New gear is non-existant in C-5

Or at least..that's what it seems

I haven't seen one person on Sieghardt with the goggles, the hat or any of the hairpins. I don't think I've even seen an appella set yet. I've looked and maybe seen one, maybe two people with one of the new weapons. C-4 had the new gear popping out almost three days after it went live. I wonder what the difference is with this chronicle??

Da Smookster...
Its due to the fact that they parts for those items are hard to fish up. You can only fish them at night, and they are slightly harder fish to catch. And in one night I usually get 1-3 parts out of 20.

Then you need the gems, and 2 of the recipes.

And for some of the items, like the feather hat, you need the new fish scales and TONS of them.

I think the feather hat needs something llike

1 recipe
200 fish gems
300 shiny gems
600 white colord fish scales
600 ish red colored fish scales
quite a few hundred jade fish scales.

In a night of non-stop fishing I get 40 of each white and red.

I still havent gotten a single jade scale.
Yeah consider the gear I want in C5 is not possible to obtain, the key items only drop from the highest dungeon ingame from lv 85+ mobs, and it's a weapon for A grade....... I havent even seen peopels sell the key items yet, I got the recipe, i got the mats, but key items is NOWHERE to be found.

I can't even farm them myself, they don't spoil for my knowlage, secondly the mobs hit me for +600 in damage per hit.

And yeah it's just A grade, and not S grade I'm farming... Who wuld make sens aka 76+ mobs.
Well, I have seen loads of Academy armors and D-grade weapory. So not all is lost.
those new masks seem really cool. Shame that I can't seem to find any mention on this site. Or more pictures.
I don't think the new gear being harder to obtain is an issue. I don't want to wake up 2 days after C5 and see the world in goggles and monocles. A lot of Vets forget- one of the things that keeps people drawn to things is the idea of new challenges. I like the idea of having to work for something again (other than a subclass) on my top char... when I can be bothered lol.

There was very little that excited me just after C4 came out... suddenly everyone already had the new stuff, and the novelty wore off very quickly... Hooray new Chronicle- New Stuff!!! Oh wait, no, just back to the grind again.

I would be glad to see some of the new headgear not popping up for a long time yet, but alas, it was not to be. I saw a few for sale in Giran yesterday, and more today, and so it begins again.

Okay...this is officially too much stuff to get a hat. You'd probably have more luck leveling up a couple of striders before you get all this stuff.

I'm assuming that you would have to be a certain level of fishing experience to obtain each kind of scale. I haven't seen any information on fishing levels and what is dropped per level since C-5, and don't even get me started on where recipes drop. Since my clan owns a clan hall in Giran, I know that the little angel wings recs come from giran clan halls. Has anyone seen any of the other recs elsewhere?

Da Smookster...

I don't want to wake up 2 days after C5 and see the world in goggles and monocles.

Doesn't get any simpler than that.

The apella set is the first armor that's purely situational, which is a good thing. It's not "better" and not something you outfit everyone with, but something you apply strategically, which makes it a really interesting alternative.

The oath set is a fantastic set for it's price. It's not brig, but for about half a mill for the *entire set*, it sure as heck beats having to get the brig gaiters+bp for ~500k, plus the helmet for 2 friggen mill.

The new accessories are supposed to be rare - and they are. There are a few fairy antennae on hinde so far, and I know there are some goggles and poet hats in the making. This rate seems just fine to me.

The new weapons are hella cool, and I believe 2h fighter blunts is a first in the game so far.

I'd say this chronicle was way juicy when it comes to gear.

indeed.

i myself just got an eclyptic axe for my summoner, and mystery sword for my SE. we are TEH SEXAH.

<3 <3 <3 <3 eclypse sword and axe

You aiming for flaming dragon skull? Me too :(
It's actually Doom Crusher Heads I want but basicly they drop the same ways... mobs who just insane to hard to reach.
the rune cave mobs are hard to kill.

only cause they are mostly AoE. (turan should love this place)

but Top A drops is nice.. too bad they aren't commin.

but this Getting top Of the grade that you where before, then the grade you are now: is getting really old!

