.5 hp alpen animals I already got my hands full when trying to train and can't be bothered wasting my time trying to "find out" if that duo over there are botting or not.

Yeah, ironically enough this is mostly a burden for legitimate players.
A two-box moves nothing like a bot. Anything that's on autofollow screams "not botted" - simply because the autofollow blows so hard that only those who do not have an alternative would use it (IMO).

Any buffer holding a fishing pole screams "not botted" too - of course only in conjunction with the above.

There are some tell-tale signs, like targeting behaviour and movement, and if they're missing I just assume in favour of whoever I'm watching, no use getting growly all over people that might bot when I could be getting growly over people that definitely do bot.
I am not sure why you feel auto follow and auto assist suck in combat areas.

Its a bit faulty, just like its a faulty observation to assume that a healer that stands and sits when healing or recharge. Its more because people don't know any better.
I was called a botter on my dwarf solo, even though I was running away and shouting insults the whole way.. it happens.

here is an example of why people think others bot when they dont

So called people who place themselves in judgement of others. Am I to understand that because you say its a burden to the legimate player then I have to believe this? Lets not finger point to the 3rd party useage but lets direct our attention to the lack of understanding on NCSofts part.

The players have repeatedly stated they do not like the drop rates or the grinding in this game. So when you say burden your referring to the bot player but in reality you really mean NCSoft.

I really would like to meet each and everyone of you "carebear" players in game so I can constantly use the game as its intended. :D
Autofollow breaks, autofollow hangs on corners, autofollow does all kinds of things ... I'm not sure what you mean about sitting and standing, that's easily macroable - or can be buffered in, even with the mighty buffer of only one action.
Autofollow breaks

And is easily resumed with a single button push, or if you're experienced prevented all together.

autofollow hangs on corners

Do it a few times and you can clip through, depending on the corner. And if you get stuck, a simple click with the mouse and one keyboard click and you're back on track.

Most people assume you're a bot if you stand up, heal, sit down. Even more so if you know how to make a single macro do both single and multiple heals inhetween stand and sit.
