Most people will tell you Necro's are the best PVP Nuker Class
SH levels the fastest.
SPS look nice (Sorry don't know tons on this class)
Sorc are one of the most balanced.
I still love my SH the best thou :)
but some still argue, best pvp AND pvp are the necro. for good reasons.
sps are more powerful (with overhit spell) than sorc, and cast faster so i would say they are still better than sorc. but sorc has much more cool casting animations :)
but you can set any nuker class up for either power or speed, or mana.
so it can always go either way.
and i too like my SH better than my sorc. just more fun to cast 3 equal powered nukes and still have more mp leftover compared to sorc.

Of course, always room for arguments heh
I was just hoping to state what most people I've seen say & post before about nuker classes.
Sps have miserable mana regen...
This was true in C4 and is still true in C5.
Sorc are better off with B2M1, but are still nowhere near as well off as necro/SH.
If you have an SE 2nd box, SH is still better due to Death Spike. (mana efficiency)
Provided the area you are in has more mobs than you can kill, SH + near infinite death spike spam (SE/EE) is better XP than overhitting.
Frankly Sorc and Sps have been nerfed pretty hardcore lately. While SH has seen part of this, they also had their silence buffed and they are the best at maintaining mana due to B2M and Corpse Drain.
Unless you have a manabot, play SH or necro as mages.
Sorc and Sps are pretty much dead classes to anyone without manabots. (2 minutes of killing, 10 minutes of rest)

Yes they do but just like all other classes with sleep it is now a non factor. The cast speed is to slow to use in almost all situations. Only time I used it on PTS was offensivly if mobs were to close to each other. Even normal sleep is to slow to use. So in short sleep comes off the hotkey bar and curse fear takes it's place.
Sps has been nerfed 2 straight chronicles now. Theuy are still a fun class to play but no where near as over powered as they use too be. If you only have 1 account go SH.
SH wins hands down. Download some of the Wobbler PVP compiles from EllieBelly's site- I would make my own but I can never be bothered haha. You can't get quite as impressive as that sort of PVP and editing though anyway so why bother.
Never played Necro, SPS bores me.
Of course this is all personal opinion though. But SH is recommended for security and strength, imo. Also DEs are pretty cool lol
I have a high level SpS. Absolutely the worst class I've ever had to level. With his massively fast casting speed he makes for a tough opponent to beat in PvP, but training without my SE would be non-existant.
I have recently started a SH, and I am WAY more interested in him. When people say they cause more damage, they MEAN it. I was amazed just how much easier EVERYTHING was as a SH. Since going 1 on 1 with another nuker isn't really an issue for me, SH is probably going to become my main sometime later this year.
As for the OP. there is no "Best" anything, so to speak. Each one has its own little advantages and disadvantages. With a nuker, you can really just pick which one interests you and you'll be fine.
Once again, don't play a class because people say it's strong. Play something that's fun to you, or you'll get bored and quit no matter how strong the character becomes. Trust me on that one. I made a SpS because people told me they were awesome, and now, even though they were kinda right, I wish I had gone SH or Necro instead. The dark attacks just appeal to me more than the SpS's little fairy-boy light attacks. :p
Wow I never knew this many people like SH's lol
I said earlier that I love my SH, but crazy... heh
So SH is the way to go if you want to level fast, have longer use of MP & do powerful damage. Thats why I like mine so much ;)
best best best
there is no best only difrance in play style
SH have more INT becose they do most damage
SPS have lower INT but more skills and quicker cast why??
becose over time both do same damage :)
so their is a equel change for both class's when fighting if Dark elf wins means ether better in skills or better eqipment
nothing more nothing less

