Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that NCSoft forgot to change certain ranks to female endings. F.ex playing a female character that is a Baron sounds ackward. Correct structure you can find underneath.

Noble (Male)
Noblesse (Female)

Baron (Male)
Baroness (Female)

Viscount (Male)
Viscountess (Female)

Count (Male)
Countess (Female)

Currently for a hero you use: Marquis (Male - This pronounciation is french and the previous names are in english?)
Marquise (If it's supposed to have a french pronounciation this above is the Female ending)

English Translation instead:
Marquess (Male)
Margrave (Female)
(Can it be that when 50 replies been made NCSoft will look at the thread themselves??) Feedback ++.
...And female clan leaders also have the title "Wise Man"...
What about Heir and Heiress?

BTW, you sure Noblesse is female form for Noble?
Noblesse is a noun that is related to "noble people" vaguely parallel to the way chivalry is related to knights. A female noble is simply called a noblewoman.

Margrave is also not a female Marquis but the horrible thing that the English and French decided to do with "Markgraf" (a person with a particular kind of ... feud I think, my medieval English is horrible) - which is pronounced Margrave indeed, but not quite spelt that way as seen there. :p

I have no clue what a female Marquis/Marquess is called. ^^;
[Edited because I still remember how to research at 6 am]

Marchesa
1. The wife or widow of a marchese.
2. An Italian noblewoman ranking above a countess and below a princess.
3. Used as the title for such a noblewoman.
I think if they cared about gender appropriate suffixes, they would have made female sorcs sorceress by now. NPC text has never been coded to speak properly to female chars. Pretty sure the Dion shopkeeper asked my character if she wanted to buy something for her girlfriend.

I agree with the poster though. Baron and Wise Man is just.. bad.
