I personally miss the good old days of nukers running around with 10-12 golemns behind them falling one by one from poison and good old cruma tower parties being all the rage

Man I so miss that too. made lvling a nuker fun. now it's just nothinmg but grind grind grind on 1 mob. also made flame strike pointless.
I miss the massive PKs on noob zones and peple fighting over hunting spots in noob zones. (RoA, RoD, just out side RoD)
Yes, the swamp and School of Dark Arts were really scary for a young dark elf. I remember when i first picked up a Ring of Anguish. I was so excited that i run into a goblin who killed me and I just dropped the ring. (I could not find it again in the swamp.)
I also liked the Varikan Brigand Group. They often chased me back to the village.
I miss the lack of necro/catas. They're too good xp and too boring.
I miss the minibosses. What was that dude's name in exec grounds? Some red flying demon with skeleton minions. They were really fun to do with a small party and broke up the grind a lot, and they were tons fun for my polearm dwarf. It's completely beyond me why they took them out.
Overall I miss when everything was new and when the economy was just getting started. My first time seeing magic (big deal when dwarf was my first and second chars). My first time to the mainland (oooooh so many other races, aaaaah big metropolis called gludin). I also miss how you could craft items buyable in the shop for less, and sell them for profit while saving the buyer money. I made 5-8k profits from pumping out scale gaiters, something that was a 3 day project.
Great fun.
miss pick up groups in cruma also
Uthanka was always entertaining on TI
i miss the gate fights outside of north gate of TI
i miss gludin arena
and i miss being able to stand on the balcony of the library in elven ruins and shoot down at the mobs below, occasionally falling off and being scared as hell while i ran all the way back to the entrance with a big train on my [censored]
btw the red demon guy in execution grounds was named demon tempest i remember aggroing him once in a while when i ran around the top part
PS: i miss being able to shift-click somone who has used the "fake death" skill >.<
me: bot, get back up so the mobs can kill you. you will run out of mp eventually, you are just delaying the inevita--
bot: *runs out of mp and forcelogs*
Yah i miss the minibosses and their shouts, i used to make it a point to take the dorfland one out atleast once a day from the first time he killed me when i was unprepared, lol. The boss that shouted 'give me all your shiney pretties' or something like that, and on a more dorfbasis.. i miss being able to open up the recipebook while sitting down -.- pain in the [censored] standing up just to open it and sit back down again and again... lol
Prelude and before.... i miss the Elf / Dark Elf wars.... dozens of us scrapping in the Neutral Zone, and the cries of "The Dark Elves are coming!!" echoing around the Elven village.
other things i miss from l1:
my pack of hunting beagles
linweb
~~~
things i miss from l2:
thinking the toi floor scrolls would definitely get me a helmet recipe
pvping over who got to be the next person to kill the orc/werewolf/toad for the "spirit of mirrors" quest on ti.
I miss players lower than level 20 not having top NG.
I miss believing people to be newbies, not some bored lowlife with a 6x character that bores them, begging for money.
I miss PVPing one on one over hunt-sites with people who weren't scared to die, or on an alt with a 70+ toon. Oh, and I miss buffers following people around with a human playing them.
i miss being able to open up the recipebook while sitting down -.- pain in the [censored] standing up just to open it and sit back down again and again... lol
rofl.... so true...!!!!
Its a pain now..
Since C5, i cant get TOI BP's anymore, i got 12 waiting in my WH....lol
Please sell me a TOI 5....... :)
Put a recipe on the hotbar (drag it from the book). Then you can open that recipe while sitting. If you need a different one, click "Back" (or whatever it is on the recipe book). No need to stand.
They weren't really raid bosses, they were something to themselves. They were like minibosses you could do solo with a polearm and some buffs, or with a small party. They were removed completely afaik, save a few that were converted into raidbosses.
Someone has a list in their sig of which were removed completely I think. Most were converted to raid bosses, which is too bad... was kind of fun trying to take them on solo.
Ishka in DV and the one in FoM was pretty fun as well as the orcs on TI, was nice lvling around lvl 10-15
I remember the Mini boss around the Dwarven village. He was always shouting something. First time I saw him shout it freaked me out and I ran back to town as fast as I could.(Had no idea what a soe was then)Then when I finally got my nerve up to go back to my hunting spot he shouted something again. This time I went to investigate. I finally located him and decided I should try to kill him. I failed miserably. So after that every time I would gain another level I would go back and try him again. Repeated that process quite a few times then finally took him down. Every day after that I would go look for him before anything else. The XP was amazing to me. Yup the mini bosses were good times. Why were they removed?
Same question as in =
Why have the Raid Bosses been made so much harder?
Ok Im probably nagging here, but for me it stays the same, it wont return.
Ah ha I did the same thing I think! The Rampage Golem yes? I remember sitting there watching in fear while this huge thing and his little minions stomped all over my exp area.
- AoE parties in Cruma. Sitting a full party in the corner and rounding up full rooms and boom.. I think I was in there as soon as I'd learned firestrike.
- Running around RoD/RoA for hours with the miniboss threatening to take my soul.
- Walking through Giran with only half as much lag.
- Making a profit on SS/BSPS
- Actually being ABLE to sell SPS. Yes... People did buy them then.
- Being able to get all of the way to "Heart" with only a BD/WC, SK and Sorc/Bishop.
- Having to wonder which Drake dropped what b-grade mats (do they still do this now? I've retired my high level toons).
There was the golem and the other one. I cant remember what he was called. If I remember correctly he was sort of ol mahum looking. He had 4 wolf type minions with him. He shouted stuff about stealing all the mithril from the dwarves. I cant for the life of me even come up with a real good mental picture of him. All I know is killing him was one of the best moments I had in the game. I just knew it was because of my newly purchased bronze armor that I worked so hard for that I had the upper hand in that battle. :p Ah those were fun times. It took me months to leave the dwarf lands and Gludin scared the hell out of me. Those bears were tough. :(
once me and my friend were hunting there and in 5 secs that **** huge mob 2 hit my spellsinger and my friend poor dwarf friend spamming heal pots and haste pots ehehe funny has hell!!!
yeah those flame strikes Cruma tower parties were the Best, still remember a guy who allways was in the best room NW? Klok from SilverDragons in Lionna.
What about closed beta last day?? when they spawned orphen and Core right outside Gludio?? AHAHHA and the best mobs we could kill was Wyverns in Death Pass eheh
