How many Chronicles ?

This is not a techincal question, but more of a "where the game is heading" one...
I guess everyone knows that the word on the street is that there should be 12 Chronicles, but i've read in an interview with the Korean devs that C5 will be the last Chronicle :eek:
So, what does this means exactly ?
That C5 will be the last major update, and that we'll only get patches from now on ?
And is there an official source somewhere about those 12 Chronicles ? Or was it totally player-made-up ?

The 12 chronicles were not player made up, but that was stated back in prelude. But has since then have been removed from the offical site. So no, unless someone just happend to take a screenshot at the site in prelude, there is no official source.

were is this interview? can i get a link? I love this game it would be a pitty for it to end. I am still pretty low lvl (35) :(

I dont think the game would end, i guess/hope there'll still be new content, but maybe just in the form of small patches instead of huge Chronicles...
This would make sense anyway, as the devs are now working on Lineage III :p

This is the last chronicle. The devs said however that it is not the last big update. Basically the Chaotic Chronicle is over. Basically theyt won't be called chronicles anymore.

well atleast not in NA/EURO servers.... I think they still will make Cronicle updates in the Korean servers and then make unnamed huge updates on the NA/EURO servers.
So in the future we will proberbly see a lot of cool cronicles and update on the Korean Servers and then some updates with some of the stuff for the NA/EURO servers.

It's kinda beeing a L2 hybrid between L2-korean and L2-private servers (yes I know its a no-no-word)

They haven't figured out what "C6" is going to be called yet. The storyline advances, the updates continue, and they call it "Age of Unity" or something like that.

I see this as being likely. Just different wording.

All we do know for sure is that it's going to be exciting to see what happens next.
I'v heard stories about a whole new continent on the left side of Aden, where there should be flying chars. According to the rumor it should introduce one(or more) new races to play, a race where it should be possibl to fly :)
That rumor linked with some screenshots that was poste on a korean site where some chars seems to be floating around, makes it quite exciting to se what comes next :)

Just try to go back to Prelude/C1 and see all the changes that has been done all the way to C5.... it's almost like a compleatly different game.

There is new content.

What happened is that there was a slip of the tongue and people misunderstood what one of the developers said.

C5 is the last major update that is called "chronicle". Why they had to change, who knows, but I do know there is at leat one person over at NC headquarters who really has no idea what they are doing.

There will be major updates and given how the game is going (in a positive way since they are also adding a new server) , there is no "end in sight" so to speak.

They will coninually add the major updates as long as the game is successful.

This actually jives with what the president of NC soft said. He envisioned Lineage, Lineage 2 and "Lineage 3: The rise of Sovrath" as existing side by side.

L2 started as beta, then close beta, prelude; then eppisode 1, eppisode 2, eppisode 3, eppisode 4, and now eppisode 5...of all these cerrent/past eppisodes where called "chaotic chronicles". they will no longer be called "chaotic chronicle" past C5.

Sence eppisode 1, we've seen heine, subclasses, 7 signs, mannor system, elmore empire, new raid bosses, epic jwellery, A grade gear, S grade gear, loads of PvP changes, olympaid/hero's/noblesse.

Now that the Elmore Empire has been introduce to the world, "the chaotic chronicle" will cess to be known and will hence forth have a new name.

This new eppisode that will be: eppisode 6. will bring to us GRACIA, the 3rd Empire. They are at war with both Aden and Elmore.

I meen seriously if you'd just read the Lure and stop to read the quest lure while you do these quest you'd learn alot about this game, and maybe understand there is more to it then just ganking people day in and day out.(case in point: rune and the von helmens; and how they where betrayed by harden 'master for necromancers')

You're posting this to a role-player. Someone who does read the lore, both on the site and in game.

I am confused, and I am also a role-player. I read (and screenshot) the NPC dialogue any time I run in to something new.

But then, none of the lore in-game or on the site says anything about C6 and beyond. What Grazzt and, in fact many of us are trying to understand is a statement made by one of the developers that hinted that the end of the game might have been upon us.

It's been posted atlest 8 times that " omg omg omg L2 is ending".

My post was only ment to clearify that L2 is not ending but is still alive and well and has more of a story-line to carry it forword.

My post is a forth right concept that we've only just gotten half way thu L2...we got a lot of content to come.

Thats part of what I was saying...when look back at the past, you see all of that added content. which is the other part of my post.

now look to the future. what would you expect to see?

A few small up dates... or more lager updates.(mid chron patches or C1-5 type patches)

Don't think L2 is ending just cause you hear "chaotic chronicle is ending". and think there won't be a new name for a expantion that has a different title to it.

L1 had like 3 large expantions to the story..I know that not by playing the game but from seeing some players post the prerelease videos from L1 and each expantion they had. and of what players who've played in L1 and talk about it here.(go to off topic forum...it is in there)

First of all, it's "lore" and not "lure", and "role-player" and not "roll-player"... Jesus... Once you have learned how to read, maybe you should think about learning how to write.
My remark about the 3rd continent being named Aion was a joke, based on the new game coming from NCSoft and in which you can play flying characters (and the game is named, yea you guessed it... Aion). But it seems that even a simple thing like that is a bit too much elaborate for you.
