Waking Scrolls

Do these serve any purpose whatsoever or are they really the most useless things on the servers?

I haven't ever met anyone who actually uses them
they are really usefull.
try to xp in the necropolis of devotion (x ascetics) where in the first rooms (and most reachable cause mobs deeper are close to RB of the resistances and the aoe stun they got). there u ll find lilim priest or something. they cast sleep and they cast it the old way. (not 10 secs casting time like p00r mages :) *couldnt resist on this one* ). i found it REALLY usefull cause its not always safe to flag to wake a party member, never know who s next to ya.

P.S. Yeahhhhh im no longer an elpy. i just turned in to a mighty Keltir. ROARRRRRRRRRR
Aha so you're the person that uses them :p

No seriously I have never come across anyone that does. It's probably just the parties I'm in. My character doesn't stun or sleep easily so I don't use them and I guess I'm usually with someone who can give me a knock to wake up if on the odd occasion I do. I just wondered was all :)
They are very useful. In TOI and Catas/Necros especially, when mobs sleep alot.

Flagging in areas where hostiles and opportunists can be around any corner may not be the most prudent way to play the game. The waking scroll is fast, efficient, causes no damage to the slep player, doesn't eat any auto ss, and can be clicked without slowing down your attacking of the mob.

Not sure where you play but you must have a very sheltered game-life if you've never seen them used.
well its ok when u just RP and u got no enemies . but when u got enemies, and not being in war, sometimes its really sucky to flag and be killed by some pvp freak thats searching desparately to increase his pvp status.
in general, i always carry with me a few of all items that can cure u or your party members. like waking scrolls and bandages

much better than what i wrote above :P . grrrr, i must learn better english, hard thing in my age :(
I'm only level 60 so I haven't played everywhere, I've been to loads of areas but never seen anyone use them. I'm not saying people don't I'm just saying I don't and don't know anyone that does. I've not been slept in the cata's yet I'm sure it will happend tho.
of course u will.
btw really nice avatar m8y. could your pussycat, pass it to me right after? muahahhaha :P
I used to see them as wasted drops and sold them all the time till like 2 months ago that I started to encounter way more mobs that sleep.

And indeed as like EQ says, flagging in high lvl areas where enemies are around may not be the best way to have a nice outcome of your grinding party.
<--- proud user of waking scrolls. I usually get them from others, they drop it on ground or sell to shop, so I beg them to give them to me. Got like 300 on me now :) Very useful thingie, I have them on hotbar usually unless I need something else.
It's also funny when you start poping them on somebody, and those surprises "hey what's that? what are you doing to me???"
Not saying that I know this by personal experience... ;)
Dion wolves drop them like mad.
Given the fact that I probably won't care if I die... (I'm only 55) I'd much rather shoot a sleeper and hope for a crit. Cause then I can laugh, and be happy.
I go through tons of them. Have you ever tried to have an SE wake up a high level AW by hitting them? It sucks. Plus you flag and that invites griefing. They work at range, don't cause you to flag and are 100%.

Funniest thing I saw was in a group with 2 ~60 archers (SR and PR, I think). AW gets slept, by both shoot him, crit, and **** near kill him. I was laughing too hard to help much. :)
Yep I know reds that have a support class spam it on them when I try to sleep them into submission.
