Wanted to know, which armor/weapon is best for a level 20-40 raider. 2hand sword or 1hand and shield?
Mainly soloing, without a buffer or such. And how do destroyers perform pve wise? Reasonable killspeed? Or slow compared to other melee classes?

I've done 20-40 on a Raider twice now. (Hit mid 40's changed mains and when I came back wanted to change the name. :/ ) And I've tried its pretty much every which way.
I haven't tried 2H blunt, (The new ones yet) but I don't think it will change anything based on my testing on the PTS.
I strongly recommend the 2H Sword. (Claymore)
Blunts are only needed for stun and accuracy. But stun is mostly a waste of MP and you get Accuracy with 2H weapons anyway. (Although you can use the ACC toggle and just not spam skills too.) Claymore gives you the best Patk, Crit rate, and Accuracy combo for D grade you can find outside of a L70 PP.
Orc shield skills (Or the complete lack thereof!) aren't worth anything. Your better off with a 2H blunt versus a 1H blunt + shield in most cases. (Only if you hunt archers constantly would I think about the shield.)
And yes I have done the 20-40 without buffs...or SS spam for that matter. And it is a HUGE difference doing it now compared to Prelude when I did it the first time!
And yes, I still prefer the 2H Sword crits over using a 2H blunt on 'weak to blunt' mobs. (New C5 mobs in Orc/Dwarf areas have a lot of that.) With Rage, a Strength herb and a few crits in a row I can pretty much 3 hit most L30 mobs without SS!
For C grade a Focus or Haste are the SA's I prefer on my 2H swords. But before you put the SA on, I recommend using mammon and testing it out for yourself by swapping weapons...I think the results will speak for themselves.
