Now thats number 1 dumbest idea in the game how can you be a hero and the villian at the same time.
DISABLE HEROS BE ABLE TO USE IT.
2 use of clan hall isnt disable so they can still get full buffs and use the event gatekeepers also.
DUMB IDEA 2
3. BSOES a clan on devianne keeps getting the sword and bsoes everytime one of their members is about to drop it and they drop it to another one of their members and continue with the sword.
DUMB IDEA 3
Does anyone at ncsoft think these things through before they implement them?
take out 1. Clan hall usage of cursed sword owners 2. heros being able to pick the sword up 3. bsoes are disable for the sword user.
They kill people's healers as they are fighting or doing raid bosses then just let the whole rest of the people drop gear etc. if you fight back they bsoe to avoid losing the sword.
yup, instead of actually killing with it or do anything better, they just make up a way to make the game more miserable to others...
arrassing ppl killing buffers, healers and let the others drop the weaps...
well its all about mentality.. koreans play it for fun and have above all there is a reputation and code of conduct to maintain..
that is something that laks real time to any american and to us europeans since each time we see anything, intead of reporting, just use it at your own profit and to make others time in game miserable.
They kill people's healers as they are fighting or doing raid bosses then just let the whole rest of the people drop gear etc. Lucky Charm's are great! if you fight back they bsoe to avoid losing the sword.
They also train etc. with the sword. Do what they do and BSOE....I would say stun/attack them and not the mob so as to get the train to kill them, but they would probably...1..Attack them so as not to die(VR from sword)...OR...2..BSOE
Either way it is nasty...but for RBs that is not a hard fix...though you need to prep for a weeks Lucky Charm usage ahead of time.
BREZ (Costly)
BSOE (Costly)
EE w/ +++++Wit (isn't this like 80% rez?) = 0.8% loss (still a good about at high levels but better then 4%)
Addin Maline's Comment
EE = PR2 .... (Disappearing Group though you did say they kill healers first....[EE gets killed...a melee normal scroll rezes (due to the death being 0% if from Demon Sword) EE delays the rez until they are a bit free so as to stand and PR2])
Annoying is any melee, not one character on the whole server, being able to give you a PvE death in PvP by just rushing to the next bunch of aggressive mobs.
Just participated in a raid....a clannie was giving out 7-10 of them for the ones who didn't have it....I know for sure that our clan will be stocking up on these as soon as possible.
And there is a difference of Easy Way and Illegal way.
I applaud NCSoft for their willingness to be innovative and dare to put a NEW concept into a game, a NEW idea unlike other games, and to Stir Things Up!
i think the problem here is that people are mistaking the problem.
Dont think anyone is complaining about getting killed by zariche, the problem is being griefed by the wielder.
The wielder can come up to your group in mid fight, kill your healer, u die to mobs, they dont have to wash karma....
They can train you, because they have absurdly high pdef, kill your healer, u die to mobs, they take everything u drop.
And if u fight back u can either do 0 damage to them, due to their high pdef etc, or if u do manage to damage them they can run away.
Add to that the fact they can pass the sword between themselves once they get it, it all makes the sword a bad thing, imo..
And if you add to that the fact that certain people may use other means to find the location of the sword, and then use a hero to get the sword so that they can keep it, it doenst get much better:-(
Define that one for me?.....Killing tons of mobs to get to 78...oh wait it is 80 now....I already know that I am killin 1/10,000th of the mobs I would need for 10% @ level 78 while getting 100% @ 47/48 even this number is proppably low
I know how 4% could be 2-4 week's worth of XPing.
I have heard about the quests...the rare drop rates for certain quest stuff and a number of other things.
I think it is a moot point now that you are telling me to level so I'll let you think what you will about it.
I could tell months away people would complain about this. You didn't expect this? As far as dropping stuff, you have 15 seconds priority (your party) and a later patch will make you immune from ever dropping stuff. Sure the 4% loss is annoying, but befriend a nice Bishop or buy some Brez's and its not a problem. Of course theres an unfair advantage for anyone holding the sword, thats what it's about. If you don't like the wielder, go out and hunt him. Sure he'll just BSoE though after he killed half of you :/
However it isn't perfect. There are players that figure out ways to use game mechanics intended for one purpose, and use them for another.
The sword (I think) was supposed to be a curse, not a blessing (though much was done to prevent it from being a game ruiner - to the devs' credit). The notion that you can pass it along within your clan dies not seem to fit with the lore or the intent and is definitely worthy of dev review.
As a temporary item I find the idea that your castle/clan hall would reject you (as a cursed creature) while you weild the sword and it is a fair request.
Great idea but not above considerations for a tweak here and there.
When the location of the sword gets shown on the map in a future patch they won't be griefing... theyll be too busy fighting all the people coming to kill them

I'm going to have to disagree with you. The clan hall/castle is owned by that clan. If the clan wants to punish their members who get the sword, they can certainly take away that members rights if they find out their member has the sword.
Clan halls are owned by the clans and should be available at all times.
Exactly. The Swords is different from being red due to PKs.
I have already been taken out by someone with the sword... 1 hit. No XP loss, no drops. All in good fun.
