Hi there ppl. I have a lvl28 Elven Oracle wielding top D duals..... things are going slow but ok. I was wanting to find out if M.Atk has anything to do with the buffs or heals that i cast?
I.e. does success rate increase with higher M.Atk or anything like that? Thanks for any help. :)
Buffs, no effect. Heals, very little. SPS and BSPS will matter much more than mAtk for healing. It does effect damage and land rates of debuffs. I'll let someone else post the messy math for this.
Just know this. Matk does affect heals...how much is a question the mathematician that SirE was talking about.
As for buffs...matk has nothing to do with buffs at all. You'll want to worry more about casting spd when dealing with buffs than anything else.
As an EE I suggest you focus more on your heals and matk and making money for sps and bsps since you most likely will not be grouped for your buffs beyond resist shock and evasion, maybe.

Well put. I have a level...oh hell...I don't remember anymore...level 25 or 26 Elven Elder I long since abandoned and a 53 SE right now. The Elven Elder, while better at rezzing and dealing with undead (and no doubt numerous other things I can't remember about anymore...like holy weapon), are not a good source to get buffs from. Noone likes to get hit or sit there looking stupid as a mob just wails away on them while they are stunned...but those are the really good buffs that they get: evasion and resist shock. Even holy weapon is only effect against (take a guess) undead...so for every other type of mob in the game there is...it's not helping much.
As someone who has both kinds of elders I will tell you this...M. Atk does effect your healing...but not very significantly. Raise your M.Atk 40 points and you might be looking at another point or two of healing...maybe a few...not sure. Not all that significant.
As far as buffs go...hmmm...you could have the m. atk of a level 76 Spellhowler at level 25 (hypothetically speaking)...and your level 1 evasion will still only give the same amount of boost to the stat and still only last 20 minutes.
If you are interested in being more of a buffer than try being a human prophet. They are the ultimate buffers. If you want to be a more well rounded healer than try Shillien Elder. On the other hand if you want to be something of an attacking (party) buffer you could try an Orc Warcryer.
Prophets are the ulitmate buffer, though we do lack a few.
As a high level prophet myself, the only buffs that I don't have that I wish I did was VR,EMP,Evasion,Resist Shock. But for those buffs we have the 2 elders...other than that, I have everything else.
As a future EE, you'll want to focus entirely on your cast speed. Your healing is 2nd only to a Bishops, yet your heals are much faster because of the super cast speed you have compared to the human bishop. Secondly, as an EE you get the spell Party Return which can be very handy in a pvp situation that gets out of hand too fast, or when you're in a dungeon and the party is in way over it's head. Speed is everything as a healer...so I'd focus on healing and speed...not matk at all. Just get sps/bsps
to either x2 or x4 your power.
I'm still not sure on the mathematics on the sps/bsps on heals...I just knows it increases it :P
<<<not a healer :P
I know it's probably too much to hope for but on NUKES blessed spirit shots of the appropriate grade double the damage...so perhaps they either double or, at the least, give a 50% boost to the heal. I can't imagine why it would double the power of an offensive spell and not a healing one...but I haven't bothered using bsps on my SE much. She doesnt have to heal much or often if I do crowd control effectively (we'll see how THAT is with this nerf on sleep).
That is quite true...and there are times when I do the whole F-key on one keyboard, a couple nukes on the other keyboard, and then finishing off the mob that's just standing there waiting to be butchered. I'd just rather my SH not be deprived of her (technically speaking) only means of crowd control. If I didn't have an SE sidekick...I could, potentially, be screwed if I went soloing. Well...maybe screwed is too strong of a word...but I'd have to be a bit more paranoid about what I'm doing in heavily mob populated areas like VoS.
i am not so lucky to have two accounts that demands a bit of managment esp. when the toon your not playing gets molested by some pk'er and your computer's not fast enough to change screens.
My only choice is to solo it or party with another player...
there is deff. the speed factor of lvling when you have a buffer by your side. :D
