Holy Resistance. I dont get it :-(

Temporarily increases your targets resistance to sacred attacks.



I dont get it. Where can i use this buff? :-( :-(

level areas like monastery of silence, in pvp against parties that exp at sacred attack weak point mobs (they most likely have holy weapon buffed), and in pvp against a spellsinger as their over hit and light vortex are both considered holy attacks.

Also, in PvP if someone has Holy Weapon (or the SwS Holy Weapon toggle) on then Holy Resistance will reduce their damage.

Even though having Holy Weapon on does not increase our damage against PCs, as PCs are not subject to weakness vs Sacred attacks...

holy weapon makes your weapon damage type sacred (while still being subject to pdef in terms of dmg reduction)
This is the reason holy weapon and the bd dance doesnt stack, as they both just make the weapon sacred, not add a % damage onto it (they stack but its no added effect)

Right... but, I say again, PCs are not weak vs Sacred attacks... thus making the Holy Resistence spell pointless in PvP... which was the only point I was making.

Not quite...

Solar Flare and Light Vortex from Spellsingers hits players, and reasonably hard.

Paladin, Sws, and TK have tribunal which is also a "holy" attack (think power attack but scales with level)

Granted, players won't have much use for the spell in PvP due to sheer infrequency of attacks that use it.

-Tribunal is useful, but not really worth a buff slot to protect against it...

-Spellsingers are going to be rare given the insane nerfbat beatdown they got...

Unholy resistance gonna be darn nice thoght, as most nukers got unholy related things, necros gonna get the bigest shaft thoght, even SH's.

not to mention dark avengers summons, and most monsters in L2 as they are dark related.
