I started out by trying to just use the updater to get C5, and it downloaded one file (newlineage2 or something like that), then it stopped and closed itself. now whenever i use lineageII.exe, it doesn't do anything, doesn't even bring the updater up.
After this, i tried copying my l2.exe over into my l2 test server file, but it brings me into the login screen, and it lets me get onto the Test Server Bartz, but the server selection also shows teon, seig, etc., but they are all 'down' and 9999 ping etc. don't know what that means, but...
I've seen other threads on this and am a newb myself anyway, BUT having said that, the Fileplanet download is going great for me. The link is on the lineage2.com main page. It took about 20 mins to get past the wait, then the dl itself has taken about 1 1/2 hours (I'm only 10 mins from it completing).
There's a link on the main page that says download C5 from Fileplanet with a clicky button that says Read More. Click that button to find the link to the free download.
regarding that link, i tried that and it says i must register to fileplanet (which is free) so thats what i did, then when i went into it to download its now saying i have to "SUBSCRIBE" as well which you have to pay for.... so can anyone tell me how its free?!
and zench, did you get to the page where it asks to choose a server to download from? well, scroll down a bit, and you'll see the free public download section.
