NCSoft whats your answer are you supporting / encouraging evil. I have not seen anything in this game to reward good deeds only bad ones. NCSOFT why do you support bad actions? Why do you suppport the unbalanced econmy and scammers?
Scamming is part of the game. So is being smart.

Intelligence > Any Scam.
If someone is really good at scamming then does that make that person really bad?
Yes

Because "That's the game".

It's supposed to be this way. Throw people in a world and let them interact. If you think about it, (as a friend of mine said after I told him about L2) this should actually bolster your feelings on humanity as most people in the game tend to be good and helpful.

But this is a game of a violent and brutal world. The players make the rules. It's not a game for everyone. Sometimes it's not the game for me.

But here we are. :)
They allow every player to play the game how they want. Aside from 3rd party software and buying in game assets I think we should all be able to do just that. I kinda scammed someone once. He had it coming. It went something like this.

Other guy :hey ya want to borrow my dual katanas?

Me: Sure I could really use them.

Other guy: Its no problem they are extra from one of my alts.

Me: Thanks man I will let you know when im done with them.

A couple weeks pass and I decide I dont like the play style of the character using the duals. So I send a pm to the guy that let me borrow them.

Me: Hey man Im deleting this character. Where are you? I want to give you your duals.

Other guy: Im busy right now. Just hold on to them till another time.

Couple more weeks pass. I decide to pm again.

Me: Hey man I really want to give these back.

Other guy: Im busy now. Hold them until another time.

Me: Im going to sell them.

Other guy: ....

Me: Thanks for letting me sell them I really need some adena.

end of story. Did I scam him? Not sure im the bad person in that scenario. Maybe I am. Oh well made some nice adena off them.
Well my friend about the economy. I would say it depends on your server.
but on kain seems to have a rather fairly ballenced economy.

I haven't really seen too much thats out side of the ramifications of what a "open market" should have, NCsoft for the most part stays out of the market, but more and more I seen them making it harder and harder on players, Specailly with S & A grade crafts.

You don't have to cheet to get ahead, The problem is others will think you do so there in lays the problem.
The fact is that people(hardcore players usely) want to be able to win..this is a very high attitued for american people...We want to win and thats that...no one likes to be a loser.

So for that to hapen people use programs that allow them to grind while at work or make money. for this reason people keep asking for aution houses...this way they can compete with the "program users", sell their stuff make money and not have to stay loged into game. or stay in a shop in town while they could be out grinding.

Town shops are a neirf to the grind, the grind is a challenge that prevents people from being "uber" VS every one, PvP is a challenge learning how to play your class VS other classes, all in all the ones that wish to get ahead will use the "program" so they can grind while they deal with the RL issues that they have to deal with.
Like in reality, greed makes you a rich but immoral person. If you think being rich is better than being moral, go ahead.
Scamming is unsupported in this game. If you try to /gm asking why your scamming does not work, you will hardly get any useful reply.
I am one of those people that believes (and gets often flamed for it) that when you allow people to do whatever they want to do in an environment of anonymity and mild to no consequence, they reveal their true selves.

You can look around and see that there are many people who are just playing the game, doing their thing, and for the most part, ignore the world around them until something captures their attention, curiosity or ire.

Then there are those who take every advantage they can, who resort to any means necessary to "get ahead." Who taunt and torture others for their own amusement, who look for illegal shortcuts.

Then there are those who go out of their way to help others, to be a support system in an otherwise lawless place. There is very little reward other than personal fulfilment in this. In L2 the good guy finishes last without fail. In fact they often don't finish at all.

BUT if the good guys come together and they DO finish, and they can fight their way to the top, the sense of accomplishment (yes I know it's just a game, no reason one can't feel accomplishment for earning their way in a game so many others have to cheat and scam to succeed in though, right?) is a great feeling.

Seek out those people that share your beliefs. Help them outshine and overcome those people who need to resort to low tactics.
I think you got a point here EQ. Thoi game surely allows people to do their worst and all to many of them do that to their fullest. It makes me glad that we have something resembling law and order out of the game.

Your advise is good as well. Find a couple of good people to hang around with. Not everyone is trying to harm you.

Good Post!

If for some reason I ever come to your server I want to be in your clan!
**** nice post EQ

Having sent hundreds of petitions on urgent/important things and got canned responses every time, i'm gonna try asking for help on scamming :p
I wonder why Castle Siege Reports has not been updated since the12 July.