We should be able to get the next grade of gear before or just after we hit the masteries for it.(sorry if half of you dissagree)

does S grade even drop any where?

any how I digress;

The F. hat is supper sweet, but we only get 100% recs so we have to craft at 100% and with the list of mats needed for the hat looks like they are going to be selling up words of 60M or more.

We should be able to get the next grade of gear before or just after we hit the masteries for it.(sorry if half of you dissagree)

Fine, you should get that, and I...who works hard to have a vibrant economic advantage, should have +10 everything. You will then just complain that yours isn't +10 too. Maybe gear should just be free...

I'm saying that when we hit 61 we should be able to out fit our self with A/g and not when we hit 76 and get S/g masteries. when you get to 70 you should be working on geting your S/g.

not when you hit 77.

the way it is now. when we hit 61 we're just starting to get Top B gear.

and when you hit 52 your just starting to get top c... Why?

does that make any sence to you?

Maybe I think in a dream world or something... but when I'm in
B mastery I want to be lvling in B grade... not top C. same for A and S.

BTW if I want a +10...I'll make a 10.. I'm not asking any one for theirs.
Of course that's how it works. What would be the point of low/mid grade if you went straight to top once you hit the grade?

I had a Journeyman's staff at lvl 23. People taunted AND teased. :(
I love that the new items are hard to get. Whats the fun in accessories if everyone has them. Its been two darn weeks, give it time. This is just like complaining that you cant get the SB's on day 1. Two weeks later they have come down 400% or more in price, give it a month or two and chillll
the point is that only farmers with full partys can get this and sells to u ....

like lvl 40 for a **** brig helmet that u can wear @ 20 ,lol
never understod the drop tables, ur in A and can get C or low B^^
qft!
I had bronze and falchion at lvl 25 on my first human fighter.
It made me figure out ways to play market and make adena.
If I recall at that time i had 300k in warehouse, some mats, and the stuff my toon was wearing.
That was January of 2006.

When I reached c-grade i didn't get a 'good' c weapon till a clan mate loaned me full-plate set and sls. At that time I think I had more adena but nowhere NEAR enough to buy top C-gear.
What's with this "we should get top A grade at 61"!!!????
What?
You should be in good B-grade or at best low A grade at 61---or you have a very helpful clan or you're a cheater!

Now, now, now. Gimme, gimme, gimme.

What is up with some of you folks? If you're that concerned do what all the uber folks do---go outside of game and just buy the adena--seems to be all the rage.

I've been posting this message for months:

"inflation is out of control".

I had a couple of ideas (which I was glad to see dev's also had)......1) increase adena sink, 2) increase base adena drops (increase in minimum wage) as efforts to curb inflation.
At least that's my opinion.

Now if they would change low sets for armor and allow 'top d' weapon purchase in giran shops it would complete my 'inflation buster' concept........if unattended, automated players could be addressed.

The root cause of those unmentionable, automated players is that actual real players want stuff immediately and are willing to cheat to get it.
I'm all for allowing big brother access to account oversight that includes banning all those who come up with 10 million or more adena in a day in their account!

I guess the message is this: either work for what you get (in which case you will NOT get top A grade or even 'good' A grade at 61) or take the easy way and cheat like most players do. It's your call.

Really? Cause I'll prep my S grade and click craft when I turn 76. Guess you just suck.
not really true, i can manor over 350 ori ore from level 0-30. That is 29k*350

well, there is 10 mil right there with little expense. Learn to make money thats more important than grinding as fast as possible.
I seem to have managed 2 A sets, 2 A weps with SA, OE BoP, OE emi, PL, and 500 M to play with...why can't you?

You should be in good B-grade or at best low A grade at 61---or you have a very helpful clan or you're a cheater!