Best, Best, Best?
Who said they were the best? I didn't phrase "best" anywhere in my post lol :p
I like the SH in terms of overall play for end-game...but I like my lil SpS better, keeping in mind that I leveled my SH before BSpS and before they introduced the increased recharge for nukers AND my SpS has always had a 70+ SE/SS following her around.
A SH with 15% on their robes and 15% on a weapon has a fast enough cast speed to be brutally effective against most classes except the SpS who with the same gear will win (in my experience) about 60% of the time.
With a 1v1, nuker vs. nuker, situation it really boils down to cancels, and frankly a SH with DC robes and a good round of buffs just doesn't get cancelled often enough to lose like they do at say lvl 40 where the SpS will win 85% of the time, because they have their short range speed nuke...the SH will get cancelled on 2/3 of their spells and be dead by the time they start spell #4.
At lvl 70+ though if the SH gets of his 2-3 nukes the SpS is dead...and in order to kill the SH the SpS has to get off 4-5 nukes...cast speed is good enough on the SpS to do that, but that's in a perfect, lag-less environment with a player who's just plain better than the SH.
If either of them get cancelled they lose. Bottom Line. In those wierd silent moments when you cancel each other it boils down to the next cancel or the quickest recovery.
Assuming both characters are the same level and being used strictly for PvP the SpS is probably a better choice...it's why I like mine so well, but in terms of a well rounded character the SH is definately the way to go...or a Sorc if you're into his/her buff cancel.
A note on sleep. It's not dead guys. It's on a 10 second BASE cast time. With accumen and a 15% weapon and 15% robes and zerk...which is not uncommon or particularly difficult to run with on a regular basis, it's still only like a 3 second cast. Obviously it's PvP uses are somewhated limited...especially in a small group scenario, but it still works fine for mobs...it would be like a healer stopping to cast heal on themselves as they ran from a mob...you'll probably get hit once...maybe twice...but not more than that. Just have to learn to use it more pre-emptively.
Don't get me wrong I really think they should have gone with a diminishing stick rate for PvP, and left the cast speed alone, but ce la vi....it doesn't make the spell as bad as everyone says though.

I noticed you said the SH & SPS in the same gear the SPS would win because the SH's casting spd still doesn't amount to the SPS. I agree, it's just rare to see all nukers in top gear. So an SH with 15% casting on weapon & 15% from robes, still has a good chance against a SPS - depending on the gear both of them are wearing. ;) Sounds fair!
I like the look of my necro sub, without the summon stuff hurts, but when TP is on you can take alot of DMG. Got into a pvp with my grp in WOA just before server downtime, at level 60 I got hit twice by a lvl 78 Ghost sentinel, ran back so he changed target, then ran back in and anchored him, that's before the anchor boost in C5 too.
Even if people will be buffing resist dark alot, they're still probably one of the strongest mage classes, considering archers can crit for up to 4.5k every second shot on lvl 78 nukers.
They also level insanely fast too, got my sub from 40-60 in 9 days, levelled my SE from 47-58 with it too.
Orka
if you read you understand i say SH do more damage becose of INT
i getting so sick of people asking others of "best" this "Best" that where are your own brain matter to think of something
you play a game becose you like something from game most people here play the game becose others say so =)
L2 ain't my first MMO, if I had wanted an easy run my first char would not have been a knight lol. I played Knight cos it was most appealing to me, and it paid off. My SH is for leisure.
Play what feels right, and do not fret- you can have up to like 9 characters on 1 server, a lot of people go wrong the first time (they find out).
What is your play still?
For me, I play SH. This is because I don't PVP much. SH's hit so hard. But casting speed rules in pvp, so you can get the best casting speed with sps or you can reduce casting speed, silence, or para with the necro.
keep in mind that saying "play what feels right" mighyt come back to the player saying he just wants the best nuker, because thats what feels right.
and btw you didnt say SH have more INT becose of that they do most damage. you said SH have more INT becose they do most damage. so yes you did mess up :P but who cares
then expleen why when i raid i aggress raid boss's from SH while they have TOP D and i got just a punny D weapon brother WELL?? and no it's not the level sinds the dudes are all 3 levels above me
sps can do damage faster....for a while, and then the SH's damage cathces up. At higher levels its not even close. You prob took argo off the SH's cause you were wearing Elven while they were being smart and were in demon but you casted a [censored] faster then them.
SH > SPS in pve any day of the week, and SH > SPS in pvp to...at higher levels IMO ( the SH has to be well played however, such as an SH on Lionna named Firlian )
Yea keep telling me that when your sitting on your *** after killing for 10 minutes while the SH is laughing at you, pks you, and is at full mana cause of of BTM.
