EE Partner: WC, BD, SK?

I know, people are going to shout nuker now - but nukers are not only boring to me, but also cheesy - and they can manor, but certainly not as well as a melee.

I've currently already got a palus knight at level 31, but I'm not yet sure whether she should continue to be the EE's partner at all, and if she does, as which class:

My priorities are
1.) A class that can survive if the EE freezes for a few seconds. I think SK, BD and WC all fulfill this - drains for SK and WC (WC's being much more powerful I think), and of course UD for SK and BD.
2.) A class that can manor well. Once again, all three fulfill this with decent melee killspeed and not minding the one or two extra hits received while manoring too much.
3.) A class that can kill at a decent speed. I know the BD probably kills faster than the SK (for obvious reasons), but in the direct comparison he's behind on bot other aspects (duals are bad for manoring, and no shield/no armour masteries is bad for survival), leaving them pretty much tied - and me wondering about the WC. Since no other buffs are otherwisely available, would not a WC, with self-buffs (and possibly thanks to dedicated recharges enough MP to keep soul cry running?) outdamage the other two handsomely?

I'm a bit confused on which way to go, but I know that if I want to switch to WC, I should get the shammy ready and to twenty until the signup week ends. :D
I think the SK would take more damage then the wc or bd.
For the manor system, again SK, they have enough magic strikes to kill quickly and they get shield skills.

I think that BD and WC would not make a good team with your EE for manoring.
If I remember right you have a PP buff bot.

I think out of them BD is the strongest choose cause their kill speed is so high.(61+) with that it would make it hard if you stop the atk for soul crys or seeds.

Even tho WC can self buff. I don't beleave they are great for solo play past 40ish low 50's.

have you conciderd a dagger?

I knewst to play a assessen used a dagger, great dmg out put.
with a rouge or a bd the AW would be a strong toon for soloing.

If I remember right you have a PP buff bot.

I don't. Only the EE and self-buffs from the class that gets boxed.

And yes, I have considered a dagger and don't want one - they're not that good without crit buffs, and eat a lot of MP for healing.
WC isnt that good for solo damage and EE doesnt adds too much damage. I tihnk some damage class will be better then WC for ee's duo partner. And even with EE you can't keep the soul cry all the time. I tryed..
Ah, aighties then.

After almost ten minutes of:
Woofie: SK!
Woofie: Or BD?
Woofie: No, SK!
Woofie: Ok, I'll stop bullying you, i think...
Woofie: BD!
Woofie: No, SK!

I've settled on BD. Thanks for the input guys! :D
I play a BD and have no prob at all duoing with an EE (I just love the sounds the LE females make :P ). Just make sure to keep up regeneration and agility. The same should apply to your manoring pair.

Just for additional info, I manor solo on whites with little to no problem.

but remember i'm still a newbie in reguards to learning other races/class.
why did you go with bd over sk?
Two reasons - A, the dances definitely put the BD in at superior killspeed over the SK, and B, I think with a dedicated same-level healer defense might not be that much of a worry. Of course the EE buffs compliment the SK a bit better, but ultimately that doesn't matter if the BD can go non-stop also.

I also reviewed the focus SA on C Grade duals: It's only 40, so I won't feel bad running around with un-SAed duals ... and in B Grade, compared to the Damascus for 70 million, I think I won't have a problem making Tsu*Tsu's +4.
Well, to be 100% honest the class just appealed to me more, from play style to party integration. This being my 1st character I did a lot research before I made her. I wanted a class that could solo well and be an asset to any party. So, I narrowed it down to BD or SwS. Then I found out the SwS solos kind of slow so I went with the BD, and I,m very glad I did. Nuker parties like me for the dance of mystic, concentration and melee parties like me for fire, warrior fury. Heck concentration even helps the healer/buffers in pvp.
I didn't think the BD killed that quickly. i might have to look into this more. My PK is at 35.
BDs get dual masteries, and of course they get their buffs - the three most commonly used ones are equivalent to a stacking Might 2, Haste level 1 and Death Whisper level 4 (for lack of better description).

Pretty solid.
how well does the ud hold up at the higher levels?
and in C5 don't forget demonic blade dance, it reduces patk and matk of nearby mobs. here's the question will stack with power break?
Probably yes, and I imagine much like Curse of Shade, it will only do 10% or so.

I don't know if UD holds up too well at higher levels - but I don't think pulling two or three adds will happen too often - and I don't need to kill all the mobs while UDed, I just need to wait for a second client to unfreeze if in doubt. :D

I really don't care much for power break...but I'm fairly sure they stack.

best C5 skill is arrest: it's a root, that pulls argo to you.
Those DBD don't land that often, Arrest lands quit frequently.

the cast of arrest is based off of atk speed, and not cast speed.

I so far have managed to get 660 atk speed, thats with tillum heavy, furry, zerk2, haste 2, no SA, no tattoo.

at 52 mel you want tsu*sls. BW heavy.

at 61 you should go eathier Tillum or mejestic.

Mejestic is nice cause of the -50% to stun DE's low con makes them highly acceptible to getting stuned alot.

