I'm not bored with my WS and rerolling if thats what you think :) gonna play them actively both but a change of environment is needed sometimes no matter how much you love something, lol, so i decided to raise a gladiator, just gotten him to D grade and thinking of what stuffs to use after completing the second classtransfers
So whats your own personal weapon SA preferences contra armorsets and tatoos?
Just gimme some ideas for what to use :) not flaming eachothers "genius/moron" like way of setting the char up :p all sides has pro's and con's.... so what are your preferences? :)
FP set + Focus duals. (you can go with Brig at least to mid 40'ies)
If not tanking Plated leather might be good too (= grouping with a tank who can keep aggro).
i went p leather all the way through c grade and solo'd the whole way, had se buffs, so vr all the way, that prolly made a lot of difference, but never really struggled taking hits.
Also did b grade in doom light, and doing a grade in dc light atm.
Starting to struggle to take hits now, but in a small group on white/yellow mobs is ok.

yep, this guys got it. I think its funny how in the box people stray. Get plated leather. I disagree with him on doom light and dc light those dont really make sense any way you put it.
well, with vr, more damage done means more hp back..
and the pdef isnt too bad on light, plus u have the chance to evade a little.
Main reason for dc light is cos i had the hat already from main class though :-)
Ahh yes thats another thing i meant to include, why prefer light armors/why prefer heavy armors? lol, I do have my FP suit from my dorfs old C grade times, hehe, and most likely (i forgot to mention this) i will have a 58+ SE buffer to buff me around too
Thanks for your input fellas :) I wouldnt mind alot more inputs though, the more variety i get the more fun i'll have figuring out a way for my gladdie to work, lol
There was one other big factor in my going light armour...
I wanted to be diffeent... firstly i sub gladiator, not a lot of them, then i go light armour glad, even less of them....

thats pretty much the stat difference between the 2 sets. DC light just has the evasion, but it is noticeable. PVE I evade more but get hit for more. Tallum hits more but better defense. PVP I can evade archers everynow and then but mages...just gotta pick your battles :P
Plus DC light looks better :P my fav set is still zubei light on female.
I use doom light on my 67 warlord (Gladis and warlords both come from human warrior, so we have mostly the same passives). It's not because of the evade, but because of the +3 dex which I stack on top of my +5 tats. With VR and the right type of mobs, hp is not an issue. I do evade a little though, so just because it's -20% pdef doesn't mean I take +20% damage.
I have a doom plate sitting in my wh, but I hardly end up using it. Considering VR, if I put it on I take far more damage than I do with light because of the str and dex I lose.
For PvP your armor has no effect on mage damage except for a very few sets with very minor mdef bonuses. You will evade archers a little, but forget about it on higher level daggers and such.
