Hey NcSoft, whats been going on for the past day or so? after c5 and the server move to germany my latency was fine. as for the past day its impossible to hunt. what's going on? anything being done about it? and no its not my windows or my drivers for nvidia. everything was fine 3 days ago. tons of people in my vent from all over the world are having the exact same issues.
We are investigating the reports of lag for Teon and Franz. It may be related to ISPs, so it would help for all players to experiencing this issue to contact Technical Support (http://support.lineage2.com) so we can find the cause of the issue. I apologize again if anyone has the impression that "blame" is being placed anywhere -- that is not my intention. Thank you!

Teon hides behind a firewall, that's why you can't see the last hop. Network connection from Düsseldorf, Germany via Lambdanet, then DTAG.
The same from Nürnburg, Germany. Again, Lambdanet -> DTAG -> Teon, again no visible problems on the way:

If you're using something like tcptraceroute you can trace the packets through the firewall to the server, and there's happening the interesting stuff:

i did a couple of traceroutes and after 62.154.17.18 the packets sometimes either go complety missing or have a heavily increased ping time

Yeah, but I don't care what happens at or after the firewall - that's NCSoft's/PlayNC's turf, if the problem is there, they are to blame anyway.
Omg whats with all your moaners, there has been no lag at all.. Dont you just think its the amount of people in the nub zones and your comps cant keep up?

(1) it's a lot less busy in lowbie areas then it was a week ago.
(2) I'm sitting in town and even trying to bring up my inventory is lagged.
The problem seem to be wide spread. I'm from Sweden and Franz is virtually unplayable. My friend who is from Malta has the same problem. We hardly share the same ISP...

Translation: I don't have a problem. My game is running fine, thus there is not a problem cause I don't see it! Stop [censored].

There is only one correct answer to your post:
--> lol <--
We can also report lag on Teon today since 2 hours now... all our people from Austria/Germany are reporting different lag. Sometimes it goes better sometime worse.. ! Tracer route seems ok... maybe a backbone problem or truely a server prob... I would restart Teon just to check...
I'm on Devianne.... since C5 launch i've been experiencing lag. I'm in the UK, but the game was perfect before C5. Also, i can't hunt in the new areas around Schtuttgart, the graphics lag i get there is horrific, i've noticed a few areas that aren't rendering properly, like squares of water missing. It's not my gfx card (FX6600GT 256mb).
Things not rendering properly are likely a graphics card issue, try updating your drivers and unselect gpu animation in your options. Im in the UK as well and nothing changed lag wise in C5. Using BT here.
When I went hunt my SBs I also noticed a lot of graphic lag in the frozen labyrinth area, I just asume my graphics card isnt good enough to handle it.
I had similar problems the other day. I couldnt advance to town because the screen wouldnt load the new graphics.
Before you tell me its my PC, its not. The lag was like trying to walk against the wind. This happened before on another online game. This has to be a ISP tunnel thingy. One of the links is faulty. Would not be surprised if its GERMANY.
Sorry but I am not going to take the time to do a traceroute to see what the problem is. Thats NCSOfts job. Find the faulty link please. Thanks.
Me and others playing from Equrope on Gustin got several disconnects and major lags last weekend.
Last week me and clannie from neighbour country were suffering from disconnects. But we share one provider, so it was provider's issue probably. But later during weekend, I heard many people on vent roaming around channels asking "do you lag too?" and they definitely do not have "our" provider.
Seemed to me like some transatlantic connectivity was a bit broken, because EU connectivity was good up to the point where it leaves shore.
