I play a Shillien Elder (level 53) and am starting to realize that people don't really want me in groups (it seems everyone has an out of gorup SE slave these days).

I am group dependant. . and can't kill a fly.

Is there ANY plus side to the SE. . because right now I feel like starting over <cries>

get a second account, and use your SE as a slave!

Get some friends and party with your's SE with them. I belive that all my friends clanies will always take live one over boxed. Or at least get the boxed out of party but still helping with recharges =)

Level up a bishop, then be grateful an SE has like 10x as many skills.

what server are you on i'm always looking for an SE to duo. i'm like you i just play one account at a time, although i'm thinking about boxing an SE because like you said all the "real" ones are going away.

Go to HV and shout for SE LFG. You'll get swamped with mellees going to EG who want to kill faster (and cheaper, VR > GHPs)..

Although I don't play one, a good friend of mine loves his SE. When he's bored and looking for something to entertain himself, he likes to find slow moving non-agro mobs and super buff them with everything he has then sit back and watch some unsuspecting person come over to attack them.

Yes it isn't nice but it can be used on bots as well. :)

Umm usually a clan will take a live SE. Esspecially if they want to PvP in the future. To pvp well you seriously can not have a boxed SE.

Also if the people are just a good bunch of people then they will alwayst take you.

Our clan for example has 3 SE's that people box, and only 1 live SE. That one live SE always has a party unless she dosn't want one.

If you can't find it, then do what others have done and get a second account and make your SE your new pet.

No, seriously, find a nuker or nuker group to play with. But yes, its hard to compete with boxed SE's simply because taking you instead will mean half the XP for them.

A clan is a good bet, especially one that does raidbosses.

I have felt the sting of boxed SEs as well, but I've maintained Olorae now for 2 years and then some.

I rarely group outside my clan (usually the exception being former clanmates and friends), and I group with archers, mages, and standard melee types.

At your level, you'll do good with a few nuker friends. Tell them to ditch the boxes and enjoy the glory of a true SE.

Its of course a problem to convince them that its a good idea to get half XP and outlevel their boxed SE (=less recharge which is level dependant).

If they're a friend, they'll take the hit.

If they're not, time to clean your friend list.

Are you a friend if you're asking them to take that hit in the first place?

I remember having an SE to play with, was great fun. Then game time became less and less frequent for her and that just turned the fun upside down because there weren't any SE's around that level. Sucked :(

Go on some raids and start filling up your friendslists - hey, organise some raids of your own.

Also, investing in a kris and a BW light (or even doom) set might make passing the time between duos easier. Groups also come out of buffswapping and buffing random people.

Look at things the other way around, we all need a SE to XP efficiently, because its hard to find a live one most chose to box it so they dont have to waste time.
Do the same thing they did, buy another account, roll a nuker or melee or whatever you like best and use a boxed DD to level your healer, problem solved.

It seems maybe you just haven't met the right folks yet. I've been in multiple low pick-up raid groups in low 30's on Devianne the past few nights--friends list growing quickly now!

And, imo, raidbosses suck, its turned Lineage 2 into a mini-McWoW...everything is about raids, just like McWoW.

Raidboses don't necessarily suck, but they've been given too many interesting drops while being made too easy to kill with the casters unbalance.
Having 2 nuker parties take down a boss in minutes is just a proof of how improvable is the balance system.
Having Bosses give A armor sets easier than the quests is just a proof of how the ToI quest is broken.

Raid bosses give key parts far more often than full items. Not saying they aren't too easy. One night my ally did 10+ bosses with only one full drop; Majestic boots I think it was. And you're lucky if you can find 10 bosses up + get them yourself.

Either you were very lucky, or we have been consistently unlucky.

Truth is in the middle.

But A items are too easy to get from bosses that's sure
And not easy enough to obtain from ToI quest that's a certainty.

My Prophet is just a few levels above you & I would of loved to have you out with me well I solo. (wrong server thou) just shout in all the towns "53 SE LFG" & wait a bit for the response. The only other thing I can think of is open another acc if you can afford it & build another char, even a nuker, like an SH, has a ton of use for an SE & they are one of the fastest leveling classes out there. :)

lol levelling a bishop is definately harder but they actually have a purpose late game.

oh and to the OP I leveled my se to 76 (big mistake) I should've rerolled ages ago. I use my se as a buffpet now. Ditch it before you waste too much time on a class that has 0 end game use.

