Hmm, you mean when people are in your group and attacking the monster, your clicking their name instead of the monsters?
If thats the case try to adjust your playstyle so that when that mobs dead, you change your view to the mob the group is next running to/attcking and click it before they surround it...
Thats probably your best bet, but maybe someone else has another tip as I myself dont play an archer.

you need to be the first one to target the mob, not the group.
as an archer you are what the pros call a "puller" meaning you shoot the mob first and it comes to you. not the other way around. dont make your group move around.
Or ... just right click the name of someone in the party window that's already attacking. Right clicking the name once will "assist" whoever you picked and right clicking a 2nd time will make you attack whatever he had targetted.

2 options here
1) You didnt know it and people never told you so which is pretty bad in my opinion. Double right click assist can safe you party's life because of the speed.
Actually, I party very little..being a Dwarf I am unwelcome in groups and in general subject to MUCH ridicule.
I have been a dwarf for so long...that I can remember when I could Spoil mobs and have them not take aggro from it, meaning I could spoil a room of mobs, then kill them 1 by 1.
( let me tell you, that was a looooong time ago. )
So there you have it...my pathetic, solo L2 experience, only groups i've been in are raid boss groups and those are gone with c5 now ;)
I'd pick someone who is willing to learn new stuff over geeks who think they know it all. Don't worry ManicMonday, too bad we are on different servers.

For wich concern the dwarf solo experience (whine? :P :P :P :P): why you say there are no more raid boss in C5?
You can also retarget on the next mob while shooting the first mob.. you will not stop shooting at it (until it's dead) until you actually hit attack on your new target...

why are you parting as a archer at lvl 13.
why isn't this in player questions...don't belong in player guides?
if you try to target something while holding down shift, your toon wont move. which means if u misclick ur target and u clikc behind it, u wont move towards the target.
use the next target button. it not really for long distant targets, but if theres 2 mobs running at u, its easier to click on next target rather than trying to target it with ur mouse. one side effect- u might target a chest and get ur party killed.
