its the ping that makes you lag, not the heavy/light
ping is just the responce time from you to the server.. like a submarine.. low ping could be caused by you living far off, or you downloading to much...stuff, we all know what you like to download, dont we
Well, OK. Both Teon and Franz are in Germany, right? Why the high difference in their response time? This isn't right. :p I have a better ping on some US servers than what I have on Franz, lol. There has to be a problem of sorts.
Actually a high ping is if you live far off, so a high ping is worse then a low ping.
The heavy/light indications doesent necessary result in more lag(constant lag), however item lag and lag spikes tend to be more frequent on a heavy server then it is on a light server.
I too have a ping of 90ish on TEON and 290ish on Franz.
The lag inside the game is quite severe. Sometimes the character is frozen for about a minute before start moving again.
I also have experienced disconnects after a long lag period.
im getting freak lag spikes, it doesnt appear to be consistent with the same locations or load of ppl on screen, im 2boxing and never had this problem before :o
I live in California and get a ping around 190. I havne't played on any other server because I just started this game, but I do play Counter Strike and PING IS KING in that game...well, it helps =P. But I guess for these types of MMOs, its a little more acceptable to have higher pings for an enjoyable gaming experience. Since the pvp isn't based on twitch and low ping as much as a FPS game. Bottom line, lag sucks, but lagging while playing Counter Strike sucks even more, so it ain't so bad =P
I'm mainly just having video lag problems on teon near gludio and the ruins of agony. Not that I'm surprised, but it's getting annoying to watch a slideshow :p Ping's about 25 btw.

and franz might be emptier at your times. looking at your ping id guess you aint from near germany where the server is located. could be timedifference

In my first post I mentioned that I play from Greece. It's 1 hour difference than Germany (Germany: GMT+1, Greece: GMT+2).
126 ping is very good for me (ADSL 384kbps). I hope it won't change.
I have the best ping ever on Franz right now (120ms). The lowest I ever had. But unfortunately, in-game it's a totally different experience. Sometimes movement freezes for a few seconds. 5-seconds lag spiked on retail isn't something I ever thought possible :P
US servers play just fine. 200ms ping, but no lag in-game. Only Teon and Franz have those huge lag spikes.
Like I said in another post... maybe NCSoft should consider changing the ISP (Level3 in particular) obviously they cannot handle such gameservers, that require thousands of connections (not a matter of bandwidth).
