Anyone have any preferances as to what class is most fun for you? Thought I've only tried to classes, Human Knight and Artisan, I must say that I like the play style of knight. (But I usually play haelers so if I make one of them I'll probably have a new favorite.)
I'm intersted in your feedback!
I really enjoy my Elemental Summoners because they are/were so versatile, but now I'm not sure anymore. I think I'll enjoy being a healer in a big party, provided the party knows what it's doing.
I enjoyed - and the past tense is very important now that the C5 nerf has hit the shelves - playing a spellhowler. But now that they losat the ability to sleep mobs, I can't recommend them. And I would especially adivse against playing a spellsinger (my own class), because they have no tangible mp restoration, and for a mp dependent class, that is always a huge problem. But if you like playing for 5 minutes and then sitting around doing ntohing for 10, and don't mind taking the death penalty at least once every 3 hours, then don't let me try to warn you away from what is arguably now one of the worst classes. Maybe not the worst, but certainly much worse than it used to be.
On a happier note, the Phantom Ranger, which was already a really fun class, just got better in C5, and I highly recommend one.
Play something you enjoy - that's the most important.
I think one category that many people overlook is the Orc Mage. Both the warcrier and overlord aren't healers exactly, but the warcrier with all its buffs and the Chant of Life, can act as a subsitute healer if none other are available. The overlord is more difficult to level because it's dependant on your alliance, but it looks pretty fun and is a powerful ally in sieges.
I think Orcs are very fun classes to play. I'm at that point where I need to think about a subclass and I'm still undecided between Destroyer, Tyrant and Warcrier. The great thing about orcs is that they are very versatile and have lots of skills to play with :)
