Here's my guess based on experience with 4 previous chronicles. PURE CONJECTURE.
(1) Servers will go down TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 @ 10 am CT
(2) There will be a several hour delay before the update server goes back online.
(3) Servers will go back up on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 somewhere between 12 and 2 pm CT.

Any idea how big of an update are we looking at. I think C4 was about a 800-900 megabyte update. Will it be bigger or smaller then C4?

About the same, Explorer reports a 940MB difference between my test (C5) and Live (C4) folders.

During the C4 launch, werent the servers down for like 4 hours? I remember it being a very smooth launch, best ever.

btw, I hope the launch to C5 doesnt take down the manor like it did in C4. Might be the only chance for some people to turn in their seeds they have had for the last 4 months

I don't remember having a full day downtime since c2. C3 and C4 updated rather smoothly and the servers what up hours after its release.

One coudl have thought a well planned event like that would be ready a bit more strictly than 2 days ahead.

Any chance we can copy the PTS client back into our main folder and keep the origional exe insted of having to patch up to c5 again?

About 6 hours, yes. It was the first time they didn't bring down the servers for a full day. If they do that again, I will be very happy.

Sure, I do this every new Chronicle. Just copy every folder (new or old) from your C5 PTS folder over your current C4 Live folders EXCEPT the "\system" directory and the files in the main "\Lineage 2\" root directory.. The patcher will update anything left over. And instead of hours the update will take just a couple minutes.
(Of course this assumes you have the C5 PTS client.)

I'll put my money on there being a delay to the C5 launch, hence no downtime details as yet.

Well.. I'll quote my Sig, which is a quote from TisirinNC :
Well, all MMO's are perfect when they're under development and a catastrophe when they're in production, it seems.
I don't think he realised how he was right back then.
