This is a joke, a total joke. I dont even know where to begin. Does Nsoft not care? No GMs? No support? This is a total JOKE. hundreds and hundreds of bots running around, and NOTHING being done about it. This is a total JOKE. Bot names like jbfbrifvbws and ngfrngpm or what about jnvsnn ... COME ON, DO SOMTHING. Do you not give a **** about your own game. Half the population are BOTS. Why do all my GM tickets get ignored. Why are the same bots doing the same thing over and over for days and days at a time, and not one has been banned.
A good portion of them do get banned, it's just that it's so profitable to create a new account and farm with it until it gets banned. Especially now with free trials.

also IBTL

I honestly think it's more like 3/4 bots, 1/4 real people... :( It's a shame that NCSoft can't take legal action against some of the people using those programs, they could make an example out of a few and it would be less appealing to bot. Hell, now people talk about it in white chat in town like it's no big deal because they know they don't have to worry about any consequences.
IBTL
I forsee a Golden Padlock in this thread's future.
+1 FOR ME BIAAATTTCCCHHHEEESSS
As long as people keep whining about the symptom rather than the cause, the symptom will stay.

IBTL~ :p
Agree... Ban the customers of the bots, and the bots will vanish on their own.

I dont care, if they are lvl 80 and hero. If they buy adena, ban them. Clanhall was bought with botted adena ? Cool. Ban the clanlord, dissolve the clan, nullify the clanhall and the clan warehouse.

It needs to be a very dangerous task to BUY adena, so that the customer base of those farmers crumbles.

IBTL!! LOL

Bots do get banned, trust me.

You have said this so many times before, still although a very solid option it will not get further then R&D, and yes in before the lock.
Agree.
Now.. you know.. when I walk in a town and see a decorative item sold for 120 M... I think some prices are maybe a bit too high (hey just an idea.. I don't really care, I don't like those angelic wings anyway :p ).

(btw, what does IBTL mean ? :o )
Although this is not directly related to the topic on this thread, i found this article on the internet interesting. Apparently the NYC police just recently broke up a big bootlegging operation involving 40,000 counterfeited Movies and Music CD/DVD's. Anyways, my point is, i found this comment interesting.

"The director of U.S. anti-piracy operations for the MPAA, Mike Robinson, said pirating operations thrive because consumers are willing to purchase their products."

"In Before the Lock," it refers to posting before the moderators see and padlock this thread.
beaten the lock

Sure bots get banned, but not fast enough.
c'mon guys it's the weekend, we have 2 days of+1 before the lock. Anyhow, banning bots does no good when people are paying hundreds of dollars for D gear on franz making a new account hardly matters.
Aye, BAN ALL ADENA BUYERS.

What you can do ingame is:
1. Try to set the social norms on your server to shun those who buy adena, make it a bad thing morally
2. Convince new players not to do that, don't party with people who look like they buy adena. Don't party them, don't rez them, don't return their gear, and give them generous pieces of your opinion to let them know they are cheaters, and despised as such!
And how does someone who buys adena look?

(btw, what does IBTL mean ? :o )

in before the lock

don't party with people who look like they buy adena

i assume by that you mean that everyone that looks like they have a a-grade helmet MUST have bought adena on ebay? im all for banning ebayers, but its not up to you to decide who is legit and who is not.
Well, it is not an exact science, we all know that, and it is best (IMHO) to err on the side of caution. Best to assume that they are not guilty unless you have a pretty solid case.

For example, a lvl 22 toon with Glowing multiple weapons and top gear, unclanned, asking how to activate dss to fire continually may be one. Or a level 55 in best B, Glowing weapons, who asks how to teleport or which town has the most player shops (purchased account).

No mercy to cheaters.
Actually a more interesting note, is the BBC study that showed that the best customers for the music industry are pirates, purchasing 4 times more than regular customers. And that "reformed pirates" spend only less than ½ of what a regular customer spends.

Interesting.

And IBTL.
Actually one of the supposed non-cheaters on Erica who really did play her character all the way, didn't even know at level 52 that you could target yourself.

Just because you're ignorant of certain parts the game doesn't mean you ebay.
When I returned and first saw the auto-shot feature, I asked about how to deactivate it (I had accidentally activated it) in shout - at that point, I was in D Grade already.

Yes, some people give cause to suspicion. But if at all, I would think it's pretty much impossible to suspect someone you don't already know relatively well - and at that point, you're in the pickle of offending that person, who is likely at least someone you sorta like, and all the other people attached to them, by refusing to have anything to do with them.

I'm not sure, myself.
i know someone who, at level 55ish, did not know that you could assist other people by right-clicking on their party tag. i noticed he was having problems targeting in a party, and had to pm him so as not to embarrass him in party chat, which of course happened anyways >.<