I do agree with that. But high A parts dropping of 80+ mobs.. There is something wrong with that >.>
You should probably have yours S, or desent savings towards it by the time you comonly hunt those mobs.
"Really? Cause I'll prep my S grade and click craft when I turn 76. Guess you just suck.

Luke

yep, all peps who dont buy from farmers suck :)

dumbest comment ever seen ... sry

GRIND is not only for EXP... u should be able to equip urself, not only when ur 20 lvl above the grade ^^

this isn't franz or C1 any more.

whats the point of having low C if no one uses it?

how often this late in the game do you see any one in Low C?

Often what NCsoft claims is low for a grade the players call it top!

IE: karmain = top armor for C cause it's best bonus, DC is best for nukers yet it's classified as low A.....

So what classifys a item as top or Low...what NCsoft thinks it is, or what the player base thinks it is?

don't be neive!

Google surch adena, you don't have to buy it just to resurch (resource) what the cerrent cost is perserver.... you'd find some servers are high while others are cheep.

Remove the idea that the eula rules your life and your way of thinking. I bet you all would be shocked at how many people that post on this boards use 3rd party programs, or have at one point in time as bougt adena from a 3rd party.

Yes I agree, the market is out of control!

But what are you doing to stop it?

you all keep buying adena from 3rd party's isn't, not learning about microeconomics isn't.

Killing a perma red that kills only bots and not players, isn't helping. "when you see a red...omg omg a red lets kill him"... if that red isn't atking you stop and ask why hes red if he says he pked a bot leave him alone!

slove the problem rather then making it worest... just wait till we get the new patch then you all will be crying cause you can no longer get drops for training.

now how are you going to get your A/g before you hit 61...can't train bots for their gear no more.

Mobs as you get higher get harder, I'd like to see a mage in mid +3 C grade try to kill a lvl 66 mob in rune... they can't they'd atk fail every other hit.(beleave me I tried this back in C2/3 when my necro was still 52 and useing a crystal staff...don't work for long)

Just drop the attatude that I'm better then you cause I didn't buy my gear from RL cash.

PS: I'm not saying you do, or every one does any of this...just a general statement!
Let's think about this.... shall we?

There have been people that have put the playstyle of Lineage 2 like this: You can either grind for xp, or grind for adena. This generalization seems to be what sparked the adena market. This also seems to be the reasoning behind the drop tables.

If you're at level 52, you're most likely in top C grade right? You can easily continue to hunt mobs in that gear, even though you do in fact have B grade mastery. The mobs that start dropping low B grade stuff is at like... 54 or 55. Something like that. Anyway, you can very very easily hunt those mobs with a group at level 52 or a little before... therefore farming for your B grade. By the time you reach 55 or 56 by that method, you'll most likely have your gear crafted. Then you can, if need be, move on to hunting with a group to farm the top B gear.

You say that you're gonna level way to fast before even getting your gear, right? Well... think about the whole premise of Lineage 2. It is a large-scale PvP-centric game. Focusing on group play. GRRROOUUUPPPP.... PLLLAAAYYY. It's a PvP game, so you're probably gonna end up getting some deaths through PvP. That creates a loss of xp. You're also gonna die every now and again, espeically since you'd be hunting mobs more powerful than yourself. That, I believe, is the original concept behind the drop tables.

Now... we're here at present day. It's no longer Prelude. Most people solo whites and greens with a buffbot. Most people buy top gear straight up when they change expertise levels. The only people that seem to stick to the original logic behind Lineage 2 is the ones we blame for it's ecomonical fallacies: 3rd-party programs.

We complain about the state of Lineage 2's drop tables and economic inflation. We blame bots and farmers. They are indeed a large part of the problem. But it is us, the totally legit players, that are the godfathers of this mess. We are the ones who crave dominance. We are the ones who chose to take what was given to us and twist and contort it into something altogether different. There is nothing wrong with that, nothing at all. But we can't complain about what we started like it's not our fault. We're the demand, and the farmers and bots are the supply.