There is very little reward other than personal fulfilment in this.

I've personally found parties despite being a gimpy class to party (I've been told when I felt insecure about this that if I felt averse to using the seraphim, I was welcome to use the merrow or boxer instead), good deals, being able to borrow recipes and keymats for buystores, and probably getting free crafts if I ever had the patience to wait for one (if I ever had to craft A Grade, I probably would ;) ) despite having no clan enough of a palpable reward for being nice (I'm nowhere near as *****y as on the boards in game ^_^).

Otherwisely, I agree fully - and I'd like to add that the only actual point in getting to the top in L2 is of course the sense of accomplishment, and so ebayers are wasting their money and their time on the game.
I think it depends how you play on whether or not you're going to see the "good" or "bad" side of the L2 world. As a noob it's worst, getting scammed, PK'd just because the other players can kill you, not for any other reason than a power trip.

Player driven economies will always lead to a screwy economy of not played correctly and we know who to blame for the majority of the messed up economy (I dare not speak the name in here).

Play it for what it is as many others have said, half the fun is getting past the crap and just meeting new people/partying/clanning it up.
I find that actually, the higher you get, the more jerks you meet.

But maybe I attract nice people as a nub? :p

Are you a DE female by any chance? :p
Male elf. It's not looks - at least most of those nice people aren't crazed fangirls.
seraphim is always welcome in pvp when a 77 sws isn't around :P
Seraphim should be removed from the game.
...

why?
Same reason sorcs shouldn't be given song of hunter.
well as far as I know, a warlock isn't a sorc. sorcs are far more gimp in c5 than warlocks.

I don't really understand your hatred for the party buffs you guys get.

I know I sure like em lol!

that hit the spot! i completely agree, allthough i'm mostly running my own race and doing fairly good, not ending up last yet being (what i like to believe) a good guy :) The reward of helping someone is in the deed itself, the feeling you get when you know you've done good and its appreciated

i could see how there are some people who would flame you for your beliefs... apparently truth can hurt alot ;) no sympathy for the badguys here
You are correct scamming is a part of the game. I dont like it and i will not support it. Do you steal in real life? If so let me know your name so I can stay away from you and tell the local authoritys.
Nice
good reply

1) Um...I doubt the scammers give a crap whether you support them or not.

2)That little "If you steal in real life..." Thing was about the stupidest crap ever posted.

Let me venture a guess. You, in your infinite-trusting, do-good nature got scammed by someone, and couldn't get NC to ban/punish them?

Here's my suggestion. Take about 5 minutes to finish crying (not on the forums please), dry your eyes, and LEARN FROM IT. Lots of people have been scammed. As much as you may hate to admit it, the only way they can scam you is if you do something stupid, so it was probably your fault.

Welcome to L2. Home of illigetimacy.
wheee i got scamed NCsoft do something
ever considered people cry the hardest might be the true scamers or they call them "the good" people yeah right
like the clasic server going down things people drop anything with unexpected server DT yeah when it happends i dont feel very good about it after all you might die even if you cant do anything about it and even a posability you drop a item like a A helmet but just part of the game
I probably have the least idea of what you guys are talking about, because I am new to L2. Personally I did not ever see a scam in L2 yet. That is a good thing for you guys, I am sure.

Seriously, if noone falls for scams, many players will eventually give up scamming as it is not profitable. The reason why there are scammers is partially because people keep falling for them. If we only take a few minutes each day examining the items we buy, and avoiding shady people, we would be doing the server a favour.

However, there is a dangerous class of scammers who do not scam for money, but the pleasure of cheating people. They brag about their successful scam to a friend. Not being able to scam people will often just make these people think of more clever ways to scam. We have to quickly itentify these people make sure everyone knows about him\her. Since NCSoft will do nothing about it, I suppose we have to.

About bots, the good news is that the bot pays partially for our game. The bad news is that they ruin the game we pay for. We cannot really ban them. What to do about them? The question is, do you download music, movies, anime, and manga? Do you photocopy or burn CDs? Is your windows or photoshop legit? Do you download games, buy accounts, and copy homework? Do you cheat on income tax? If you do, then imo, we are no better than the bots. We are just doing what they are doing....cheating on obtaining things we do not deserve at the expense of the people who worked for it.

If you are not any of the above catagory, congratulations! You are a rare breed of gamer. Now our job is to pass on our values to other people. I can guarantee that the world will be a better place if we honestly manage our dealings....
