ok, I've been living in the new areas for the past few days trying to farm books and work out the place.
Firstly in all apart from one spot the XP rate is worse than any in game, the mobs are REALLY slow to spawn and only usually contain 4 mobs in an area. For example to hunt pronghorns you must hunt in an area where some spiders and 1 maybe 2 propnghorns spawn at about 2 minute intervals. I made 4% in 6 hours, then moved to a C4 spot and made the same in 20mins.
The book droprates are insanely low, ok maybe if it was a certain book for a rare class, but theres going to be hundreds of these books needed on each server and huge amounts of people have been reporting only getting 2 books in a day orso, these books probably not even being the needed ones. It's simply ludicris to be expected to spend so much time hunting to get one book when you know 10 other people who need it too. I've personally hunted 18 hours over 2 days to get one book and still not got it.
The droprate of Adean also really stinks, I made roughly 100k in 6 hours, that's no way near the cost of covering SS or anything else, other places are treble this.
And this isn't off blue mobs, they are white / green. Theres one decent spot in the whole place and even that sucks if theres more than two of you.
Hmm, I like the place. I 1 hit all those golems and spiders on crits. Those Pronghorns drop in a few hits too and its easy exp, no fear of dying and thanks to herbs of life I can solo without buffs nonstop so nothing wrong there. Maybe it's a place for melees and not for nukers O.o Gee, that would be a first haha.

is this cause you are hunting the 6x mobs with your lvl 75? Seriuosly, in 6-7 hours in a duo group of my SH and my SE, at lvl 63 for each. They both made almost 40%. They both got lots of adena. I got 6 books out there.
Each time the group mobs would spawn, 5 seconds later both characters were up 24-27k exp. Id like to see this anywhere else at any lvl.
The place, like 90% of the game, is a nukers paradise. 2 aoe nukes, kill 5 mobs that give around 5.2k exp each.
Now if only the place didnt have 100 people there.
I like that place, in 2 nights I got 4 books, a divine tunic and the exp is pretty fast as I can one shot each of the group mobs (excep ursus and golems at this point). No complaints from me.

As I said, the mobs are greem/white. I've been going on my lvl 61 sub. I found 1 good spot with 5 Yeti's and a group mob, FP still rocks this place for XP though, and drops. The SB droprates are insanely low, so is the adena.
I found the group mobs to spawn extremely fast. I went there with my PP friend and we were just checking the place out. They seemed to spawn about 5-10 seconds after we killed them.
Don't the pronghorns spawn minions if you use hate on them or something?
Or to damage specials. If I use Deadly Blow on a pronghorn I end up with a buttload of pronghorns. FIrst time it happned I thought I had major lag or something until I saw my HP drop. FD FTW.
Heh. In any case, Ferine you should also remember that drop rates sorta blow at some time of the day (in high likelihood, NCSoft refuses to make statements about this - but I got my first full drop in months two days after starting to play late at night again). Maybe you just need to stay up late. :p
Any sort of melee skill causes them to multiply into 8 Pronghorn Spirits. I was making them multiple on purpose thinking with more of them it would increase the drop rate for the Mass Curse Gloom..but [censored] says the Spirits don't drop them. :confused: If you make them multiple, myself being a Warlord, their actually worth a pretty good amount of XP.
The drop rates are low because I got fed up and left. One Pronghorn spawn in each spot is pretty ridiculous.

at that level I was two hitting at dev castle on doom series mobs for 7-10k per mob almost nonstop, 2 min going back to ch for recharge and buffs every round :) and about 9% an hour.
Great experience up there for me at lv 62 and <3 the pronghorn groups! tha_don, I dont know your hunting style but I dont see how you were able to hunt up there with an adequately leveled necro and get bad exp/bad drop rates/etc. I ended up getting the best % Ive made in a long time, and that was before my buddy even showed up to party and buff me up. Sorry it isnt turning out to be a good area for you, but maybe youre just not tackling it properly :)
I spent most of the last 5 days up there and thought that the exp was fine, adena drops fine, and had a lot of fun. I am glad that the book drop rate is as low as it is because a high drop rate would push down the insane prices that I can sell the books for in Giran after I log out at night.
Yah, its crowded 'cause everyone needs books. Get up at 6 AM when lazy folks are stuck to their mattresses and its no problem though.