SE is for leveling its the best healer/buffer to level with especially if your a nuker or melee.

PvP is not what they are designed for. Raids they are rechargers.

Yeah. .but waiting till 75 is brutal...
I think the problem is my nuker friend (who quit the nuker at 40 to focus on higher chars) was like "hey. . play an SE. . they're great..."

I'm just really torn on sticking with it to 75 and subclassing. . or starting over with something like a spellsinger. And if I chose the subclass option. . would I gimp myself horribly if I went. .say. . .gladiator or something? I got a chance to use dual swords the other night and I looked DANG SEXAH swinging them! :)

Then roll a bladedancer, not only will you look **** swinging them, you'll also have these totally sexaayy bootey dances, where everything bounces :D

Hell, put the BD on another account and you can duo with your SE. Heck, give them both duals and you'll cause half of Aden to selfcombust. :D

i was thinking exactly the same yesterday when we were a 5 grp in ToI 10 with 3 of us having a 60+ SE box.

Still beats sitting around for 5 hours shouting "Looking for 60+ SE's for TOI raids, PLZ!!!!!"

With the new party member summoning coming up, this might be a bit easier.

Only classes with dual masteries are Gladiator and BD, Both being decent in solo pvp, but BDs much more wanted in group pvp. (much!)

What server? We have a LIVE SE in our clan on Kain and everyone (and I mean everyone) wants the SE to join groups. A live SE is so much better than a boxed one! We also have a live Prophet and Overlord but still need more.

Every clan should have at least 10% of their active players as a WC, Prophet, SE, Bishop, Overlord, or EE and another 10% playing BD and SwS and another 10% playing a classic tank. It seems like there are usually enough BD, SwS, and tanks but not enough of the buffing/healing/crowd control classes.

The Rift is an underutilized place (seems fairly empty whenever I manage to organize a group). It needs well formed groups (1 tank, 1 to 2 buff/heal/control/recharge, BD and/or SwS, and rest DD), has excellent XP and drops for everyone, and is a great place to develop and hone party management skills so essential in sieges, raids, and open PvP. I really wish we had more people playing the "support" classes as their main! The last 70+ Rift group I was in got FASTER XP than I can get in Forest of the Dead with an out-of-party SE! Imagine that...

IMHO a clan that organizes and builds itself to always have multiple Rift groups available and operating will be the fastest growing and wealthiest of all types of clans.

Seriously just quit your se, you got emp3 on it, level a necro or sh!

As for an SE's end game use, it's outshined in every way shape and form by an elven elder, especially in c5. Sure they don't get purify or greater group heal, but with c5 para time reduction purify's usefulness is reduced quite signigicantly. EE's get major heal which costs way less MP than a greater heal, and also heals for more.

SE's are destined to be 2boxed buffpets as far as I can tell, and not played by mains.

Prophecy of wind (which you need to grind to 78 to get) is good, but no party in their right mind would take an SE over a bishop or EE as their healer.

If you ever grind up you're gonna be put into 3rd rate pvp groups, and feel generally useless because the other healing classes outshine you by so much, and it gets 10x worse in c5.

i think the reason there are so many boxed se's is because there arent enough live ones around. I always see invites in catas for se's problem is there arent any. Make it all worse an se comes down to the cata's and then there arent any groups for them. There is some relationship between the timming for se's to get groups that prevents them from getting grouped. They are never in the right place at the right time =( But i agree it is getting harder and harder for se's to find groups because so many of the groups that require them have one boxed... what is a pole party wiht out vr =(
I still prefer live over boxed and I use both. If i can get a live se in party i will. Nothing better than knowing one persons job is nothing more than your life, makes my job half as difficult.

my clan/ally leader is a lvl68 SE with 69 coming up fast. she started the clan at the begining of C4 because of the same problem you are having, and now she has no probs get in a group. in addition to that, because she's an SE and is the clan/ally leader more "real live" SE's have joined us.

I guess I"ll just take the good with the bad with the class and keep on going. :)

the biggest thing is, do you still like to play that character? If you do, then by all means keep playing it. Take the time to find some people that play at the same time of day as you, /addfriend and keep on having fun.

well I do like it. .until everyone starts bagging on me for being basically a glorified walking, talking "slave". ..

I mean part of playing a game is having a class that can contribute and people actually respect :p