I really don't know how to fix the problem, but I know that complaining about it in the manner we are isn't solving jack [censored].
A crystal staff with blessed will nuke clear up to 75. The damage sucks, but attacks won't fail.

Either way, it is entirely possible to have millions if not billions of adena and be entirely legit. L2's economy is not "I gather my gear from drops." L2 requires you to gather gear from quests, seeding, farming mobs, trading, etc. If you do the above, the ebayers actually make it EASIER. The only thing ebaying does is create a differential between craft and purchase costs IMO. The more adena that seems to sell, the higher I can sell my items for. The only area inflation could apply is tip top gear, S grade. S weapons that run for 500 M is out of hand, but they're still rare. It will come down with time.

I have played since beta and never had an issue with gear. I got my C grade from luxury shop the day the luxury shop got put in game. We've had margins to make money all the time. Now granted, I make an income off of lazy people and ebayers. I make money off of improper market knowledge by reselling items. I make money by putting in time crafting. A WS is the most important character in L2. And guess what? The concept of a "main" well that doesn't quite apply to income. How many players do you know with high lvl warsmith alts which they use to fund a dd main? Warsmith and Bounty Hunter are the most popular classes in L2. 50% of the community has at least one of the above.

L2 makes you work for your gear...it doesn't just drop on the ground while you level as fast as possible. That's the nature of a game like this. It's what makes the game so long term. Do you think I could play for 2.5 years if everything just laid out in front of me? What fun would that be? Where's the challenge? Even SirE managed to get A grade. That says enough for me.
I think his point is not that we should have the gear when we get the masteriers, but that it should be POSSIBLE to get the gear before the next grade masteries are reached. Right now the only way that is possible would be multiple alting, playing the market (which takes money, luck, and time), or an outside source of funds or materials (the grey market or finding a clan that will take you, has a stockpile of surplus parts, and probably makes you hate logging into the game).

Right now its highly unlikely anyone has a prayer of farming the key materials, basic materials, and reciepes to get the top grade gear before they hit the next grade masteries. Mostly because for some incomprehensible reason the developers put the materials for C-grade gear into places and on monsters people in B grade hunt (ditto for B, A, etc). Even if a group could be assembled that was strong enough to hunt where the right grade of parts drops, the odds are heavily in favor of the group outleveling the area/monsters before getting enough parts to finish.

Effectively you have only a few options; one is finding a group that is capable of getting the drops/spoils you need, in the quantities you need, and willing to delevel with you until everyone after those parts has them. In english - something you'll see on a routine basis when hell freezes over. The second is to outlevel the gear you want until you can farm it solo then freeze you're leveling and farm it that way: not only boring but with the "I'm bigger than you so I can do whatever I **** well please" bully additude of L2 players not leveling is the same as being a free punching bag. The last option is to make a "leech" class that gets invited into groups significantly higher than yourself and use that character to collect what parts you need. Not exactly a pleasant option or even assured unless the player is willing to make a new leech or delevel the old one every time they get too high for the local hunting groups (if such groups don't have their own leech... er two-box already).

PS

Sithmaster - you're just making yourself look like an [censored] (the arrogant idiot type, not the blunt-but-true kind) with this "I did it so you can **** well do it too" additude. Especially since times are NOT what you had. Maybe you started earlier when 10 million adena was something - now thats maybe D-grade if someone is very patient.

Remember that prices on gear have shot up due to inflation and people gearing alts (and people pricing to the alt-maker not the new player). There is also a manor choked with bots, poor design (1 turn-in time when people might be sleeping, at work, etc), and incompetence/politics. Last you have the general migration of people away from grouping to two-boxing, and away from areas where parts drop (Cruma is certainly a dead area unless you count bots) to high-xp places (since their main can buy the gear and the alt doesn't have to actually earn it).