But, the sword (unlike your standard red) gives outrageously boosted stats. It is not a matter of being chaotic, it is a CURSE, it is a dynamic STORY LINE which is why it gets special characteristics.
One of the special characteristics that I still suggest is that castles and clan halls disallow a CURSED player entry. Reduces some of the griefing potential, makes sense according to lore and is temporary.
Since the sword's befeits differentiate between CURSED and CHAOTIC my suggestion does the same, so can the arguments about what red players can do. The weilder is temporarily cursed.
Sovrath, that sounds great with only one small issue. Player from clan x gets the sword and calls his clannies down, let's them kill him for the rep points.
zariche sword user is "fairly" easy to kill if u have a few archers (and daggers?)
... lethal shot...
current its not a exploit... but it is a serious bug that needs to be fixed
(in some ways it can seems like a exploit tho.. since it wasnt meant to be used that way)
it says that the sword user cant recieve buffs, so then he shouldnt get CH buffs either
BSoE should not be a option when carrying the sword

Aside from that, I like the suggestions.
hmmm... always the fly in the ointment.
Ok, here's one.
The Demon sword needs to kill and therefore takes over a player (not really "takes over" but this is the storyline)
You are extremely powerful (hence making you a walking raid boss) with all the other enhanced stats.
Anyone can kill you but clan members or alliance members do not get rep points.
If you are being attacked and do not attack back (just stand there) for a certain amount of time, the sword gets sick of your unworthiness and will "leave you". As it leaves you you also get a curse that lowers your stats for a set amount of time.
So essentially, you have to kill with it or you lose it, it can't be passed (because on death it vanishes to reappear randomly) you can't keep it in a vault or not use the character because of the timer.
If you are killed, your attackers only get rep points if they are not in the same clan or alliance.
That would be hard to prevent - but it would be nice to make it impossible for anyone. Should the user just not be able to log out? What if their computer crashed? They'd be sitting ducks untill they managed to log in again. Even though people are exploiting (for lack of a better word) it right now, there's gonna be good sportsmen that are going to get it eventually too.
If you take away BSoE's thats fine, but what about Return. Add in the "summon player" skill coming out soon where summoners can summon you in a BSoE sort of way then you have a problem of controlling the situation. Except of course you need to be partied up for the summon player. But force logging is a problem, still they need to log into that same spot. Still it's hard to camp someone for hours with a raid sized force.
Return is fine, imo. It's part of your class if you're a prophet or EE. And since those two classes are "assistant wizards" or whatever it says, I think it's especially fine, because they're so weak normally compared to DD classes. (yeah, yeah, I know prophets can be dangerous with the proper setup, but many of them have set themselves up as buff machines).
For a problem that involve all type of griefs and stuff, players gathered and gave good and wise ideas of how to turn that sword a cursed and at same time a very exiting idea both for the player who has it and the others after him.
ALLWAYS LISTEN TO PLAYERS !!
<- we are good ppl
But hey! what about the pWnZor!111%%%444!! players who just want to kill every single enemy so they can say: pwned? lol
all they do is to use every cheap tactic to take advantage in the game.
they will not see this is as a good idea since all that they want is to grow the e-ego in a computer game :)
But hey! what about the pWnZor!111%%%444!! players who just want to kill every single enemy so they can say: pwned? lol
They will eventually grow older, retire and realize that they might have put to much stock into playing video games and not into personal development. :)
A cursed player should not be able to return to a town or a clan hall. I mean, hey! He's cursed right?
How about if return or scroll is used it teleports the sword weilder randomly to one of several locations. Could be... say, Schuttgart, maybe Heine, Wastelands, Goddard etc. Sword weilder doesn't klnow where he'll wind up. It becomes an inconvenience because they can't use GKs. They can keep using return or scrolls if they want.... showing up randomly around the map.
Of course once players start learning the destination spots, camping for a chance at the Zariche weilder could become sport.
Then whats the point of hunting the sword owner if there is no chance of it droping and you picking it up? Other than the Rep points of course
Let me turn it around for you.
Besides getting the sword, what would be a good reason for you to want to hunt the owner?
Could something be invented? Maybe even incorporate the sword or owner into a greater gameplay element.
Maybe when the sword wielder dies an orb drops that allows a player and his/her party into a specific dungeon.
So, it is in the interest of enemies to kill the sword owner (the orb cannot be picked up by clanmembers or alliance members).
It is in the interest of clan or alliance members to not have their now cursed friend die this way. So maybe it becomes a huge pvp fest with a Raid Boss in the center.
or not. Don't know.
Unfortunatley I'm not the right person to come up with an answer because I'm one of the few people who likes doing things for the sake of doing it.
But I'm sure something can be done.
Or, maybe the opposite. No reward, but the longer the Sword Wielder is in existence the longer the sun is blotted out (now we add a new element, maybe an actual eclipse?).
As long as the sword wielder is hunting, players get less xp, or adena doesn't drop, or npc's are scared and hide, therefore it is in the interest of players to find the sword wielder. If this idea is implemented then the sword will have to drop a little less frequently maybe.
I don't know. You guys are smart. If you can come up with an argument then come up with the counter argument.
