Something stuck me as very Odd today.
There are 2 mobs that my Human Nuker is hunting and something is just weird about it, since I do not want to disclsoe where I'm hunting (yet), lets call them Mob A, and Mob B.
Both scenarios are with the spammage of D-Bsps, same exact weapon.
Part 1:
Yesterday, my nuker was lvl 34. When I was unbuffed and un-herbed(sp?), Mob A took 2 nukes of Blaze(Blaze lvl 6) to die. Mob B, also took 2 nukes to die. 1st nuke was Blaze lvl 6, and the second was Energy Bolt, lvl 3.
PS: I can 3 hit Mob A in the following manner: 1 Blaze(lvl 6) nuke, 1 Energy Bolt(lvl 3) nuke, and 1 melee strike of my staff. Mob B is no change.
This is the Interesting/weird part.
Then, I level up to 35 and go and upgrade my skills. So now, Blaze is lvl 8, and Energy Bolt is lvl 4. (lvl 35 skill upgrades).
I go back to the exact same erea to hunt on the exact same 2 mob types, and find a minor but very annoying change.
Part 2:
Mob A still takes 2 Blaze nukes to kill outright. Mob type B also takes 2 nukes to die, but instead of (1) Blaze and (1) Energy Bolt, now Mob B needs (2) Blaze nukes to die.
Also, when trying to 3 Hit Mob A, it is no longer an option to 3 hit. Now Mob A takes the following: (1) Blaze (lvl8), (1) Energy Bolt(lvl 4) and 2-3 melee hits.
What the hell?
See the problem?
Why would upgraded Nukes (Blaze(lvl 8) and Energ Bolt(lvl4)) now do less damage when then then did at lvl 34 when back then they were lvl 6 and 3 respectively?
The reason for my concern is this is a Human Wizard going Necromonger. So that means from lvl 35 all the way till 44, I will have to rely on Blaze and Energy Bolt to get me through where I can finaly have an post 40 Nuke, and this kind of sucks if lvl 8 nuke is less powerfull then lvl 6.
Unless there is some nerf to the nukes who i dont understand, this must be a bug? report, along with EXACT info about equipment, level, what nukes you used, and spot, and names of mobs.
That is weird. As a Sorc I can say that I have been generally unhappy with the skill increases for my nukes. Millions of SP poured into Prominence for example, and no practical improvement. Same number of nukes required in most cases I can recall.
Needing MORE nukes? Bug. Not seeing a viable improvement? Typical nuke "upgrade."
Sounds like a bug, though I have run into some mobs that buff themselves with some sort of mdef thing that requires me to nuke 1 more time on occasion.
Just curious--when you were 'setting' your patterns at lvl 34 the first times, you didn't happen to pick up those "magic power up" pots did you?
It's a small thing but they increase spells pretty significantly. On a lvl 34 de dk wiz I noticed I hit for 1130 with that 2 minute herb and 960 without it on same mob.
Other than that, I can't think of any reason why same mob and same weapon would deliver lower magic power after the skill was leveled.
I've put 4 mystics now into the 30's and haven't seen that happen yet.
I noticed all my nukes are slightly weaker with c5 a hidden nerf?
What used to be 2 shot Kills is 2shot + a hit with my weapon
not much maybe -20hp/nuke but it's there .
Although i find the herbs more than make up for it.
Since I don't know your hunt spot or the type of mobs, this answer may be off target.
There are some mobs whose characteristics change at different times of the day and night. For example, some undead mobs have higher resistance to holy spells at night. The spoils and drops also change with time.
I suspect that Lineage2 is deeper in this regard than most suspect. Not only may mob characteristics change, doesn't the efficiency of some DE skills change at night, too?
Might it be possible that the drop and other characteristics might also vary slightly by spawn spot? How many of us have had mobs which spawn in one spot drop SBs much more often than the same mob which spawns three hops over?
When it comes to game mechanics, I bet most of us make assumptions...and what is that old saying about the word assume?
Further, there are now locations with multiple sets of mobs, all with the same name, but different HP/resists/drops/spoils. They all look the same of course.
(As Steve McQueen said to Mako in The Stone Pebbles, "You find.")
No, the mobs I'm hunting Do Not buff themselves, nor do they change with Day/Night conditions. No these aren't mobs that came with C5.
Even the Day/Night thing still does not explain why at lvl 34 the nukes were more powerful then they are at 35, 36, or even 37. I still do not see any improvements in my damage even though each time I level up, a few more M.atk is added to my toon.
admiral, some mobs gained magic resists post C5. in forrest of mirrors with my sorc and boxed SE i used to do around 1200 damage per Prom. post C5 i did piddly more (1280) cause one mob got lesser mdef.
check the descriptions of the mob - you might find they upped the Mdef overnight.
if that isnt the case, it may be that youre just failing a lot of attacks. happened to me one night i failed 6 times IN A ROW on green mobs.
I've noticed similar with my human knight. When I would level up and keep fighting in the same area, my stuns seemed to actually stick less often. And after training three more levels of sword and blunt mastery, my damage spread remained the same.
Almost makes you wonder if they're just toying with us.
I'll say it again as simple as I can: A few days ago (See, C5) my lvl 34 Nuker's Nukes were supperior than they are now when my nuker is 37.
Buffs/herbs are not considered in this test.
Nothing has changed ss/equipment wise. Only change is nuke called Blaze went up from lvl 6 to lvl 8, and other nuke called Energy Bolt went up from lvl 3 to lvl 4. Now both nukes do less damage.
Update: My nuker is now a lvl 40 Human Wizard(haven't done 2nd CC's yet) still using the same gear as pre-40.
The situation has not changed from the OP Part 2. Nukes still do the exact same damage on the exact same mobs and absolutely NO increase in damage is evident.
This might not be of any significance at all but can you remember if the colour of the mobs has changed but in the wrong direction?
I only ask because when I leveled both my SE and my Nuker at Nutral Zone I noticed on both occasions that I would be fighting the Werewolves there using (can't remember exact details) three spells. When my char leveled to a period of getting new spells I went back to the EXACT same spot (and it was no movement at all) and the mobs had changed from green to pale pink. I've asked about this before and the usual response is that there will be mobs of the same name but at a different level in the same spot however I rechecked this on my next toon and that wasn't the case, the mobs just became harder instead of easier. An oddity but something I didn't mind as it meant my char still received decent XP at same place :)
Interesting, but that would be "Negative, Chief", in my tests.
Actually, the funny thing is, when I 1st started hunting in that place, the mobs were Pink to me. Now the mobs are White, and I still do less damage to them then when they were pink.
Still awaiting responce from the support on this, just out of sheer curiosity.

Just remembered 1 more thing, again not totally relevant because you have already pointed out that it's not the new mobs but maybe NC have applied the following to a couple of other mobs ......
I was exploring with my lvl 60 around Stutgart (can't spell it ). At the Ice Cabin everything is green, pale blue or dark blue to her. She can kill the greens with shots on in about 3 hits. I went for a walk exploring and came to the area just outside of town where all the mobs are dark blue and hit her for about 5-15 dmg. Using same set up she kills them in 5/6 hits - go figure :(
To be honest I didn't check, my point was just the difference between a green mob and a dark blue one to my character. It tends to be an assumption that because something is for example dark blue instead of green it should be easier to kill. All I'm saying is that's not always the case.
since c4, lots of mobs buff themselves with BtB. also in c5, you may want to check mob stats. mdef has been played around with a lot. some mobs are now weaker, and some stronger.
