New Castle Owners want feedback on Manor system

General Discussion Started Last reply 6 posts
Greetings fellow players,
OK well we just aquired a castle and I dont want to say which one and on which server as to avoid conflict. What I'm really wanting to hear from players is your advice and feedback on how you as players would like to see the manor system set up. So any advice on prices, seeds, what sort of mats you want to see for seeds, taxes etc. What we can do to make things fair we will do. We realize that castle owners have an affect on the honest players who rely on seeds to make more money and gear so we want your feedback. And :( Yes we realize that bots are overrunning the manor system and all that. We all hate the bots. I'd like to keep this thread solution focused and not derail into a bot [censored] session if thats ok.
Please offer any suggestions that you would like to see new castle owners do. Thank you :)
For the rewards, simply think of the market prices compared to the NPC prices - whichever is more inflated is the reward you want to set.

Other than that, try to match prices on the other manors, or, which makes farmers happy but harms you a bit, set them slightly higher.
If you are on Lionna and your's castle has blue coba in list i would realy love to have reward 2 (mold glue) set of it, at least for a few days. Somewhy all castles have crafted leather set for it, and i need m glue for my crafts..
Generally basic prices for seeds and crops are fair. Many castle owners raise seed prices up to 5 times and it's like ok. But after all seeds don't make much money, so you can forfeit this "profit".

If you do things right, you can make like 5-6 times money you invested (with basic prices). You should sell manor products in quantities though.
My mostly rewarding set up was like this.
Regular seeds:
* seed prices set to 2.0-5,0 of basic price
* seed amounts set to 1/2 of max
* seed prices set to 2 times basic price for enchant-producing seeds
* seed prices set to 1,5 times basic price for non-enchant-producing seeds
* crops amounts set to max

Alternative seeds:
* only enria, animal bones/CBP, varnish seeds set up
* seed prices set to 1.0 of basic price (it's important, since seed farmer wastes a lot of seeds here)
* seeds amount set to 50-100% of max (depending on buyback for previous period - if seed is unpopular, there's no need in wasting adena for seed production, even though it's not much)
* crop price 2.0 of basic price
* crop amount is max (it's rather low amount anyway)

I don't know of more rewarding set up in history, even though our clan made very good money with this set up.

You can see if seed produces enchant scrolls or not refering to castle crafter.
You can look up basic prices in manor status dialogue (basic info tab).

I'd back this up in general. You need to know the market, drops and spoils to accurately decide which reward to set. It is a fair bit of work to keep an eye on all these things but it is also really annoying for manor users to see every manor set to the same reward when there is no shortage of that material on the market and the alternative reward is just as useful.

Alternating the reward types from week to week is also a good way of keeping the majority happy whilst not affecting your profit.
