I don't know how many of you have been at a siege since C5 came out, but what's up with this erase skill?
Siege golems can be erased...poof...gone. Then they have to be re-summoned, over and over again. Is this really what NCSoft had in mind with this skill? If so, it's totally ridiculous.
Do you guys think this is just ******ed? Is this "working as intended"?
It's an interesting skill, but it hurts the wrong classes imo. Summoners aren't exactly fotm (Not sure if I would call necro a true summoner, even though that's what the game calls it) so it's a shame to see them get hit so hard in pvp.
If it was up to me, I would maybe give Erase a really long recharge. 5-10 minutes or something. Or give "true" summoner classes a powerful Erase resist buff.
So WS finaly got kicked out in the PVP department to ? :/
Destroying an Siege golem is ment to be hard, and not cake walk.... I guess I was right, to siege you need 20+ Nukers now to take down a wall, a WS have the worst defence towards Erase, no M.def low MEN, I bet it hit quite commonly when my EE alredy rease even leveled summoners at 50% rate.
This really sucks, but good to know that Siege golems now is pointless.

Not sure if you're thinking of sieges, but at sieges there are (or should be) a LOT of chars with erase, so that wouldn't solve anything. I wouldnt mind a longer recharge though. It shouldnt be spammable (not sure if it is, I don't have it yet).
And it definitely should not be castable on siege golem/hog. Thats just below the belt, especially considering the cost to summon.
Is the range of erase super long or something? Even before erase at sieges people always knew to protect the WS casting because it could be interupted knowing people would be gunning for the WS's death. Now you have to watch out for the caster the whole time...
Hogs - yeah they're pretty easy to kill.
Golems on the other hand, you just get 10 healers to spam heal the dwarf - now all it takes is one spell. There's a big difference there.
Kidding about what? If erase works on the golems (and yes I KNOW it is cast on the summoner not the pet) there isn't much you can do than try to keep the dwarf out of range or destroy the squishy classes that can cast it. Right?
I dunno but I do have mixed feelings about this. Sieges are supposed to be tough and IMO I think that golems are a little pricey if they can be erased that quickly. HOWEVER, considering the amount of power they have and let's face it they are needed for sieges, it has to be a risk you are willing to take. The same goes for the flags. You spend the money to raise one...Be ready to spend it again if you aren't guarding it.
This whole Chronicle has been a lesson in adaptation. I would be thoroughly disappointed if NCSoft decided to change things after the fact since many of us have had to learn to adapt (e.g. healers, nukers, etc).
It seems like people here are saying that erase is cast on the summoner...but I thought erase was cast at the summon??
So, doesn't matter if you keey the WS waaaaay out of range, a healer behind the wall's still going to be able to zap the golem as soon as it comes in range.
As for erasing flags...that's just evil....I like it. XD
The biggest problem is with how much it costs to summon a seige golem or hog cannon. These two summons are insanly expensive to use in comparison to regular summons. I was unaware that the summoner had to be targeted in order to use erase though. I assumed you just targeted the summons. If that is the case it is a matter of keeping the WS protected while the summons is at work, which may be difficult but not impossible.

Except for the fact that driving a siege golem is a [censored], and you have to stay within pretty close range of the thing.
Can I erase, um, siege flags of attacking clans? Maybe stupid question, but to me it seems they are sort of summon too.
Hrm also can you fear a siege flag? It's funny to watch a pumpkin scurry across a town square but I bet it won't be funny if people start spawning in the ocean or over a cliff. On the plus side you can fear your flag inside the castle as you advance.
omg who put these short people in game! lets make it so you never need them for anything, not once, by replacing them with quests. and split up their skills to be given to all the other classes, like their ability to carry a lot of potions, better yet lets just make potions weigh less, thats easier. what?? people still play this class, even though they cant make money anymore and can't PvP without losing tons of money?? lets just erase them, and put the players out of their misery.
how to kill a summoned target is target the summoner and not the summon.
So remove a flag is not possible as you can't really target the summoner as it's stand alone.
What? You can still unsummon kai the cat by targetting him with erase...or a siege golem. And the range is NOT 900. Actually...none of your post is correct in any way!
gonna say it again
ws is the only class that DOESN'T summon
all golem are manufactured and should be imune to erase
that being said it doesnt surprise me one bit you can erase a siege golem
anyone try the new nobless wall bash thing yet? prolly meant to be the new siege tool

really? they pull a siege golem out of their pocket? sweet.
No, they beat their head against a castle wall until it collapses ... after getting 75 two times, they have enough pent up anger against NCSoft to do this.
Well, actually, they climb on a strider and the strider then supposedly starts trying to break walls.

