Need help with class choice

Hi,
I am a L2 newb, my only char is a elven scout level 32 on Teon. Now I want to start a new toon on Franz.

I would like to make a caster but can't decide.

- I like light elves very very much
- Dark elves are ok but the colors a a little dull ;)
- dont like human race

So my choice was Spellsinger, but I read a lot of complaints, that spellsinger cant solo.

I could accept some downtime, actually I like killing fast and then go afk for a while, instead of a slow continous grind ;)

Also I like grouping, but often I dont have enough time for a long gaming session when I log in, so soloing should be possible.

Is soloing possible at all at higher levels? Are spellsingers wanted in groups?

Btw. a buffbot is not an option because I want to enjoy gaming and dont want to bother running two clients and switching between them ect.

How a about elemental summoner? Is the kill speed very slow, and is he wanted in groups?

I played a sps and a sh to level 20 on test server and the sps died less often because if I get aggro of two mobs its easily possible to kill them even in melee. SH died more often because she got interrupted a lot more. I also like PvP.

(pls excuse bad english, its not my first language ;) )Thx.
well MalineII usally tells everyone how good she is able to solo and i would take her word for it.
She plays an Elemental Summoner...
I'm god! Rawr.

But... That's the spellsinger, in for words: burn MP, go AFK. It's not that they can't solo, they just have a lot of downtime and don't produce that great a solo rate "over time," but it sounds exactly what you're looking for.

However, ESs are wanted in groups after level 56. They can grind fast and furious for 20 minutes with the merrow, scraping at the bottom of their MP and then resting up somewhere.
If you like PvP, summoners aren't the way to go. they've become unbelievably gimped recently, witht he addition of the Erase skill.

My SpS is in his 60's, and got there with little help, because I wasn't fond of sharing exp and drops. It IS a pain to train them, since they only have one mp management skill, and it's not very good. You'll burn a lot of mana, then sit for a while.

The + side of the the spellsinger is that, with proper tats, gear, and use, they can be VERY strong in PvP.

SH is a solid option as well. Level 20 is not high enough to make a good comparison. SH will hit twice as hard at higher levels, due to their much higher INT, while the SpS will be much faster due to their higher WIT. The SH is much better with MP management, with their death spike and body to mind skills.

Nukers are always a solid choice all-around, as they have become pretty stacked over the years.
Also remember, if one plays a Dark Elf Caster, don't forget to kite your mobs.

Hit, run, hit... until it (they) are dead.
I got a lowbie light elf wizzie (24) and can empty her mana in less then 2 minutes in a whirlwind of destructive power. then I have to rest for a long while.

But in those few minutes, I absolutely rule.

You want to have a recharger with you at all times. Fortunately you can summon a unicorn once every hour so you can grind for 20 minutes. For the remaining 40 minutes, find a healer.