And tillum is nice at higher lvls when stun fades from some spots and PvP really opens up for the BD.

I coudl say alot more about it...but there is a post where I explain this very well " bd's A/g set up" some where on this forum, about a page back now.
I know what gear to use, thank you though. Llothlian, remember?

In either case, I refuse to wear the very ugly SLS*Tsu and will be going for Tsu*Tsus instead. :D I also don't think the BD will be reaching 61 - and if she does, that's where she'll end, because as a healer, the EE needs no S Grade, and that means she's done her due of paying for for his when he hits 61 and is in A Grade.

No point to bother before 61, unless you manor on group mobs.

Go NM*NM Maline....they look super kewl ^^
Krissa, what do you mean exactly? And what changes so drastically at 61?

NMs are ugly as all politely ommited! ^^ It's a shame that Cal*Cal only has critical damage, they're awfully pretty.

Krissa, what do you mean exactly?

If you pull smartly, you don't really need external in-battle heals for these classes even on 4x mobs.

And what changes so drastically at 61?

Your need in manor, I guess.
I'm confused!

Anyway thanks for the heads-up: I'm a bit worried about suddenly needing to heal when the second window's freezing up, but if it's not a concern, the BD decision was probably even better.

I'm still not sure what you mean changes at 61... I'd still be going to catacombs etc, I think.
ye, the bd is propably a good choice

wc has all the buffs you'd want, but our dmg output is pants, due to our stats being mystic stats and not a fighter class

BDs does tremendous damage, especially with focus duals,
the bd propably wont improve your EE's dmg output all that much though, but the EE can heal and recharge etc anyways which makes up for downtime
I think the SK would be a better choice then the BD.

Why? Because EE are very good at defensive buffing and can boost the natural good defenses a SK has to pretty good levels. So if the EE freezes for a prolonged time, the SK can survive. Worst case he actives his UD II.
Actually, an orc mystic with +4STR in BW heavy has higher base PAtk modificators than a darkelf without STR tattoos - there are some mechanics that raise mystic stats higher than those of melees of comparable STR.

PS: I've already bought the storms to be made into kats - no going back now. :D
good for you BD's are the way ahead :P

that might be

but we do pants damage anyways

Even lvl BD has about 200 patack more (my set up +4 str, GS+7 and his best focus duals+4 and dont know about tats). When i truyed duoing with ee she couldnt keep my mp up all the time.
WC+EE= good foundation for a party
Yeah, but I can't two-box in a clan party - if only because of the very real increased risk of freezing my PC up.

Besides, we have a different greeny in clan. :D My EE and the greeny are our only healer/buffers.
EE's are not duo buffers.
Speak after me: The healer is not always the slave.

The healer is not always the slave.

The healer is not always the slave.

Of course I could (in theory, if I had a few more PCs and too much cash to burn) box the entire perfect party just to slave for the EE, but I think a single toon is quite sufficient.

I remember me tanking in duo with a dagger user on undeads. MoH or Windshackle to pull and hate. Was quite a fun, and not too slow to level.
Well, even if it's not too slow for you - the dagger would probably get more out of any buffer with Focus/DW. But that's beside the piont; the EE is the constant in my equation.

My first FoTM reroll! (OK, I've been wanting one since late C3).
Since I rerolled into a PR back in mid C3...does that make me a FotM-er? =(

If there was one, that is. And don't underestimate the damage from a single MoH, especially in C5.

EE is fotm in c5 ?

:(

im making one on franz, i dont wanna be a fotm !

EE's are not duo buffers. it's simple. do they have empower? no. do they have crit buffs? no. they're useless in duo's. doesnt mean they're not good classes, i love EE's, but they're not duo classes.

Yes.

they're useless in duo's.

BS.

And by the way, Maline's idea was to (power?)level an EE. Do you suggest boxing a full party, or what?
Yeah, let me buy seven more computers and seven more accounts... on one I'll make a WC, on one I'll make a SwS, on one a BH, and on the other four I'll make daggers. That's a good group for my EE then, right? Oh wait.

The EE is not the slave.

The BD is the slave, who plays with the EE when a nuker duo in the right range is not available (and there are more nukers than SEs+EEs, so yes, we are suitable for nuker duos, just not first choice - but Clarity might actually fix that, not sure), and manors to pay for both their gear.

The EE does not need to "offer" the BD anything, because the BD is the slave - I mean, what does an archer offer an OOP prophet?

1 nuker optimally takes 3-4 other classes. 1 se, 1 ee, 1 pp, and potentially 1 BD.

the SE, PP, and BD can be dropped from party at 52. but as far as who's the "slave", who gives a ****?
I have two accounts, and no hardware, money or desire to run more.

That means I have room for one slave and for one character. The one character happens to be an EE - I can't replace him with something else because that's the "main" class - you wouldn't tell a Destroyer boxing an SE to start up a nuker since the destroyer is obviously the worse duo partner for the SE either, would you?

In short, while I'm well aware that the EE is a sub-par buffbox, he's not a buffbox at all, so that is quite fine.
