European players versus ping to american servers

Hello to all,

I live in Portugal (Europe), play L2 at Devianne for more than 2 years and the average ping has been always around 145 ms. Since C5 the average ping to Devianne and all american servers is now 500+ ms.

What is the problem with the connection to american servers? My ping to Teon and Franz is 80ms, so I think my internet provider is not guilty of it.

Can anyone enlighten me?

If you live in Europem and got 80ms ping to Teon and France it sure sounds like your internet provider is guilty.

Got 30ms ping to Teon, Franz myself and I know a lot more have even beter then I do.

As for the rest of the servers they have hte same ping as always, except lots of lag latly since about 1 week ago now.

On Sieghardt ping was around 150 on C4..
Since C5 went up to 200..
Still ok to play though..

i'm in kuwait and my ping time to Gustin is 120-240 depends on the day. talk to your ISP :p

in europe not everyone has "fastpast", its an extra feature.

it shows me a ping of 18 - 19ms atm, since franz is uber "populated"... but u receive lag spikes and dc's.

gustin shows 150ms from germany , with 17mbit/fastpath, was 220 with common line.

Hell .. I live in Alaska and the best ping I get to US servers is 79.. usualy they are 100 to 120.

Seriously, the ping varies greatly. I have like 130 ping on Franz (which i just started playing), 100 on Lionna and 32 or so on Devianne.
I live in Pennsylvania.
I've had impossible lags on Devianne (lowest ping for me) and smooth play on Franz (highest ping for me).
C5 seems to have increased a couple a bit but i think this is normal.
Though over 9 months I've averaged a ping of just under 100 on Lionna (my home server) during C4 it averaged more like 120 for me!
I'm not sure this amount of variability is necessarily a problem.

I live in Norway, and got a relatively good capacity ADSL connection. But, ping for me, is 150 to teon, and 300-400 to USA servers.

Teon and Franz servers are now located in Germany. This should explain why your ping to these are lower than the ones in America. They moved the location to these servers w/the launch of C5.

From the UK im getting 40 for Teon and 50 for Franz. The rest are anything from 120 - 250.
