The long way to Silver Ranger

Here I am, levelling my Elven Scout to the path of the Silver Ranger.
I usually hunt with my bow, but I've heard that ranger are used to take 2 weapon with them, bow and dagger.
What's the use? Isn't that expensive in adenas and SP, compared to the use I can have of a dagger? Any1 can explain ?
Thank you all :)

Well it is cheaper to level with a dagger until you get to lvl 40 and become a specialist in bows. Daggers use less SS than a bow.
If you can afford it, using a dagger is useful for levels 40 > to regain mana while fighting, reducing rest time, expecially if you have a bow without CS.
thank you guys!
I found when I was starting out that levelling up to 40 was quicker and cost less Adena (in SS and arrows etc etc) to just go with dagger till I was making more money and had all my archery skills..also un til 40 i used heavy armour so I could take more hits and get on with grinding (and brig has a HP bonus) and switched to light armour once C grade when i had a higher level of light armour masteries to really make the light armour effective

Now as a 6x PR i take both with me so that when I run out of MP from archey skills and normal archery, I can fight on with a dagger untill my MP regenerates rather than sit on my backside waiting to have enough MP to shoot an arrow..

Hope this helps answer your question!

this is the proper way an archer should lvl up.
though its kind of expensive to have 2 A grade weapons, (e.g. bl.orchid/focus & Soulbow/cs on my archer atm ).
also, my personal advice, when u pve, even many lvls after 40, u do a great dmg on dagger, though u dont get any more dagger specialty.