Buy striders today!
think he was talking to me about golems being created and not summoned
and i guess you win hieverybody after checking my skill list it seems nc has re-worded it so all golems are now indeed summons
good to see dwarfs finally got a magic skill huh :P
How long is C5 live in Korea? I mean ... Koreans do never play sieges, or they just are not the mentality to achieve anything at all costs? I guess many exploits come from NCNA that need to be fixed ASAP. Or is it like "we know about the bug, but we are honest enough and not going to abuse it" - if that's what they think might work there, definitely is not working here.
Is it meant to be that way that multi-million Golems can go poof by every buffbot out there, or it is just idea that somehow was not thought to the very end?
Welcome to the summoner C5 world... Haha, ppl kept telling me that Erase was a low land rate and that healers would never use it anyway: none of them will ever think to put it on a shortcut, so don't worry.. Erase is a non factor.
Well, erase isn't a huge issue to summoners, your summons don't take forever to cast, can't only be used at sieges and don't cost a truckload of money to summon.
I forsee Kamikaze groups of healers (who ALL get erase) at sieges :(
This significantly weakens attackers at sieges, while doing nothing against defenders. Very bad change :(
Our summons take more than long enough to cast for us to really feel the sudden hit to PDef/MDef from lack of TP.
The same thing that happened to summoners just happened to siege attackers. The latter is certainly more dramatic (because the presence of siege attackers in a siege is more relevant than the presence of summoners in mass PvP), but it's nonetheless the same BS.
It would be better to encourage sieging than to discourage it, but eh.
The QA team let me know that the Erase skill should not affect Siege Golems, the Wild Hog Cannon, or the Headquarters during a siege.
If you experienced this during a recent siege, please use the web site (http://support.lineage2.com) with a description of the siege, the time it occurred, and your server so the QA team can take a look. Thank you!
You wear robes/LA...it should be that way. TP was a bad addition to the game and is the reason the necro was so broken.
Necros never sould have gotten TP in the first place. It sould have been a true summoner only skill. Most FOTM necros dont even know how to use thier summon, other then having it be a meat shield/hp-cp doubler.
If it wasnt for Necros having that skill in the first place, all these screwed up changes concerning summons probably never would have happened in the first place.

No, it wouldn't have made a difference. The summoner was nerfed because it is extremely strong in self-buffed 1v1 ie Olympiad. The C4 summoner with no TP was a fairly balanced class.
Sure it has, go fight a prophet 1v1 self buffed of equal level.
Heh you make it obvious you have not watched me in Olympiad against 78/79 Prophets. Seeing as I'm the only summoner in Hindemith that is able to go to the Olympiad. In the few dozens of games I did I played against prophets too, where I won with half of my CP still there. So uhm.. get your facts straight, please? Either talk to the noblesse prophets or watch the Oly game before making wild assumptions. Even Tokara didn't break my CP. My only loss (multiple) is against MoA because of chainstun, summoner oly didnt change compared to C4. Got 87 Olympiad points in 1 evening.
Fear: Tokara (78 WC) only got to land it once
Erase: HakkebQf (78 Bish) only got to land it twice out of many tries > simply recast
I haven't seen you fight any prophets whatsoever. I'd love to watch that though hehe. 78/79? Nya? Nya's a joke. Playing 20 hrs a day just means you outlevel your intelligence.
KatjaTheMystic is 78, Nya is 79. Afaik those are the only prophets that are noble (and play) Oly. I only play saturday evenings because I'm European (3am > 7am Olympiad FTL) so if you want to watch watch saturday, or just ask others about last saturday. I only play 4-5 hours a day normally, the 40+ hours weekend was an exception :p
Anyways this is going quite off topic. Just wanted to reply that Erase (and fear) aren't an issue AT ALL in Oly, which was (I think) NC's reason to add them to the game against us.
yeah... a summoner with no TP is fair. so we would have a reduction in damage, servitors that have slow ranged attacks and can be kited/ignored long enough to kill the summoner easy enough with TP on by many classes.. would make them even easier targets without it. SUmmoners have no real defenses without the summon, one of their only ways to defend themselves is to have TP so their flimsy pdef is compensated for by having a larger HP/cp pool.
Necros should not have had the skill as they are perfectly viable without a summon. As for the olympiad, if you have a summoner you've lasted long enough with till 75 AND managed ot get people to help you subclass with, then you know what? you deserve to do well in 1v1 Self buffed fights... Why? because outside of the olympiad they still get destroyed by all the super geared high level archers and mages with full buffs. If people wanted to rule the olympiad they would all reroll a summoner.. but they don't want that.. they want to rule in PVP out of the Olympiad events, they only compete in the Olympiad to become a Hero, and last I checked there can only be one of each class, so a Summoner Hero vs say a HE Hero with full buffs is still more than likely going to lose (several k hp crits by an archer in a row FTL).
I didn't suggest you, I suggested Nya was simply overleveled beyond playability. Kat is the most multiboxed toon on Hinde. Sounds like you proved my point to me.
I can confirm that you target the summons, not the summoner. My son and I hold 4 accounts, so on the PTS we created a level 75 Warlock/Phantom Summoner/SE/Prophet. We experimented with these skills and you do indeed target the summons. What is worse than erase though is Betray. If my summons gets erased I have the chance (maybe) to resummon it, but when it gets hit with betray and it lands, I'm in trouble. Those things hit hard! And you can't un-summon them when they are in combat mode, so you spend a lot of pots and mp (Battle Heal) on yourself to survive it's attacks until the spell times out! Ouch!
Now, I apoligize to all the WS's out there in advance for this next part. It's a real shame that Betray won't work on a Siege Golem. The mental vision of a Golem turning about in the middle of a siege and squashing his dwarf into a very wide pancake made me laugh so hard I think I sprained something! Or the Wild Hog Cannon retargeting on his master and blasting him in to thousands of tiny dwarf framents! (hmmm, if you picked up all the fragment could you craft a new dwarf? lol)
I think that I would be willing to personally pay for the C gremstones used to summon it up, just to see that happen! But such are dreams and fantasies.
Now that practically every mage class has Fear how would a Golem even get near a Castle. I took part in several sieges in my early 50s as a Necro and kept TWO Seige Golems off of our walls on my own. Now that all the mages have Fear as well I didn't think I was ever going to see another Seige Golem anyway.