The net result is players coming into the game can try as hard (or harder) than you did but not make the same progress. The game changed, and was adjusted to keep the previous player happy with no regard to the effect it had on the newcomer. Maybe in a place like Korea that wouldn't matter, but given how clans here act that is a serious difference - if you don't have the levels and gear most assume you're not worth their time. It never seems to dawn on them that just maybe the player did bust their tail and found the whole system stacked against them.

this isn't franz or C1 any more.

Okay, I'm getting kinda confused what your point is. Are you saying earning A-grade at level 61 is too hard or too easy?

A lot of people seem to think they should be wearing top grade the level they get the mastery. If they can't wear Doom at 52 and have an SA'd Sword of Miracles at level 61, the game is broken.

Earning A-grade at 61 is too early. I'm 66 and I'm still working up money to get my A-grade armor but I'm getting there. I already have my entry A weapon. At the moment I have Doom heavy + light sets, 2 tallum boots, 1 tallum gloves, and an assortment of B-gloves and boots that I'm reselling for anything from 300k to 3 mill profit each. I have 34 mill in my pocket.
Surprise, I never ebayed or botted at all. It's not rocket science.

Saying we can't earn a-grade because we can't train bots anymore is kinda goofy. Are you implying that it's an intended part of the economy model?
I've gotten one decent drop of a bot in my entire career and it was shared with 4 others. 90% of the people I know have virtually never trained a bot, let alone gotten any drops.
10 M adena IS c grade. You buy a delusion, composite body, and wear your D grade arms/legs. You grab a few pieces of C jewelry and bam D > C grade. You don't need a full plate set, I didn't need it and soloing is easier now than ever. There are tons more high lvl buffers and buffer 2boxes to be found shouting for buffs in Giran or Aden.

In C1 you were **** lucky to get a good buffer in party or a BD. Nobody had top gear except a select few. I made (crafted) the second set of full plate on the server and it took almost a month and the help of a dear friend to do it. That's working on it EVERY day. It's totally possible to farm mats for your next grade...you don't need full parties, just go duo.

The ONLY arguement one could make is that some items have become more rare at C/B grade due to subclassers. But frankly, blowing money on full plate armor instead of composite just proves you don't understand how to properly invest adena at that level. I've leveled a prophet since C1. I've leveled a SH and an SE since C3. I don't tweak any of these toons, they normally have EXTRA money when they are finished leveling which I cycle over to my main. The fact is, if you think you can play for 3 weeks, reach lvl 40, and pull out full top C grade, that's absurd. That's not how this game is played, and if it is what you are looking for, you're playing the wrong game. Many of us like the challenging market. I don't have to cheat, I don't have to steal...hell I've lost all my gear and built up to where I am now on a 2 weeks loan of B grade and 40 M adena from various friends to get me back in game. I returned the B grade and since then 40 M has become well over 1 B adena worth of items a year later.

I'm a casual player too, not more than 10 hrs a week most of the time. The system is fine, your expectations are just absurd. GREED. There weren't even SAs when I hit 61. You see somebody whom has combined luck, work, and a few smart plays on the market, and desire the same things. Guess what, you didn't earn it.
I will answer your question later after I had some sleep.

but I will answer you.

I agree with eviltreerat about alot of his points.. they where on the same page idea as mine is.

and no sith you sure as hell can not lvl from 40-75 with a crystal staff..I newest to atk fail quite often with a SoM. once you hit 54 crys staff is worthless for a nuker to use. not only that but the cost and the use of shots.(emi uses 10 SS per hit...how do you expect to make money like that?)
It's like saying "you can't level unbuffed" or "you can't level without SS".

Sure you can, you just need patience. I levelled to 24 or something on teon using my silversmith hammer, no soulshots, and no buffs. 200k for a buzdygan was just astronomical. If I had a bonebreaker I'd sell it and fund gear for my entire alliance.
